Yeah resto shaman is definitely in a rough spot currently. It simply doesn't have numbers. No access to burst healing. When you fall behind, you stay behind unless you can create a counter pressure window. Purges are brutal. With the strongest healers having the best purges, jungle rising again, in 1 press of fire breath or tranq darts, all your earth shields, riptides, earthlivings are just gone. Screws up your entire primordial wave window to the point of potentially no recovery T_T
Resto shaman is definitely experiencing its rough days once again. Weak consistent and burst healing, low damage, inability to utilize your offensive toolkit because you don't have enough stability, oh the pain of being a resto shaman main never ceases to end. In RBGS I'm loving it as from dragonflight to now, although there are much stronger healers, it seems every healer can have it's place. I mean hell I'm carrying the game as a holy priest and holy paladin like WHAT!? IMPOSSIBLE! BUT OH VERY MUCH POSSIBLE if you will it! Not too excited for AWC especially with the current healer disparity, but of course it still serves as a learning experience to a pleb such as myself :)
lol yeah. I do rbgs and arena and switching between party 1&2 and mouseovers was just too much so I just stuck with mouseover for all my pvp shenanigans. I mean it's not as bad as my multi glad partner who is still a full on clicker :)
Would it be possible for you to basically do an elevator pitch on selling RSham to me over Disc for long term PvP growth in arena specifically? I need some insanely strong convincing to stay on Shaman and enjoy Enh. With how Disc can contribute to kills and damage, and fundamentally does in 1 GCD what Shaman does in 3 GCDs (unless they add more buttons to Disc healing rotation, which is unlikely), I'm feeling crushed on RSham having not only no opportunities to deal damage, but the DPS rotation also being extremely bland (and zero burst damage CDs, even Stormkeeper was taken away). There's got to be something that I should be considering about RSham in the long term to decide whether to practice it instead of Disc. 🤔
Man I'm not all about that I'm just gonna be real. I, much like everyone else has their 3 criteria for a healer to main / play long term (1) Is it fun (2) Is it a playstyle you excel at at (3) Does it have a good pvp history in overall placement in the meta. If it fits it, great. If it doesn't, move on. Rsham is fun, it's a playstyle that most people can pick up quickly with utilizing your toolkit to be offensive, generally it's a struggling healer in most metas especially now with how dominant purge is. Lacks burst healing, lacks damage. Disc is fun for a lot of people, It's the best healer for most people as most players come from dps which is what disc essentially is, a dps that heals. Disc usually always has a standing in the meta even if it's not completely dominant. It can always perform well even after tunings. Right now disc is the best healer followed by pres.
Welcome fellow priest brother! Yes resto shaman healing is very weak. It just simply lacks numbers. There's no power, no potency, no burst healing. Combine that with lack of damage and the small windows of opportunities to utilize your offensive toolkit due to having such low healing stability, just knocks it down even further. RBGs currently, fair much better. Great spread healing, great toolkit and although not a demanding pick for rbgs, a good resto shaman will always put the brakes on a presvoker, disc priest and mw :)
My own lil transmog. Its just a combination of the shadowlands unchained gladiators set (chest x pants) with the Theurgic Starspeakers shaman tier pieces from shadowlands (hands x boots), Blightguards girdle (belt), Sterling Fortress Spaulders from vendors in torghast (shoulders), Cybergenetic Mechshades from draenor engineering, Normal doomhammer with Bulwark of Azzinoth :)
Love ur vids bro. I noticed keeping people up with shammie isn’t there with the burst and purge comps

I leveld a priest to 80 cuz resto sham healing was super weak for 3v3 now BGS is another story
