A refreshing perspective, to hear Japanese master(s) explaining/demonstrating about Chinese Kungfu with such insight. (And I consider Jeet Kune Do a form of Chinese Kungfu as well ... I mean, at least the name of the art is in Chinese, haha XD). Somehow, hearing it all in a different language and manner (besides Chinese and English) adds a new layer of inspiration for me. As Mr Miyahira says, "it's hard to explain". Haha! Thanks for sharing ! :D
Soooo good! Love all the videos! Seeing it slowed down really shows how airtight the motion is. The demonstration with ting jin was incredible -- as an observer it was easier to understand how to block too when seeing the defender's eyes closed, because the focus becomes the point where their bodies make contact.
I just stumbled upon this channel, and stunned because of its quality. No nonsense and out of shape masters, only real masters with practical and pragmatic skills
Very impressive. This Tai Chi master is legit and so is the JKD. Now these are masters who actually demonstrate the technical aspect of movements not just talking and showing you fake self defense moves.
Myahira Sensei is....😮 I have NO WORDS for him! His knowledge is universal!!! A true master of combine Body & Mind! Really, I've never seen a MASTER like him!!!🙏🏼☯️💚
If the eyes are closed, there is like a Zero Mind State because you have nothing to see and make you think of When or How the opponent is going to attack which thus clouds the proper Reaction and causing the delay. In other words it is the Reflex movement of the arm in this case of the video, with visual inputs the brain has to process the thought which takes some time. Like feeling a hot object you immediately withdraw without even seeing it or thinking that it is hot. Very nice demo.
Professor T. Miyashira was at a table with TV journalists from Japan and the kung fu practitioners were defeated one after another when facing the Kio kushin Karate practitioners. It was very embarrassing.
In Malaysia where my kung fu instructor came from mas oyamas top students got defeated by master phan, the Malaysian full contact coach, that was probably early 70s, my style uses pok kik as a base, it was formed by choy li fut master just for fighting, no forms.
These exercises are wonderful and powerful and require focus, and my question to you two wonderful trainers is there in the world of martial arts what are called dangerous points in the human body or the deadly touch dam mac
Dim mak is very difficult and not necessarily worthwhile. Chi meridians vary from person to person; you can just hit someone instead of trying to strike a meridian. Learning meridians is good for acupuncture, not necessarily fighting.
J'aime beaucoup cette chaîne et les arts martiaux... Beaucoup de pratiquants de sports de combats perdent l'essentiel de ces arts! Respect depuis la Suisse !🇨🇭
Incredible eternal fist. Taking less space and causing excessive damage through inner chi .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. Thank you SIFU you are true master. With respect from India Anirban Nandy.
Just normal. The brain doesn't have time to react at such short distance. When you stand still and in a position within arms reach, there is no way to stop an attack no matter how trained you are.
I wonder how well they'd do against a Judoka or Wrestler. I find stuff like this interesting love JKD. It's a lot of fun experimenting with different techniques.
No idea what the point of the first series was... That's similar to a jut sao in wing chun but the elbow position is outside here which makes it harder to "defend"... If the position is correct you can defend with just feeling... Other than that I have no idea what the point was... Also most of the contact drills must use forward spring energy to load otherwise it's not workable imo... For the series @12:16 if you are sensitive to energy leaving the line you can jao da or circle hit to negate his defense...
Slow down the video to 25%, and watch the first movement. He uses an ovular path, to fool the OP, and lands a shallow hit on the OPs chest. The movement is fast enough, that most people are only seeing his 2nd hand... not realizing that his first hand made contact.
@@johndough8115 So the first hand that is under the defender's hand lands correct? What is the attacker's second hand doing? If the first hand is landing then it's because it's too close and the position of the defender's arm is using weak structure... @3:12 .. At first the attacker retracts his hand then goes forward and follows with the other hand doing what? This is IMO very convoluted.. I don't see the point... Yes if you're close enough you can't react fast enough to stop it... Okay so? Turn the receiving hand into a fook sao (wrist to wrist) and use a jut sao -- now try it again -- distance will now be correct... And the attacker's 2nd hand shouldn't be doing anything... This lands in the original example simply because it's too close and defense structure is weak.... A better example to look at is dan chi sao from wing chun...

He said he’s only showing this as a circular energy transfer, it’s not some kind of technique.
