- Hi guys! In today's video, you will see a day in the life of a female truck driver, including my daily loading routine. You'll see how I position my truck at the loading gate and what it's like sleeping and waking up in a truck. I also want to show you how a vegetable spread called zakuszka looks, as it is a very popular summer treat in Romania. I will show you what I do when I'm not parking in a secured lot and my pre-trip vehicle inspection. I'll also make a delicious breakfast of tuna salad, and after that, we'll hit the road. Sorry for the long break, but I had some mechanical problems with my truck (clutch malfunctioning and air loss). I couldn't wait to be back. You'll also get to meet my lovely dog, Maci. Just finished a book written by George Bennett called “ Into The Distance”. He ran trucks down to the Middle East in the late 70’s and then ran from England to Romania in the early 80’s. Great book and he speaks highly of your country. He also did two podcasts in the Truck and Driver podcast. If you listen you will enjoy. Take care and safe travels.

hello Timea. What a great effort you put into your videos. And very informative also its like you are talking face to face with us. Just great. In Australia most trucks have what is called an Icepack, a seperate power unit to run the A/C at night or when ever the driver needs to sleep in the hot months. The down side to them is they are noisy. If one does not have one then the main engine can be run to keep the A/C going.The engine is run at a higher RPM than idle. I smile when you talk to Muthi your dog. You must chat to her in your own language. It sounds sweet. It is not so bad here in Australia, people are a bit more honest with Trucks stopped in Truck parking areas. It is not often that some thing gets stolen. Not always. There are dishonest people the world over.

Appreciate the time you took. I also run off the batteries when parked up. My outfit is much smaller than yours I must say. My truck has an air starter so I dont have to rely on the batteries. Greetings from Scotland! Hello again, Timea! Good to see you back behind the wheel! When I was watching your morning routine, I began thinking, I wondered how many female drivers there are currently in European trucking, like you! So I did some quick research. Apparently only 4% of European truck drivers are women! Of course, not knowing how many drivers there are in total, I have no figures for how many that is. I have always wanted to open a truck stop which catered for men and women drivers with good toilets/showers, good food and good parking/rest areas because I have always thought these facilities are very few and far between - but the setup costs are enormous of course! The other problem is, I'm getting too old to do this now.

Instaling a solar panel on the roof of your Scania could be really helpfull .This way you keep your batteries charged , and your air condition system works better. Its a pretty inexpensive intallation you should check it out.Hello from Greece

Hi glad you got your truck all sorted its a pain when they break down . I drive a scania 770s v8 and 2 weeks ago i was in Romania delivering fresh salmon fish from Scotland. It was hot weather from Germany all the way to Romania i am from Scotland and regularly deliver all over Europe. Will be going to spain next week . Then i am off for 2 weeks holiday . I guess that your truck doesn't have AC, or the battery isn't big enough to keeping it running. Perhaps Bluetti etc will sponsor you and you can buy a portable AC. The truck park looked really bad, like you say. Perhaps they should install sprinklers to wet the truck every 5 minutes - a huge amount of heat is removed by evaporation (google evaporative cooling for the physics)
Doe's your company give you a company credit card for emergencies in case you have a major break down. and have you ever tried those baby wipe things for cleaning yourself in case you run out of water. it's good to see you are back. have a good one and stay safe.
