I followed the directions precisely for the baby size. I can't imagine this size hat fitting anything but the smallest of micro preemies. What did I do wrong?
I am crocheting along with you, and the hat is tiny. Is this for a mini? If so, could you please give the pattern, and stitch increase for a toddler? Thank you for the tutorial super cute!
Piper Tudhope Hi Piper, It may just be that your gauge is tighter so I would recommend trying to increase the size of your crochet hook to 7mm. I usually find that my work comes out smaller than most as I have small crochet guage. I hope this helps, thank you for watching! x
Oh no! LOL. I totally looked over that. I will use a bigger hook next time. I am very new to crochet, and I am learning through videos posted by crochet experts like you, and I thank you so much for taking the time to make them for newbies like me. Reading patterns is super hard for me, it is easier to crochet along. I love this hat. I hope I get it. I was increasing, continuously, because my hat was small enough to fit my cat, Lol. I went from 1 SC in as much as 12 stitches to double SC in 13, and up and up, around and around. :-\ then I put a double SC in every stitch around, because the increase was so slow, and it looked like a really cute witch hat. LOL. Thought never crossed my mind it was gauge. Uhhhhh.....
I really appreciate that you have taken the time to produce this video, especially being that I am a crochet-a-holic, but when you come up to the 4 or 5 rows of single crochet (25:00 minutes into this video) it is strikingly clear that your directions are to continue working in a single crochet for the remainder of the pattern. Upon doing so, my hat looks much too skinny to fit around a head. Were you intentions to state that we are to continue to double stich every few stitches? Thanks in Advance, Dana
You will need to continue the pattern increase to fit a baby head which is 12-15 inches. With the 6.5 mm and SC, I'm looking at 45 or 48 stitches before stopping the increase.
I followed the directions for a TODDLER size, and then added an additional 5 rows (so far) with increasing stitches, and it is still too small for a BABY. :(
CWs Mama It seems everyone is having this problem. I am a fairly experienced crocheter and there is no way this is fitting on the head of any babies I know, unless they are the size of a Pixie LOL I ended up frogging the whole thing. Oh well, live and learn.
Beautiful!! Thank you so much!! There is no channel like yours!!

Thank you! Just made one.
What happened to ROUND 9?
What about if you are using a light weight yarn? Do you just continue to increase until you get it to the size you need?
Is there a written pattern for this hat? Thank you for the video!

Comes out entirely too small to fit a baby, much less a toddler. What babies did you make these for? Not human babies.
What am I doing wrong :-(

I'm sorry but I don't see any way this will fit a toddler
