  • I start out with a plan to scout out the outposts where I saw the tanks and APCs last time around, though I also decide that capturing them may be a good idea. Turns out airstrikes are completely useless. On the other hand, kneecapping people apparently makes the USAF like you more.

    Those aircraft are like WWI biplanes...? A Cessna would struggle to stay airborne at that low speed.

    I think those bottom tier troopers are supposed to represent soldiers recruited from the local population.

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому +3

      I'd agree on that one, I see them as the local military. Assuming Greece was part of NATO in the year the game is set, it'd make sense if you started off rebelling against the local military and then as you get more hostile the soldiers which look more like US troops start appearing (as NATO support from overseas). It would also make the way you can only recruit the lower tier soldiers sensible- as if you're asking them to defend their home the way your resistance is.

    when i first started antistasi i ran into the bug of dropping the items after barely walking and died about 5 times

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому +2

      It definitely has to be one of the more annoying bugs with the mission file... My personal favourite is when you try to put the base assets in cover so you don't have to worry about being shot while accessing the arsenal for example- then they just ping off into space and cave in your skull on the way up

  • @hamstercow6219

    Its probably something to do with the planes being used in the strikes being shit biplanes, the whole spawn mid-air low-flying thing seems like its made for faster bombers, same with the dropping early to account for horizontal momentum. I think airstrikes use your own planes (not sure) but if they do, try garaging some nicer planes. I couldn't really find info on airstrikes online for antistasi though.

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому +2

      I'm pretty sure it was because they spawned over a low-lying area and I was on top of a hill. If they maintained a specific altitude on their approach then locked it while they prepared to drop their bombs, it would make sense that they released too early in this case as the bombs would naturally carry some forward momentum. As for using other planes, as far as I can tell they only use biplanes unless you specifically recruit AI units to organise your own bombing missions. Donating aircraft to the resistance will only add to the total number of airstrikes you have available at that time and garaged vehicles are specific to each player.

    I'd love to know how you place markers on the map and then are able to see them whilst you drive around. As when I do shift t my team mates are never able to see them.

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  3 роки тому +1

      To get waypoints you shift + left click on the map. Only you can see these markers, not your team.

    I noticed you are clicking only once on an item to transfer how do you one click it? It forces me to click and drag every time I want to move something and it’s frustrating especially when I can’t get a weapon in time after being incognito. I’m still trying to get a weaponized vehicle like a mounted hummer or an m2 Bradley (apc) I hit them with rpg’s but I’ve never been able to get away from a fire fight and get back in time to snag one. But the hit and run tactics using incognito are helping me progress

    • @JackArden

      Either right click or double left click to transfer from an inventory.

    Bro this series is the shit btw I subscribed so like keep the ARMA 3 Antistasi coming please.the reason is because I’m trying to get it also you got any ideas on what laptop I could get on the low end that runs Arma 3 Antistasi

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому +4

      Thank you for subscribing! I'm aiming for an antistasi video every monday for the foreseeable future so you can be sure they'll keep coming.
      As for your laptop it's important to remember ArmA games are always VERY intensive on the CPU. Don't fall for any "gaming" laptop advertisement where they include a decent GPU but skimp out on the CPU. You NEED that CPU power to run this game at any decent frame rate. Obviously you'll benefit from picking up a laptop with a dedicated GPU- again, don't fall for advertisements, many laptops are marketed as having a GPU when it's actually integrated CPU graphics which is terrible for this game as that puts all the load on the CPU which already is a massive issue.
      I'm not sure how good of a laptop you'll get on a budget though, it's difficult to recommend when I don't know the actual budget but you might be better off looking at second hand laptops so you can get better performance for your money. I'd honestly go as far as saying you're better off building a desktop rather than getting a laptop which can run this game if you're on a budget. I understand that not everyone has the room for a desktop or you may need the portability for other tasks, but there are some pretty good deals around on components which you just can't take advantage of when buying a laptop.
      Always do as much research as you can, both on specific components of the system you want to buy as well as the actual system itself. Websites like system requirements lab can give you some more detailed recommended and required specs than steam pages would so make sure the system actually runs the game before you buy!
      Apologies for the long reply, but I hope this helps you!

      A year late, but for anyone who sees this in the future:
      Jack is putting it very politely. I personally doubt it is possible to run Arma 3 with the Antistasi mission without melting a laptop. You're probably going to be playing a slideshow in any fight with multiple enemies/vehicles.
      Speed of single core is important. This is more than just the base clock speed -- also includes the various other processor attributes like cache size, bus size, etc. etc. For the same GHz clock speed, an i9 is better than i7 is better than i5. I don't have one, but by the specs and test results for single core, looks like Intel still performs better AMD, at the i9 vs Ryzen 9 level.
      Arma 3, like most games, even 64-bit, only takes advantage of more than 2 GB system RAM. They do not effectively use multiple cores. 32 GB RAM is about the most that a PC will usually need to run Arma 3, b/c the game tends to max out around 8 GB, if I remember correctly.
      However, I notice that Jack is running several headless clients. Possibly a dedicated server instance of Arma 3 as well? On my old and new i7, I felt like I was able to get some decent performance out of running 2 instances of Arma 3 per physical processor. So I had two PCs: the new PC running the server and 2 headless clients, and my old PC running the player's instance of Arma 3 and 1 more headless client. This meant that I was allocating about 16-24 GB RAM to Arma on each of two computers. This was about as good as any one somewhat normal player can achieve with available PC hardware around the house. It was good enough for 2-4 players, if we kept our view distances and mission parameters (AI etc) low. Renting a virtual server with much better specs to host the Arma 3 dedicated server and headless clients would be the next step for improvement (though mostly only needed if playing with 5+ people).
      Overclocking only caused the processor to get a lot hotter, for very little perceptible performance gain. Reducing game parameters (numbers of AI, locations, etc.) gave the biggest performance boosts. Everything still went to shit with extremely large battles. Most players don't understand how processor intensive Arma 3 is, especially with AI units and physics calculations from ACE ballistics.

      Glad you got it sorted! Yes the gear and vehicles are added by RHS. It's a pretty huge mod so you can get a lot of fun out of it, especially if you've never touched it before.

    Couple questions, For some reason my game (based on a3 altis antistasi) isnt giving me bounties for killing enemies; how can I fix that?
    And how many upgrades do I have to put into my men before they stop taking k98s?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  2 роки тому

      Your first question may be based on the version of the mission you're playing. A lot of different versions have subtle differences, even the version I used is different now than when this video was made if you subscribe on the same workshop page. Unless you want to add this yourself to the mission by editing it, try a different version maybe?
      AI upgrades don't affect the weapons they take from the boxes unfortunately, it seems you need to have a weapon unlocked in an infinite amount before the AI will take it from the box. Even then, it's random which ones they pick and this mission only supports base game weapons or RHS ones for AI recruitment. If it's for a garrison, you're at the mercy of RNG. If it's for your own squad, drop bags with gear in and use AI control to outfit them.

      @@JackArden I actually figured out the first one by mistake, I've been running this in a solo lan server because I thought that's how you did single player ; And apparently the mp version of the mod doesn't give you money for each kill; AND it takes your player characters voice away; as well as just generally being less stable.
      As for the second I got a couple weapons unlocked and now they will occasionally take those; Half the time they'll still take K98s and m3 grease guns if I'm lucky, but now there's the odd m16 and sniper rifle thrown in the mix.

    when i use the aresenal i cant get ammo with my guns how do i get ammo from it?

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому +3

      You need to select equipment with storage space to be able to add ammunition to your loadout. This means either your uniform, vest or bag needs to be selected. On the right side (where previously you would have had attachment options when selecting your weapons) you get options for picking items to take with you. You have a few options here, one gives you only ammunition that fits your selected weapons, one gives you all ammunition you own (the difference will be immediately obvious from the size of the list), one gives you explosives (like grenades and charges) and the other is misc items (like FAKs and toolkits).

    Wasn’t there an option to offer surrendered soldiers a chance to join you?

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  5 років тому

      As far as I know it depends entirely on the soldier's class. Low-ranking USAF soldiers in the rebel vs government mode can be recruited but high-ranking USAF soldiers and the Gendarmerie can't. When the AFRF/invasion (so the reb-vs-gov-vs-inv or reb-vs-gov+inv modes) is enabled they can be recruited while surrendered. Both recruiting and generally releasing are done with the "release POW" option which is a little weird. It'd be nice to be able to pick which to offer them.

    • @matthewjones39
      @matthewjones39 2 роки тому

      Basically, the low level soldiers join you and the higher level soldiers that are actually in a real army will lower the faction’s aggression.

  • @Phapchamp

    No no no no you don't put an RPG to the turret of a tank in the front that's like strongest part of a tank you put it in the back or sides of the hull and maaaybe turret back.

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  Рік тому

      Turret front has the highest chance of killing the crew from what I remember. Point of impact is the closest to both the gunners and driver compared to hitting it in any other location so when you can't disable in one hit it's generally the best choice.

    • @Phapchamp
      @Phapchamp Рік тому

      @@JackArden The thing is if you disable the engine they will simply all dismount and its so easy to disable it. Turrets have highest HP in arma tanks so you do have higher chance of killing crew but you need to get through its "hp". I personally had more luck that way.
      Also are you thinking about doing another anistasi run where you try different stuff? They turned anistasi into a mod and updated/changed a lot of stuff very recently. Especially the difficulty when you play it singleplayer. They also integrated ACE. Maybe try Rebels vs Gov vs Invaders? So you can have more toys to play with.

    • @JackArden
      @JackArden  Рік тому

      Can't really recall the context of what you first mentioned from this video but it's not always possible to get a disabling angle, especially on these RHS vehicles. It's tracks from the side or a rear direct hit or bust. 100% different to A3 base vehicles which are all made of paper. They may have updated them since these videos were released, but they were paper from the tracks, unstoppable from the front so you didn't really have an option but to look to disable the crew instead of the vehicle.
      Oh great, how much of ACE is required? Really not a fan of that mod outside of the interaction menu. It would also need to have a much more different playstyle than what I've already tried otherwise I'll get bored of it fast. After hundreds of hours of playtime making videos for the game it's not fun anymore.

    • @Phapchamp
      @Phapchamp Рік тому

      @@JackArden Hmm no it isn't any different from what is going on in this video. It's just now you can change factions and they added new UI more vehicles and they made it so enemy is balanced according how many players are in the server. ACE opens up a lot of potentials like SVBIED'ing road patrols or using tanks as makeshift artillery additional realism stuff. It's not that much different though. I didn't try disabling ACE stuff so far so idk about it.
