Chrome/metal polish and a buffing wheel works better than any lens restore kit. It’s cheaper and works to give them back that crystal clear look

If you actually dip the chrome pieces in oven cleaner it'll strip it and it'll be black behind it

if you use regular halogen bulbs it will be, leds are bright enough to not need reflectors. painting it glossy will allow some light to reflect off of a painted surface whereas a matte paint wont. infact, its better to paint it black with leds because it can be too bright for other people on the road

@Hriddhi Debnath I want to do this with my WRX headlights, does black paint on the reflector portion effect the light output of the high beams and/or the side markers? It looks super sick to have them blacked out, but I'm worried it will impact the light output. Thank you!

I've done mine today I did not preheat i just set to 200 degrees and left it in for 10 mins came off super easy and did the same when I put it back together just left it in for 5 mins but it was my first time and it was easy and came out great

Yep put on Bake 200° for 8 mins.

3m window weld ribbon sealer. It's just a butyl tape
