Thank you for the "no blending" idea! I learned about that from you in one of your braid-out vids a while back and it makes doing twist outs and braid outs less time consuming and it def helps retain great definition.
Not sure if someone answered, but she means that when you're twisting two pieces of hair togther, a lot of times one piece will be shorter than the other. sometimes people, myself included, will split the longer peice in half and blend it with shorter, so that you get a twist all the way to the bottom. This tends to create tangles when removing the twists. Instead you could twirl the bottom around your finger to coil. I'm hard headed though, I keep on "borrowing" hair because I like the look.
I LOVE how to the point you are with your videos. I've watched several and they all have the same characteristics: informative, easy to follow, well explained and concise. Thank you for sharing your tips. ^.^
I've been twisting my daughter's hair every three weeks for the last several months and have noticed minimal length retention. There's so much breakage when I take them out. This helps me out TREMENDOUSLY!! Her hair length should have exceeded mine, but it hasn't. Protective styling matters little if removing the protective style causes breakage.
Really great information - I have been tempted to put mini twists in for a while now but I was worried about the time management factor of the put in/take out process - you make it seem effortless! I'm in! THANKS!!
omg you make it look so easy. and your lovely hair looks amazingly healthy. i had no idea that not borrowing hair was so important. i borrow hair all the time and have the hardest time taking down my twists.....agravating. it's just always so uneven when i get to the bottom. thanks for the knowledgable vid
Hey girl! I don't know if I already commented on this but THANK YOU! I haven't been able to use this method yet, but I will. Anyway I FINALLY made my natural hair journey video if you wanna seeeee it! Thanks for your support! You are a rare gem!
i just put in mini twist...and my hair is super short and it came out nice. I am planning on taking them down this weekend so I"m glad you posted this video.
So many helpful tips, thanks! I just recently took down my mini-twists and I wish I had used this technique. The take down was easy but washing was not fun. I really needed to have done the preping you showed here...will definitely do this next time!
Oh wow that is a great idea! I had so much breakage when i took out my mini twist. I do it the same way as you except i didn't use water or oil and that is one the the reasons i didn't do them again yet, but now i will do them and use your method. Thanks for sharing!
thank you so much for this, i thought i was never gonna do them again because I had so much breakage during my last take down, i was partly impatient too!! I see how easy it was for you to do it this way and I wonder how come i didn't think of this and then i thought, duh danielle, thats why you follow naptural85, HELLO, LOL!! Thanx again for this, I think I may go ahead and put them in for the exam period thats coming up!!
Thank you so much Whitney! I love my mini twists and I redid the front and the take down was as easy as pie. I also washed them using your method. You are WONDERFUL!
I am taking mine out tomorrow and am dreading it! Thanks for the tips! Another way to make the process a little easier is to take them down over a week and wear a twist out. This worked well for me last time.
Not bad! Dont know if I should put mini twists in... still debating upon the subject... two and half hours not bad in taking them down... It seems so easy when you do it.. Dont know if I have the patiences! Thank you for sharing...
Now if I was smart I would have watched this before I started removing my twist. Also if I was smart I would've followed the advice to only keep them in for 3 weeks... Oops I may just have locks lol
Okay, I counted 14 sayings of twist, twisting & twisted..yes I'm bored today LOL!! You are my hair idol...I'm striving to be where you are 1 year from now
Hello Naptural85!! How are you doing? I just want to say that not only is your hair gorgeous but I think you have the best music! Do you compose it yourself? Oh but I did have a quick question-where did you purchase the coconut oil from? And what are some of the ways that you can use coconut oil? The reason I ask is that I absolutely love all things coconut and it would be awesome to incorporate coconut oil into my weekly routine.
This vid is hella old but thank you. I've been pulling my mini twist out recklessly for years and wonder my I can't retain length. I wish I had seen this when it was posted.😢
thanks for the tips your hair is beautiful. I always have a problem with taking my twists out due to shed hair tangling and the ends being dry and. I will try the cocconut oil...I just love the smell. Thanks again!
thank you for all your great videos! I love your professionalism and respect in that you don't use profanity...that can be such a turn-off! but great job and I love your hair!
Love your hair! I'm definitely picking up some hair styles from your channel. Never done mini twists before, see it as a great hairstyle for when I start travelling :)
if only i watched this and did same for the last three sets of mini twists i did. Now i have tonnes of breakage in the crown cause i went in and washed without detangling properly... Wet hair and tangles not a good combo. OK so i guess that was my lesson for this part of the journey. Now that i know what i did wrong , i can give up on the plan to lock and go back to my favourite hairstyle!!! I love my mini twists !
Thanks so much for this video! I don't know if you know this or not but I can never view your videos on my iphone I don't know if it's the way you format your videos or what. I have mini twist in now and was wondering how in the world could i make the take down process easier. I'm also wondering if you wash your hair while in the mini twist as well.
I love your hair. ONE question though, how do you deal with bed hair or flat hair? I wake up some mornings and my hair is FLAT. Can you make a tutorial demonstrating how you get out of that? I know it's very self explanatory but Im newly natural with this problem. Also, do you stretch your hair?
Thank you for making a series if videos on Minnie twists I can't wait to try it myself. I just had one question. What brand is your coconut oil and where could I purchase it?
Nice Video! I just took out my mini twists..sure wish I had looked for a video first. Each time I do the mini twists I dread taking them out. My hair is very coarse and when I leave them in for a month I absolutely hate taking them out! And yes I do blend the ends because I just didn't know what to do.....thanks for that tip of not doing that :-)
Is there a separate type of coconut oil for cooking and for hair? Because I purchased some from Trader Joe's and after i left it in for a few days, it started to smell. I have stopped using it since but i would really like to continue. Thank you for your input
Ok, I missed a couple of steps. I had A LOT of shedding when I washed my hair, but I don't know if that was due to reapplying the cocobut oil and not using the wide-tooth comb to detangle or the clarifying shampoo (Kinky Kurly Come Clean). BTW, I haven't used shampoo in months. Your thoughts?
Hi.. Im not sure if you alrdy answerd this b4..but how do you wash your hair while the mini twist are in? do they come unraveled? they last time I really washed my hair with twist..most of the twist came unraveled..
Using this method, I lost very little hair than using the conditioner takedown without taking out the twist method. Thank You Thank You Thank You Again...
The twists looked nice after you untwist them...like another style in themself, but I know if you had not detangled it would have tangled badly...Love the video...some good tips in there.
@TenkiTench go to whole foods or any store that sells all natural foods and buy it there I buy the same exact one she uses at whole foods and it does not make my hair smell
Can you pleeeezzzz tell me where to get that type of coconut oil that you showed on here. Can't find it no where! Possibly a website? Thanking you in advance...
Well I wish I had watched your vids before I didi my kinky twists...because I was adding hair from the other side and when I took them out I had crazy knots....I had to cut some of the knots out....GGGRRRRR....great vids
its much easier to dampen your hair with water and conditioner, then use a shower brush/tangle teaser starting at the end. it takes literally 30 or so minutes. if you do this style...invest in a one dollar shower brush...youll save time and reduce breakage also :D
Thank you for the "no blending" idea! I learned about that from you in one of your braid-out vids a while back and it makes doing twist outs and braid outs less time consuming and it def helps retain great definition.
I was wondering why I had so many knots when I was taking down my twists! Thank you so much, I will never blend the two sides again. You're awesome!
Not sure if someone answered, but she means that when you're twisting two pieces of hair togther, a lot of times one piece will be shorter than the other. sometimes people, myself included, will split the longer peice in half and blend it with shorter, so that you get a twist all the way to the bottom. i know this video is quite old but it just helped me and i love the music at the Background.

this mini twist series was sooo helpful. taking down the twists is where i have the most trouble. i just get so impatient. you have some great tips.
13 years later and this is still relevant 🥺❤️

Just started my mini twist growth journey and didn't take them down yet but these tips you gave in this video are super helpful. Thank you🙏🏽

I love the music she used

Thanks for posting!!! Removing the twists was my concern. Idk when I'll do MICRO/mini twists yet. I dont have the patience right now lol.
Okay, I counted 14 sayings of twist, twisting & twisted..yes I'm bored today LOL!! You are my hair idol...I'm striving to be where you are 1 year from now
I use this same method when taking out my braids. You've very healthy hair👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

You have no idea how much help you are!!!!
Great tip! I'm one of those who blend twists and it's annoying taking them down. I'll try your method next time. Thanks!
thanks for the tips your hair is beautiful. I always have a problem with taking my twists out due to shed hair tangling and the ends being dry and. I will try the cocconut oil...I just love the smell. Thanks again!
wow your hair is so shiny!!! is that just coconut oil or whatelse do you find makes your hair more shiny!
thank you for all your great videos! I love your professionalism and respect in that you don't use profanity...that can be such a turn-off! but great job and I love your hair!
I have them in now...I hate putting them in and taking them out! Buts it's definitely worth it! How long did you have them in?

Hello, are you still using and making the flax seed gel? your hair looks great and very healthy.
I'm planning on taking my mini twist out tomorrow. I've had them in for about 2 weeks which is how long they usually last. Very helpful video! :-)

This is an excellent video! You have a lot of discipline and great techniques. Thank you for sharing!!
I am taking mine out tomorrow and am dreading it! Thanks for the tips!
Are you doing rope twists as opposed to regular 2 strand twists.(when you do rope twists, you twirl each section of hair as you twist).
Nice Video! I just took out my mini twists..sure wish I had looked for a video first. Each time I do the mini twists I dread taking them out. My hair is very coarse and when I leave them in for a month I absolutely hate taking them out! i love ur lil side comments! :-) and the what instrumental is that??
This is the length of my hair now....so tempted to try!
Can you make a video on how you moisturize your hair and scalp while your hair is in twists?
Is there a separate type of coconut oil for cooking and for hair? Because I purchased some from Trader Joe's and after i left it in for a few days, it started to smell. I have stopped using it since but i would really like to continue. Thank you for your input

Your thoughts?
Where do you get your music from? It is so soothing.
i will die a jealous woman! your hair is so springy, it always makes me happy (hheeeyyyy that rhymes!) :)
How long did you keep your twist you? The looked so neat from beginning to end. My twist are fuzzy after two weeks.
Hi.. Im not sure if you alrdy answerd this b4..but how do you wash your hair while the mini twist are in? do they come unraveled? they last time I really washed my hair with twist..most of the twist came unraveled..

i'm curious, do you ever blow dry and or flat iron your hair? I never with my hair, to be honest I'm afraid of heat. :-(
I could literally watch you do your hair 24/7 ...
You have the best curls eveeeeer! :)

@TenkiTench go to whole foods or any store that sells all natural foods and buy it there I buy the same exact one she uses at whole foods and it does not make my hair smell

Take care!
great video!!
girl you have the most beautiful hair.
You hair is so pretty.
I LOVEEE YOUR VIDEOS!
Great tips! Thanks.
I use coconut oil daily to moisturize, will that loosen my twist?
I think you can make a hairstyle out of the curls that come from the twists BEFORE combing it out
Did you wash your hair while twisted? If so.......how?
its much easier to dampen your hair with water and conditioner, then use a shower brush/tangle teaser starting at the end. it takes literally 30 or so minutes. if you do this style...invest in a one dollar shower brush...youll save time and reduce breakage also :D
@lovewater1 yeah i am the same, but if i don't blend them, they unravel at the speed of light! lol :)
