If you are interested in purchasing one, email me at toolreviewzone@gmail.com for details
You are a patient and very talented my brother, looks beautiful!!
Thanks bro 👊
Awesome video. I figured it was done with a circular saw cutting shallow grooves then wood chisel ....You saved me a lot of time
Wow, i need to thank you! I just finished making mine and this video was my teacher! It turned out great!
That's so awesome. Thanks so much for letting me know John!!!
Man, I give you props
Takes a lot of sanding and grinding
Couple tips for ya: I used a vinyl sticker i made on my vinyl cutter instead of a stiff stencil so that it conforms to the curves and looks a lot more natural. Then take a sand blaster and blast the stars out after you stain the entire square. You get the same look, takes 10 minutes to get a nice depth and the outline is spot on. Also, i used black acrylic paint and used it like a stain and wiped it off right away. Results are amazing. Great video by the way.
Check out Kutzall grinder disks for very safe, and smooth carving. You can find them on Amazon. You can also look for Graff grinder disks, which are a bit less expensive than the Kutzall, or if you have the wallet for it, Arbortech. Of these 3, the Kutzall disks are my favorite.
This is great. I think some abstract waves on a live edge piece of wood would look spectacular! I thnk I'm going to try this!
Excellent video. Truly enjoyed how you narrated through it explaining the steps. Awesome
Thanks so much stacy. Happy you enjoyed it!
Great project. I think I will try this on soon. Glad to see the dust collection bag is still going strong.
Definitely get the chain Carver. Much faster and easier and yeah the dust collection is awesome. Thanks for the comment John!
That turned out great clint! Good work!
Thanks buddy, I truly appreciate it!
This was great! I have never carved anything but looks interesting!
Messy too bro!
I see an Arbortech turbo-plane in your future! Great work👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Wow it's funny that you mentioned that Alan cause I was just looking at them on line lol. Not cheap though. Like $150
Nice job!!!❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️🇺🇸
Thanks Pete!
Great work! Very Creative.
Thanks Richard!!!
Great video. Definitely gonna make one. It would be WAY better with no music in the background. !
Great job!!. Good choice not waiting for chain disc. Very dangerous. Pro carvers won"t use them.
Awesome project and very well done.
Thanks oddjob!
Well done bro. That flag looks awesome!!!
Thanks Jason!
Love it! Cant wait to do a waving flag for my collection! I think if you wiped the stain and did a second coat it would have done better, he sounds like james franco lol loved his video I'm trying to clean the house I put this on and got distracted, and that poly thick is amazing!
Looks awesome 👍👍👍
This is awesome I have to do it
The spray can of triple thick works really well too
AWESOME JOB, BRO! I like the "How to" videos
Thanks bro! Hope all is well broski!
awesome job sir
Thanks Floyd!!!
Wow 😮..#Respect 👍
Thanks buddy 👊
Nice job man, Good video!
Thanks Matt!!!
Did you say 6 hours total to complete this project? If so, hats off and fantastic craftsmanship.
Thanks Ken! Yeah this one took around 6 hours, but now that I am using the Turbo Plane, its down into about 4. Thanks for the comment!
@@ToolReviewZone So about 20 dollars an hour, plus materials, plus overhead, plus shipping?
I would price them about around $250 plus shipping then go from there. Believe it or not, shipping costs is not bad using USPS, and material is super cheap. I had a ton of orders at first in my area, they everyone started copying me and selling them too. I could still get $175 easy per flag, but the time it took to build was my only issue and couldn't keep up with the demand
Amazing work you have definitely motivated me to attempt this. It also gives me a reason to buy more tools haha. I see you said Amazon for the flag stencil, was there a specific size you got for that. I just want to make sure everything is proportional. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the awesome comment. I think I have a link in the description, but I think it was a 7x10 if I remember correctly 🤔
Beautiful work.
Thanks Bob!!!
Yeah that stain is a pain. I've used it many times and it seems to take days to fully dry.
Yeah bro, definitely takes a while
Nice work mate 😎
Thanks David!
Awesome video. Great project, and great outcome! Where did you get the star stencil from?
Thanks Jeff! You can get them cheap on Amazon
Great job! What were the final dimensions of the flag?
Thanks Kenny! I think it ended up 37 long and 19 wide
Awesome job Clint...Question? Where did you get those specific pipe clamps?
What is the finished weight ?
Those chain disks scare the crap out of me. Sketchy sketchy!
I use a different one now. The turbo plane disc
I thought the country of U S of A colors was Red White and Blue? What this black and white?
How much do you charge for something like that?
What exactly do you mean when you say "feather out" the ripples?
Smooth them out
Star stencil can be found here amzn.to/2Io21Cz
Did you get the chain disk? Review?? Wondering if it is worth it.
Actually shot it yesterday and will have it up tonight bro
What kind of pipe clamps are those red ones and what diameter pipe did you use? Thanks in advance
Bessy and 3/4"
Home depot's lumber makes me sick to my azz.🤣
Hahaha, yeah I can't argue that. It took me a while to find these boards out of a new stack.
Where did you purchase the star stencil from?
Amazon
It looks awesome brother man you should make one donated to veterans organization I think they would love it cuz I do take care of your wife and kids and yourself man check out my videos if you can thank you
How much $$$ I'm willing to pay to get that home
Hey Texan. I will probably never make these this thick again, so for this one in the video you probably looking at $250 shipping included. If interested, shot me an email at toolreviewzone@gmail.com
Tool Review Zone You mentioned not going as thick. Would you be able to make one out of 1 x 6 stock and have enough material to still put waves in? Loved the video and would like to try this.
I actually made one with 1" stock. It's a bit this and the waves won't be as prominent, but can be done. Check out the video I did called (wood carving tool for beginners) I did it again and think it came out better
Never use that chain Saw carver most dangerous thing there is
Watch what happened to stumpy nubs on you tube with the chainsaw disk
Woodglut has a lot of plans to choose from.
I really like your approach and your video....BUT, I have never seen an American flag that is monochrome black and white. What the.....?? Why not red, white and blue?!? I think it would have looked far better with the actual colors.
Thanks for the comment, but you've never seen that before?? Really??
@@ToolReviewZone --Well, yes, I have seen people make black and white flags before. What I meant was I have never seen an actual American flag that is black and white. Seems like quite a bit of work....I just think that it would have looked better using the actual colors, to make it look like the flag we see every day. You did a great job....just, to me, an odd choice of color. Just saying.
