  • Nick Gazzard is the founder of the Hollie Gazzard Trust, as well as a guest lecturer at Gloucestershire University. Following the murder of his daughter Hollie by her former boyfriend in February 2014, Nick felt strongly that something positive should come out of her death. As a result, he set up the Hollie Gazzard Trust, as well as a smartphone personal safety app - ‘Hollie Guard’ - in her memory. Today, ten years on from Hollie’s murder Nick reflects on the horrific events, the decision to set up a trust in her name and how he feels to have played a part in saving the lives of many young women through the app.

God bless this poor man and his family. I recently watched a documentary on Holly, its easy for everyone to ask why she didnt leave, but unless we were in the situation, we can never truly know 😢

It would be impossible to leave someone who literally knows wherever you are and controls your every move without horrific consequences like what happened to Hollie as he couldn’t take no and that she had split with him which is why he killed her men like him are so dangerous so taking immediate action is so crucial in dv cases 😪😪😔

Why is he in jail costing the the taxpayer money ? ,When a trip to the USA and a date with Old Sparky would deal with this detestable excuse for a Human BUZZ BUZZ FRY Job Done May She Rest In Peace

Somehow I don't think he'll be any better than he was in 2014 if you let him out now or in the next 30 or 40 years.

If you knew anything about dv you would know it is incredibly hard to leave a relationship with a man like that. She had tried to leave days before. The police were involved yes failed to understand the severity. How can you blame a young 20yr old woman for this. It is attitudes like yours that perpetuate misogyny and toxicity.

Educate yourself before you comment 🙄 If you knew anything about this story then you would of known she did leave him and he killed her because of it!

@@naomiburke7233 I replied to what I heard. But many times women know the danger and stay. If that man was a killer. Her instinct should have told her. It's a gift woman are given.
