It's absolutely shocking after what she did that she is not incarcerated. As the saying goes, she got away with murder....
She did, she got a great plea deal by downplaying her involvement. Plus her lawyer helped her get the deal knowing the rapes existed and her involvement. Even worse, she had kids after getting out and volunteered at her kids public school. And she married her lawyers brother, it's sickening...

Believe me, we who live in Ontario are all disgusted by this whole story and situation. She is just as much to blame concerning the deaths of her sister, Leslie and Kristen. I believe she now lives in Quebec somewhere and has children of her own. She has changed her name as well. But her face is so recognizable that the change of name doesn't do anything to hide her.
Quebec don't care as much as Ontario. She was allowed to volunteer at a school in Montreal.
She's now fluent in French and has done Radio Canada interviews. Every now and then she makes the news because her kids are in school now and the parents don't want her to volunteer. She is the devil reincarnate. I often wondered about her immediate family. They seemed to have supported her during the trial. I mean she's responsible for her sister, Tammy's death! They support her now? She should be in prison for life!

I remember this very clearly , she got a plea deal,which was disgusting, she was able to change her name when she got out of jail, married her lawyers brother , had kids and lives her life like nothing happened… pretty sick , way to go Canada …

Last I heard she lives in Quebec and tried to volunteer at her kids school but when the parents found out who she really is they were mortified and complained to the school. So she can't volunteer there.

I remember the fear at the time, living and working in Scarborough. He got a girl in a church parking lot at Sewells Road in Scarborough across from the mall. We could hear the shrieking from our apartment but it was dark behind the church and we couldn't see anything but we called police right away. Karla should not be free. I pity her children. She married her defense lawyer.
We lived near guildwood Go station during that time.

I remember watching this as a pre-teen on the local news with my parents, growing up in the next town over, it was pretty scary at that age
I will NEVER forget this story. I was a young adult living in Toronto at the time. I will NEVER forget the pictures of the two girls all over the news and especially Kristen. May he ROT in prison and NEVER come out. She should still be in prison too.
So much tragedy from these two evil people; including her sister's death.

That happened near me. She is out, free as a bird, has a few kids, unfrkng believable! I believe you might have said she said that there were video tapes when I am pretty sure she didn't mention them- thus "the deal with the devil" was made. They found the tapes after and seen the full extent of her evilness but apparently too late/unable to prosecute her further. He has been applying for a less restrictive prison but not sure if it was granted. Hopefully not. R.i.p. to all of their victims. 🙏💔

Bernardos lawyer hid the tapes until after Karla was imprisoned.
She should have never been allowed free.
The lawyer didn't have the tapes, the tapes were in the house in the attic/in the roof somewhere, which shocked police because they did a pretty huge search of the house

Just came here to comment that Karla was recently working with young children, is married with her own children now. Bernardo just got moved to a medium security prison, where he gets access to tons of amenities and outdoors

I'm guessing her parents and family aren't so forgiving to the murder of her baby sister. Don't understand why she wasn't given life without parole, her plea deal wasn't needed as there was condaming evidence with the video tapes! Makes me sick to the stomach.

There is a whole TV movie about this from years ago, two law and order episodes didbbed the ken and barbie episodes... so many shows, documentaries and podcasts.

Not only she's walking free but Bernardo got possibility of parol after 25 years. Not like the video said 21:31. He became eligible in 2018.
