Thank you for your explanation & concern for everyone's safety when using chainsaws.
I also want to thank you for having the courage to speak english.
I assume it is not your 1st language.
However, you spoke very clearly & this very important warning is now available for millions of people around the world.
    Well done from Australia

Thanks for the video, the computer graphics really spell out the whole risky business and how kickback is an ever present danger. Concentration 100% the whole time you pick up the chainsaw, even be switched on before you approach the jobsite. You have to be in the right frame of mind- no alcohol, no drugs. Total mind on safety, including preplanning a chainsaw job and risk identification. Thanks again, a little thought before you get started with a chainsaw can save a lot of grief later.

Now I know what is a rotational kickback. The animation is VERY HELPFUL! Thanks a lot.
Just want to point out that 5:14 is called Pull-in and 5:29 is Pull-in by some.
I also like you pointing out in the end that PPE is very important.
    Great job and thanks again!

I borrowed and used a chainsaw for the first time today and experienced a mild kickback. My father had warned me about that, so I was being cautious, but I must have hit a root with the tip. I realized I need to learn how to avoid this in the future. Thanks for the careful explanation.

thank you very much. your video and narration show that you are understanding of the danger. many videos have guys talking about kickback but then they proceed to cut wood in a way that NO beginner (like me) should dare attempt. your video showed a healthy fear and respect for a very dangerous tool.

Yes, kickback IS something to watch out for. It happens fast. But it's very easy to avoid. Just be aware of your bar tip at all times. Always do your cutting with the end of the bar, not the end closest to the saw, unless you're cutting a large log and the entire bar will be buried in the cut. The problem with cutting, say, a ten inch diameter log with the base of an eighteen inch bar is that you can too easily lose sight of that tip, and in a split second touch something solid you weren't aware of.
Little chainsaws are much easier to control than big ones. The kickback from a little one isn't as forceful as that from a much bigger machine. You can even practice making your saw kickback to get a feel for its power and speed. I did this many times (some fifty years ago) while teaching myself how to run a saw. Don't be afraid of your chainsaw; always remember that YOU are in charge! Fear only increases the chances of an accident, in my opinion.

This is a good explanation of kickbacks from the tip, but there are also kickbacks from chain pinch. Do you have a video for that which you can link to from here? A third topic to discuss would be objects that are thrown by contact with the chain.
