Every day I go duck hunting is my favorite. No matter the weather, bring it on
We hunt in flooded reservoir with stunted cypress and tupelo. We’ve had really good hunts with both conditions. The main thing for us is the wind. We prefer a good 15-25mph North wind. One bad thing about cloudy, overcast days is it’s much more difficult to hide well. The birds can see you much better because there is no glare from the sun. Love you’re videos - keep them coming.
I love any day I can hunt,,, but SUNNY and 10-13mph winds is what I really like here in FLORIDA.

Sunny days seem better in Ar. The shadows can be your best friend.

I like sunny and windy days. The ducks seem to see the decoys better. We try to set up so the sun is in their eyes and/or, set the decoys up so that they are looking away from the blind. I really enjoy the videos. Thanks for posting.

Any day duck hunting is a good day. I don’t get that many days to hunt so.. just going is a good day.

I hunt north of Portland Oregon and I like to hunt ducks in the rain and wind because that’s what gets the ducks flying here. Whenever it is sunny the ducks sit on the water and feed or roost they only get moving in bad weather. I think it’s because of the migration.
Here in Indiana, calm days after heavy snow or severe cold fronts are best. We have finally reached that time of year. I spent my morning watching mallards and black ducks work.
Sunny and windy days are my favorite, but of late seems that we see more ducks on cloudy , rainy days haha, sure gotta hide good on them cloudy days

Sunny, cold days is where it’s at late season here in Eastern Montana. About 0 to 10 degrees and bright sun on the water is the recipe for limits of big Mallards. Great video.
My favorite hunting weather is the early snowy days here in MN. Divers just seem to get dumb and pile in by the dozens. It's only one or two days a year, but boy is it magical. The rest of the season I don't mind sun or clouds, but the sun makes for nicer sitting when you get skunked.
Minnesota? That used to be good hunting 50 years ago, now it totally sucks
@@mjuberian it's definitely spotty. West central lakes area and up the Red River valley is pretty good, but the more south and east you go the more hit or miss it gets. And don't even bother around the metro area, but that's just good advice in general really.
Sunny. Easier to hide with the shadows. Birds finish better to sunlit decoys. Only exception is light snow, that’s the best!

I love hunting on sunny days! Everything looks more beautiful and I feel like I can blend in better--either in a blind or up against a tree trunk.
Always better to hunt on a sunny day. Sun gives you shadows and more cover and some warmth. Also this video is way better quality than I’ve been seeing. I love the editing and b roll and video of the dog working. Wayyy better snd enjoyable to watch! Keep this up!

Stale-ish birds. Big wind, rain/snow. Cold temps. Corn!
I hunt in Georgia. Unless I can make it to big water public spots, I'm secluded to hunt rivers or big creeks on family property. In my past experience I have had better luck on creeks and rivers when the weather is nasty. Im talking cold, raining, windy, just everything that's screams stay at home. But you have to get out there if you want the birds. That being said I hunt everyday I can, sunshine or not, I'm out there!!

Sunny days for sure, but I will take any day out in the field.
Great vid! Here in South Carolina, I prefer a cold bitter cloudy day for an afternoon hunt where birds want to come back and feed. Gotta stay hidden... But it doesn’t get much better than having that sun behind your back with a north wind either!

All the experts say sunny days are best. Since I only saw 17 ducks the whole season I'll have to defer to the experts. I'm glad you guys are getting them at least.

I like sunny days. The shadows help with the hide and the sun makes the spinners pop.
Here in Missouri the Sunny days seem to work best on Mallards, the sun helps with concealment in my opinion! Thanks for the great content Joel!

My favorite is sunny. Its probably the most productive.
In the pit out in the fields cloudy/foggy seems to work best (5 person limit in the fog this past Sunday😁). But for the timber, sun is a must!

Well.....we prefer to have that nice sunrise come up over Lake Huron with a nice calm morning picture perfect.....but better duck action when the weather is crummy 🙂

Nasty days on the Texas coast work more often but have had some awesome days when it’s sunny.
North Idaho here and sunny days are pretty rare during duck season. I like both sunny or overcast as long as the birds are flying.

Birds seem to move more and are easier to get in the area when it is cloudy, but much easier to hide and get them to finish when it is sunny. Take the good with the better!

I prefer the clouds and a little fog. Keeps the ducks low and keeps me in my toes.

Sunny days with a little wind are best but down here in Florida we take whatever we can get. Had an awesome sunny day hunt last Friday with a three man limit but they didn’t fly until the wind picked up. Merry Christmas and keep the hunting videos coming, they’re awesome!
We get a lot of light/no wind days... it's tough then. We are always excited to get a breezy day!
Down here in southern Arizona the wind affects the ducks more than the cloud condition but because a lot of the birds are not too pressured a sunny day helps light up the mojo and draw them in better.
Good hunt dudes. I still like cloudy days the best! LOL I'm using some of that older pattern camo too, it works great. Wish they still made a lot of it.

If it is going to be cloudy, I want it to be nasty with wind and misty rain. Sunny days I especially love when speck hunting. For the field I hunt now Sunny days seem to be better. I can use this past Monday and Yesterday as comparison. Monday was sunny, but little wind and I saw plenty of ducks moving at first light. Now the lack of wind hurt getting them to work in tight, but had several ducks work. Yesterday was cloudy with a good wind and saw very little moving, other than high geese. The two ducks I got came in nice, but that was it.
Sunny day all day!!!! I hunt 100 percent traffic ducks. I’m a oxbow/timber hunter birds respond better to a call in the sun ☀️. It’s been a great season for me so far

I still prefer to hunt cloudy and stormy days. Our best bags are often on those days but I don't field or marsh hunt much. We typically have no wind on sunny days here wich makes it a hard slow day.
It’s good to see a new video. I was starting to wonder since it’s been a few weeks since the last one. I prefer a sunny day over a cloudy one. Not sure why but just seem to have better hunts when it’s sunny.
We hunted this morning - sunny and a slight east to west wind - had one of our better days. Seems to me that a cool crisp sunny day is more productive than the overcast days. Both can be good if ducks are around though. Great content - Merry Christmas!!!

Hello from the Great Northwest public Duck Blind I prefer to hunt on a cloudy day since we have a great deal of those but it seems to me like I kill some birds on sunny days with rainbows yeah sound silly but I have gild plenty of birds under rainbows today was what's a busy day in the March lots of hunters most of hunters came out with a couple Birds a piece and that was it they turned right off like a switch water levels are dropping hope to see him come back up with the next ring thanks for the videos love them and learned a lot from him even though I'm a very seasoned Hunter God bless and Shoot Straight

North eastern Washington I prefer cloudy particularly rain or snow days, the birds don’t seem to fly much on a sunny day, we just don’t have the number of birds here. Keep rockin the videos

Glad to hear the computer issues are squared away.
My preference is a clear cold day, but I will take any day where there are ducks in the area. For example, my buddy and I hunted yesterday in a mixture of conditions. At shooting time there was a thin fog layer, lots of birds but nothing would work or listen to our calls. Between us we got 3 birds. About 8:00 dense fog set in until about 10:00. No shots fired, but good conversation. Around 10:00 it cleared up to blue skies. There were still birds flying but still not a lot working. We picked up another 3 birds during this period. Then some clouds rolled in, not total overcast but pretty cloudy, with some blue sky patches. From this point until about 3:00 the bird numbers were reduced but they got dumb, reacted to our calls and came in on a rope. We filled up our limits, gave each other a high five, packed up our gear and headed home at about 3:00.
If I had to guess at why it turned out this way, I believe the birds in the area were not fresh and very spooky, got tired flying over the fog, and were looking for a place to land in the afternoon. I should also add, the hunting pressure greatly reduced in the afternoon. Whether I am right or wrong I consider this a great hunt day. Not so much for the numbers but for the full day experience of hunting.
Al this to say there are a lot of variables that make a good hunting day.

Great video. We just hunted a blind in Northern California, foggy/overcast in the morning and we got limits but they dive in fast out of nowhere!
Have only hunted 2 times. one day was sunny and the other was cloudy. Had no luck with birds but I guess that’s New Jersey for you. Love the videos!
In central Minnesota, where I live, I have greater success on cloudy days. The ducks travel lanes are right above my chunk of private land. They are too high in the sky on clear days, whereas cloudy days they fly lower and decoy perfectly. The colder temperatures later in the season (under 35°) compound my success rates. Mojos do not seem to help, just three black ducks. I wear men’s size 13. Merry Christmas everyone!

I’m a lot more interested in what the wind is doing than sun/no sun as birds work so much better when there’s a good wind. That said, I prefer the sun as it makes those greenheads glisten! 👍
