Watching this guy teach, I feel like I've been robbed of my mathematical dream in life for not having this guy teach me back in 2005. I had to take pre-calc twice because the teacher would explain soooo basically how to get to that number I didn't pick up on how the concept truly works. Thankyou Eddie Woo, I may be getting back into math because of you.
Eddie I can only say, I would have loved to have had you for Maths when I did my HSC in 1973. Who knows where I would have gone with Maths. You are an amazing teacher Eddie! Thanks for your passion and insight.
I am taking a Master's of Finance program at U of Colorado Boulder....Eddie, you have been the greatest help because of how you explain things that I have forgotten over the years....You are an amazing teacher...Thank You, Johnny
Sir, youre doing gods work here. Im a set 1 student, and teachers barely teach us things- like they rush through the lessons and just give us questions to answer. I literally forget how to do things as soon as i leave the classroom, especially with logs. Your videos are amazing and i hope you keep uploading and teaching. God bless.
@@ipnorospo38 noo they just chunck us a formula like sin= opposite/adjacent, gives us a simple E level question and then expect us to magically get the hard A questions on the test that we have never gone through edit: Plus, he makes me interested in learning things that I am not even learning atm. Eddie is amazing at catching one's attention.
I am currently taking college algebra for dual credit, but because of the coronavirus I now have to do all of my assignments at home. Your videos have been so helpful when I have gotten stuck trying to work out a problem by myself. Thank you so much!
It's quite helpful to have teachers who are actually interested in teaching a topic rather than having those who just disinterest their students by telling them how the topic is not as useful as it once was and that it's not that important etc.
You are the BEST mathematics lecturer I have ever encounter in my 36years here on earth, am so so so greatful for meeting you, Godbless you excessively. I think I have seen you on TED, you are so inspiring, you make me confront Maths from a simple perspective from your motivated words.
Earlier this evening, before I started to watch this log series, I got a basic understanding of what they are and then tried to discover some truths about it. For example, I discovered by myself how to add logarithms. Doing things like this can improve your math skills. Try doing it, it's fun and a good mental challenge.
Let me take this opportunity to take off my hat for you. You are the best , greatest Mathematics teacher ever. You make mathematics so interesting and easily to understand. If I had a teacher like you, think today I would be study PHD in Mathematics. Thank you for sharing your videos, they helping me to understand my project and I am glad I came across them. God continue to bless you. All the way from South Africa.
3:45 0's in logs are not allowed for obvious reasons. You can't divide by zero and not only that but there is no number either in the base or exponent that would give you zero in the logarithmic function.
Student: *sneezes* Teacher: “bless you” with a happy face Me: how the heck is he so calm...please wear your mask Aslo me: checking upload date “2017...”oh!good old days” T.T
I am confused.. What does exponentials means? like google always said it as "exponential functions" and not really the word exponential itself... And u mention it at 0:45 " when you multiply exponentials, you add this". But what is, exponentials? Someone help me, I am not really good in maths ;-;
Before calculators, every huge multiplication or division had to be done by hand and it would take forever. As it's much easier to add or subtract numbers, these calculations were much easier to do in log form.......as shown in his video, multiplication or division just involves adding or subtracting the logs. There were log books full of lists of numbers with their corresponding log value....usually to base 10. You could then look up the number, convert it to log form, do your calculations and then convert the log back into number format by finding it in the lists. At school we had log books and also slide rules.....but that's another topic! I still have my old log book.....
Natural logs are to the base of e right? E being2.718..what are ways to find e rather than that compound interest Such an important number and to do with exponential growth

You are so dedicated and passionate about teaching and because of this, students tend to understand very well. Thank you so much :)
thank you, your enthusiasm and energy makes it easier to understand a complex topic like this, keep up the hard work!

Good sir, your videos alone are enough to get me through high school
On A Budget waiiit you learn this in high school? I live in England you don’t learn this until you get to college 😵 I’m doing this in college omg.

Eddie, instead of making it three videos you should combine all the videos into one. I love your videos. I had no clue about logs before this.
Your approach is wonderful and insightful !

but sir if a=1 then log1power1 is equal to 1 is it possibe ?
I wish you were my math teacher 😥
Sir, I have a question. May be this is not much important. Why do we need to learn logarithms? why that kind of a thing originated?

Natural logs are to the base of e right? E being2.718..what are ways to find e rather than that compound interest
Such an important number and to do with exponential growth
The natural definition of Euler's number e is exp(1) = 1/0! + 1/1! + 1/2! ...
In general it goes exp(x) = (x^0)/0! + (x^1)/1! + (x^2)/2! ...
Is there another way to say" the numbers inside the logs" ?
based af god bless you
Is that in year ten ?
Amazing
could we please import you to are country? it be be an honour.
Thanks from india
Are you igcse maths teacher ?
This proves that it's not the teacher's fault kids are dumb. Or maybe they had bad primary school teachers so there's no base to build upon...
