90’s college football was the best era. Dominated by Florida Florida St Miami Michigan Nebraska Ohio St. Especially on New Year’s Day Jan. 1 entire day to watch bowl games
LOVE the 90's but I'll take the 80's first
To me 2002-2006 was the best era of CFB. Part of that is ABC still had that awesome CFB theme music that made every game feel bigger.
Yup! BCS 1998-2014 begs era hands down. You had dynasties, parody, split titles, contested titles, out right champs. The greatest game ever in 2005 Rose Bowl. The rise of teams like Boise, TCU, Louisville, Michigan State, Stanford…I remember watching 07 season where no one could escape an upset and two loss champion was crowned.

I'm not a fan of teams winning a Natty because they beat a bunch of 7+ loss teams. If at the end of the year you beat everyone left you are the best.
We'll look back and say 4 teams was great, 12-14+ was way too many. We should have contested for 6-8 teams.
I'm sorry Toledo doesn't belong with Bama or Georgia.

Still can't hate on the 2018 Rose Bowl. That's one of the best games I've ever watched.

Put a cap and we'll go back to the bag man. People who hate that kids are getting paid blowing out their knees and exploding their brains for our enjoyment kill me. You won't hate on the coach making 13million a year, or the school making billions+. But a kid making a few $10k is awful (average NIL deal).

Basically, the Miami Notre Dame rivalry of the late 80s kicked off a LONG era of great college football ending just last year with the collapse of the PAC 12

Glad y’all hit on the Clemson receivers. The national opinion vs. the reality couldn’t be more different. Mostly because it’s been clouded by Dabo’s portal strategy and his comments. Health permitting, it should be a strength of the team.

The era within the previous 25 - 30 yrs up until kids started sitting bowl games out imo.... genuine school loyalty and sheer love of the game is gone now, I'm also with Danny that was the pre "targeting" you better not come over the middle because I'ma knock yo ass out era.

@@jdtheguitartist wouldn't have happened in era I speak of because guys didn't sit out bowl games back then even if the game wasn't for the national championship, now if you aren't playing for the title or playoff for a chance at the title it's hit or miss if guys will play especially if they are projected draft picks
