I hear that King of the Hill apparently has a big audience in Japan. That means there is a non zero chance of there being a King of the Hill Collab Café someday.
I wouldn't say big... it does have a devoted following but it is rather niche, most Japanese people have never heard of KotH (think western UA-camrs overhyped how popular it is in Japan)
Making bets before I watch: > Emily is gonna be playing the "find the Asian girl in this cartoon" challenge again > daidus will draw himself like the crustiest redditor again
Hank Hill: "Dangit Emily, how many times have I told you not to draw that... anime stuff. You see Emily, the Japanese took good, honest American cartoons like Popeye and turned it into an excuse to draw robots and high school girls getting into fights with monsters and things. It's just not right, no sir."
I wish there was more merchandise of it, unfortunately with current TV standards, we can’t get as explosive as it was in the 50s-60s, the scenes that always gets me is whenever Tom does his evil laugh
They also made As Told By Ginger, Duckman and Aah! Real Monsters oh and The Wild Thornberrys. I know there may have been at least others but I don't know them.
Growing up and maturing is realizing that, despite his downfalls in the earlier seasons, Hank is generally right/chooses the right option the vast majority of the time. He is very human and his preconceived notions are often challenged and put into question, especially in the later seasons. Yet most of the time he accepts his downfalls with grace and usually ends up befriending someone who he previously wouldn't have. Not to mention he genuinely provides life lessons that are actually applicable and relevant to real life.
There's actually a style guide for King Of The Hill I've seen floating around on the internet. It's really impressive to see how much care they put into maintaining a consistent visual style. Definitely worth a look! Although I think y'all nailed it yourselves lol.
IZ Daidus would be that kid who screams out “Squid up? No! Squid Neutral!!” in the middle of class, only for Ms. Bitters to snap “Dom, go to the principals office, now!”, and then IZ Daidus runs out the classroom cheering that doesn’t have to be in class.
Once again, I love how much daidus makes his so accurate to the weirdest or most background character while Emily makes it both cute and distinctly accurate to the style
I love how the creator of invader zim (jhonen Vasquez) was so confused when he got approached by Nick to make a cartoon. Because before Nick he made edgy adult comics like Johnny the homicidal maniac
Please pt 3!! Not only is this channel literally one of my favorite ones to watch, but I love seeing your takes on nostalgic cartoons and adapting the styles! Also, would LOVE to see y'all draw in the Hannah Barbara style! (Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby Doo, etc.)
Big bluey advocate. It's really good specially because I've never seen a show actually teach kids good lessons that don't fall into cliches like "sharing is caring" and they show how kids might feel in certain situations and how to regulate those emotions. Makes me tear up, they actually did their research. If only my parents taught me all these basic things I had to learn through heartbreak
11:56 I honestly love emily's mitsuri moles, they're so iconic and cute, ever the first time i saw her face I wondered why she doesn't include them on her persona
I’ve rewatched bluey with my parents all 3 seasons about like 26 times bluey is so friggin good. It teaches important life lessons in subtle symbolism and even the parents get some like- little lessons and stuff it’s super cute and funny and makes me cry
Bluey genuinely has so much heart in it, seeing it’s impact I pray more kids shows take inspiration and actually spend time putting soul into their work, also excited for the bluey movie coming soon ☝️
If I could recommend Daidus and Emily to watch one Bluey episode, I would recommend two: Season 3 Ep 18 - Rain (Chill episode, almost wordless) Season 3 Ep 43 - Dragon (Drawing themed) Regardless, I would recommend to watch the whole series
For the Arthur bit, Binky is a bulldog from my memory! It’s so nice to hear people talk about such nostalgic cartoons in a chill way. I feel whenever I talk to anyone about cartoons they make me feel immature but these shows were so central to my being and upbringing
keep going please !!! I literally got so excited seeing the Invader Zim in the thumbnail, I didn't get into it when it first released [bc I was Baby born in 2001 lol] but I got super into it when it had a bit of a revival in the early 2010's and it was such a good time,,,
@@supersasukemaniac Yea location wise it doesn't really work, but I think Australia being closely tied with the UK and things working the same over there as the UK and US just puts it under the same Western blanket.
1:03 I wouldn't know since I was born in 2010 and grew up with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (great kid's show btw), but Arthur looks like one of those kids shows where if someone much younger wanted me to watch it with them, I'd be down for that. That applies to Mickey's Clubhouse as well.
I love how yall talked about Arthur. It was a big part of my childhood (grew up watching PBS kids) so hearing ppl still being nostalgic about it makes me happy. Also yall drawings are excellent!
The Terra Betrayal arc is actually from the Teen Titans comic, called the Judas Contract. Changed a bit for TV-Y7 rating, and to keep with a few existing themes and relationships unique to the show, but still a decent retelling.
For a future drawing challenge, it would be cool to see you two draw yourselves in the style of various Franco-Belgian comics (think Gaston, Asterix, XIII, Bécassine, Blake and Mortimer, Metabarons, Thorgal, The Smurfs, Spirou & Fantasio, Tintin, Persepolis, Blacksad, etc.) to name a few.
I love your style challange videos, regardless if it is with American/Western cartoons or anime. I say just keep doing them if you find them fun to do :D
21:13 Kind of neat how Emily mentioned she's be a figure skater in the Rocket Power universe, considering that's a plot point for Reggie in one of the episodes
yeah Reggie and one of the recurring side characters switch places so Reggie takes up Figure Skating and the other character tries out Ice Hockey, and they both take to their new sports pretty well.
I’m so glad there’s new spilled ink content!! I’ve been binge watching Emily’s and daidus’ videos on their channels and also all spilled ink videos. At this point I’m rewatching all videos the third time 😭 Can’t get enough of yall, I’m really enjoying all your content!
As a teen, Bluey is one of my all-time pieces of media ever! It explores deep and complex themes while being a kids show, and it’s equally as directed at parents (and honestly people of any age) as the kids. Often makes me cry too. I definitely suggest watching it!
Coming from a teen, Bluey is such a wholesome and cute show, definitely recommend you watch it. The colors are super pretty, you physically cannot look at a bluey background and not feel some form of happiness.
Emily Daidus, I want to thank you guys so much. At the moment I am struggling with a lot of things personally, but your channel is giving me so much hope to not be afraid and start something new even if I make mistakes. And I am slowly getting the confidence of starting to do art just for fun. Thank you so much to spilled ink!
All such banger cartoons they drew this time - I loved it!! Hope there will be a part 3!!! Also I really love the tinkly versions of all the memorable soundtracks to all these cartoons, it was such a nice touch - maybe I didn't notice it from the first part, but I really noticed it here!!
To answer the question about Rocket Power and Rugrats; yes, they have the same creators. Rugrats was based on their kids, and Rocket Power was inspired by their own kids discovering extreme sports.
Please do part 3, you guys really got me loving your videos. Plus if you guys do draw yourselves of Castlevania, I definitely want to see that happening!
Oh cool, I'm glad for a part two! Really impressive takes on these styles, too. Your bet was correct 😂😂😂
Just look at Invader Zim *and King of the Hill
Wow
Emily drawing them on a spongebob date is the best thing omg
Okay can we add a bonus sketch every episode of one of the “sonas” going on a date. It was adorable

Hello, Im core audience.
SAME
I-I... Shut... Shut up! I'm only 17! I don't wanna relate to this ;~;
Bluey has been healing my inner child as a 22 year old and it's the only therapy I can afford
its such a feel good show 🥹 i can think of 3eps that made me tear up
Bluey is sooooo good!
TOM & JERRY
The greatest. No dialogue, very few characters and pure vibes. Same repeating gag but ALWAYS working.
And all ages can watch
I wish there was more merchandise of it, unfortunately with current TV standards, we can’t get as explosive as it was in the 50s-60s, the scenes that always gets me is whenever Tom does his evil laugh
Transcends language too
More of Daidus drawing himself as a gooner
I love to see you guys using more of the pngs from the episode you guys drew.
you guys nailed all of these styles 😮 I especially loved the spongesonas haha
Eating and watching this is the best combo

It was part of the First Season DVD set.
Why does hearing the Arther theme in music box mode so heart warming. 🥰

He be fucking saying unhinged facts about squids while his backpack may or may not be once a live one.

Daidus says that the tallests give Zim a mission but the funny thing is that it's not an actual mission, they just made it up to get rid of him
