    I had to modify the battery brackets a bit but you should have plenty of room for 4 12s. Love your content.

    If you see the price of used carts you would know that it makes sense to fix it. Parts are plentiful and there are some fairly inexpensive 48 volt LiFePo4 batteries that would work great.

    Just do it! LOL. I grew up on the 16th fairway of a public golf course. Ahhh... those days of boosting golf carts that were abandoned on the back nine. We had a ton of fun joyriding until they expired completely.

    Give it a Harbor freight gas engine and a old time generator that can also be used as a starter. That would be cheaper than batteries

    Hi tbone. I bought a used 36 volt cart and ised 3 12 volt deep cell batteries in series. Much cheaper than 6 six volt. You could gonwith 4 12 volt. I also purchased a converter that would convert the 36 volts to a 12 volt
    Fuse panel to add lighting radio etc. the 8 volts and 6 volts are not as easy to get to which as you know makes the price go up.

    a few possibilities. On another channel they connected a alternator to a gas engine to replace the batteries. They modified the alternator to get higher voltage. I believe that cart run on 24 volts though.How many 8 volt batteries in series. 6 batteries x 8 =48 volts.If i counted the batteries correctly you could use 4 12 volt batteries either lithium or deep cycle lead acid batteries. If it is possible I would remove the electric motor and install an air cooled engine with cvt transmission.

    If the frame, motor, and rear end is good you have a kit. Everything mechanical that you need is there. Yes, the batteries will cost a lot up front but everything else is essentially cosmetic and will just requires your labor and some optional monetary outlay for "look good things". Get enough interested subscribers and you may even get some money from your time spent on the project. And remember, if it's pretty enough you can always get someone to pay money for it.

    I actually have pretty much the same Club Car and all those batteries were dead. However, I did jumpered them off with a 12 volt charger to each 8 volt battery one at a time just to get them up to a voltage needed to use the actual Club Cart charger. And once I got them charged to a fair level, I actually drove it around the neighborhood for a while. I have plans to totally refurbish it with the Lithium battery setup and just have some fun with it. I say go for it.

    Looks like theirs a lot of work besides the drive train in it, a few hundred dollars in it could make it go, if you don’t have to get new batteries, after you get your price list it could be that it’s worth it , I don’t know! But you the man when it comes to figuring these things out! I’ll be watching.

    • @TBoneAfterhours
      @TBoneAfterhours  17 днів тому

    JUNK IT! It's too old, not worth the headache(s) and expense of GC batteries. Before I retired I bought dozens and dozens of good used GC's from golf clubs for our maintenance workers to travel with their tools from one end of the shop to the other (over a half mile long) for well less than half price and they all looked and drove like brand new. Lots and lots of little thing can and probably have gone wrong with that old GC especially just setting around that you haven't even run across yet. Newer GC's have AC motors, not DC motors...much more powerful. Just my past experienced opinion!
