His amp only puts out about 340rms @ 4 ohms. A bit more dynamically. So only 100 over that subs rated(if and when the amp actually saw exactly 4ohms.) Definitely clipped to death.

Hmm, you can do the same basically on any subwoofer/speaker. Just abuse it enough and drive it with crappiest amplifier you can find and make sure it clips really badly.. There you have it, of course you can do it with very powerful amplifier and with cheap speaker but then you are missing the point. Crappy speaker with crappy amp is the best combo especially for you, judging by the Folex on your wrist.

Remo, #1 aftermarket vs factory radio, #2 yes, all modern RR has remote controls for the radio/interface. Look on the steering wheel there are wired (aftermarket option also, look up wired remote sony, pioneer, etc...), along with the multi something control (turn, directional, touch, and it even recognizes writing letters to add contacts and other functions).
That sub held it down I actually went to buy one and pushed it on my normal set up cause of the budget my normal set up I push 2 12s on a 1500 watt amp and they quake I can be heard pulling up and sometime down the street a little but anyway plugged this sub up by its self pushing the same power and it held its own didn’t even smell I know people hate on this sub but it’s not bad at all
I’ve had one in a sealed box for about 6 years now. Sounds great with my sound bar also. My amp is 600 watts tho. With these amps and subs built by dual you have to use but not abuse them if you want them to last a long time.
Honestly just found one of these in a carpeted box by a trash hopper that after some cleaning will look like new. Just curious how the Dual performed, maybe some reviews, but this video was proof enough. Thanks for the upload, not an expensive speaker but that bargain Dual driver worked its ass off there.

Your amp is clipping like a sun of a gun! These suns actually dealt with 1200 watts (clean power though!!!) My sub didnt die. Instead I gave it to a friend "for free" and he's still using it. You just clipped it to death on a low powered amp anf for $30 its pretty dang good.
I run 10 of these Dual 12s - pushing them with 2 JP83's .... They've held up full tilt daily for the past 8 months. Upgraded alternator, all 2/0 power and grounds and two d4s lithium batteries in the trunk .... Zero problems.
Get clean power without cliping etc and the sub will handle it good there are subs on the market that handle triple time its rated power example there are subs its rated power is 2000 rms and you could use a 10k on it but there must be no cliping it has to be a clean power amp without distortion

I don't recall any of them doing its ratings at all. However I do remember some of them were a pretty good deal for the money either way.

i had one of these for almost 2 years in my f250, hooked up to a RF amp and it worked great, i mean build quality might not be the best and it might not be able to handle a crazy amount of power, but hooked up with right amp and properly tuned (unlike this) it will do the job for 30$...
Clipping is your middle name, ditch that amp. It puts out nowhere close to "4000" watts. I get the purpose of this vid but turn your gain down a bit for your JL setup
Yep. It put out 340 watts rms @ 4ohms 1% thd. A bit more dynamically. So he blew this sub with an amp that only puts out 100 or so more watts than the sub is rated for. Really it's was all that hard clipping that blew the sub. If that dual was on my sundown sae 1000d I could have put 450rms clean into it, and it'd probably last longer. Or I could put it into clipping and end its misery way faster than he did lol. I used to have one of these, bought it when I was like 16 drove it that hard for short bursts. Mostly drove it well within its limits though, I gave it away still in 100% working condition after having it for like 6 years. I thought it was going to be grossly overpowered on some 2k+ amp. Nope just clipped to death
That JL would blow just as easy! I got a soundstream amp one channel and blew punch 2 and that JL and an audio pipe all by accident just trying amp after buying it. All in 3 mins half way figured. Shoulda waited till I got American bass subs to test. I forced to buy a week later after wathing your XL Visio vs AB Hawk video. I went with the 3500 watt. If your jl is smelling that means its clipping. You can put way over the power rating on pretty much any sub. But once the signal is clipped, it will then roast the coil from the clipping.
Clipping any amplifier will damage any sub. Probably what happened to the JL. I never heard of that brand of amplifier or know the specifications. I understand that blowing the sub was the point of the video. With a decent amp and decent box. These subs are actually ok for the money. Perfect for a beginner basshead just starting out.

Normally, you make him work below his resonant frequency. every cheap speaker has a small stroke on the membrane and this prevents him from going well below 45 Hz. Let's not forget that the speaker is new and not developed !!! Cheap speakers are pushed through a crossover, otherwise it happens to them!
That amp probably puts out 400w max at 4ohms. (edit probably half that) I'm assuming by the quality of you, as a person, that you played a bad bass boosted mp3 and had "bass boost" turned up all the way on your amp and head unit causing it to clip to death. Had you even fixed one of those things, that sub would have done just fine. You can under power a sub all you want, but when you crank that bass boost it'll die.
Or something like a Ascendant Audio/Fi Audio, just great quality. Have had a coupleof A.A products now and would want to have anything else anymore(to bad i had to). The thirth sub i had of them was a used and reconed Chaos with dual 1 Ohm V.C the old type was rated for 1k(recommended power delivered by theamp,because a speaker does not have any power) but had it running daily on 0,5Ohm @ around 3,5Kw. No problem what so ever.
A little extra info would go a long way in this video, like mentioning that your amp is putting out about 340w RMS, or that the sub is only rated for 250w RMS. But like others have said, of course the whole point was to blow it up, which you accomplished. Continuing to run that amp with clipped signals like that will be a great way to make another video "Blowing an inexpensive amp from Amazon".

devestatorx yeah I know the subwoofer was rated to only handle 250 watts rms not a whole lot of rms power 1000 watts rms is just it's peak rms power and not it's actual rated rms power subwoofers can blow if you give them their peak rms power and not their rated rms power
On this video I learned from the comments that Ignite amps are bad ass, Break-In is a real thing or you will destroy your speakers right out of the box and only a couple people actually know the difference between clipping and overpowering. LOL

That JL would blow just as easy! I got a soundstream amp one channel and blew punch 2 and that JL and an audio pipe all by accident just trying amp after buying it. All in 3 mins half way figured. Shoulda waited till I got American bass subs to test. I forced to buy a week later after wathing your XL Visio vs AB Hawk video. I went with the 3500 watt. Those power acoustic subs beside them are way better 1200 rms they are only 80. They probably would have fucked his amp up before any thing else.
If your jl is smelling that means its clipping. You can put way over the power rating on pretty much any sub. But once the signal is clipped, it will then roast the coil from the clipping.
Clipping any amplifier will damage any sub. Probably what happened to the JL. I never heard of that brand of amplifier or know the specifications. I understand that blowing the sub was the point of the video. With a decent amp and decent box. These subs are actually ok for the money. Perfect for a beginner basshead just starting out.

I miss the way Walmart used to allow you to try the speakers they had to offer. I loved going just to hear some bass when I didn't have a system... Since COVID came out screwed up and took away a bunch of stuff we all enjoyed.... Now if you want to hear decent bass you have to go to an actual audio shop and have a sales man stalk you and ask you a thousand questions before you can even hear anything they have
That little dual held up better than the new jl 10s had a customer blow 4 in a row on 2/3s rated power.

Normally, you make him work below his resonant frequency. every cheap speaker has a small stroke on the membrane and this prevents him from going well below 45 Hz. Let's not forget that the speaker is new and not developed !!! Cheap speakers are pushed through a crossover, otherwise it happens to them!
That amp probably puts out 400w max at 4ohms. (edit probably half that) I'm assuming by the quality of you, as a person, that you played a bad bass boosted mp3 and had "bass boost" turned up all the way on your amp and head unit causing it to clip to death. Had you even fixed one of those things, that sub would have done just fine. You can under power a sub all you want, but when you crank that bass boost it'll die.
Now take it back to walmart and be like "Didn't work right out of the box!"

Or something like a Ascendant Audio/Fi Audio, just great quality. Have had a coupleof A.A products now and would want to have anything else anymore(to bad i had to). The thirth sub i had of them was a used and reconed Chaos with dual 1 Ohm V.C the old type was rated for 1k(recommended power delivered by theamp,because a speaker does not have any power) but had it running daily on 0,5Ohm @ around 3,5Kw. No problem what so ever.
A little extra info would go a long way in this video, like mentioning that your amp is putting out about 340w RMS, or that the sub is only rated for 250w RMS. But like others have said, of course the whole point was to blow it up, which you accomplished. Continuing to run that amp with clipped signals like that will be a great way to make another video "Blowing an inexpensive amp from Amazon".

devestatorx yeah I know the subwoofer was rated to only handle 250 watts rms not a whole lot of rms power 1000 watts rms is just it's peak rms power and not it's actual rated rms power subwoofers can blow if you give them their peak rms power and not their rated rms power
Try the same test with the most expensive one, the Power Acoustik. It'll take 1000W RMS no problem at all.
On this video I learned from the comments that Ignite amps are bad ass, Break-In is a real thing or you will destroy your speakers right out of the box and only a couple people actually know the difference between clipping and overpowering. LOL

Well this sub is new so still needs few hours of warm up to get full power in safe lvl. When its new you can even burn it at 60% its power.

You can destroy any subwoofer if it don't do the break in process. 30 to 40 hours of low volume and low frequency sweeps. 20Hz to 55Hz

@@ParkerTheBasshead You mentioned Ebay. I just purchased a Blaupunkt 10 inch sub single 4 ohm voice coil 600w peak for $35 bucks. Not bad for a cheap sub. It's not a Sundown or an Orion sub by any stretch, but good enough for the wife's car.

That's so true bro i wouldn't have believe it if i didn't see it for myself me and my boys were just messing around and we bought two of the dual and we used my 1 boys car because he only had a 500.1 KICKER AUDIO and his shiznit sounds awesome for that low power so we switched them out and it was a custom box 4 cubes after displacement and we were all stunned i kid u not we couldn't tell the difference no distortion well the gains we're set right but i just couldn't believe the sound maybe we just got lucky and got a good pair or maybe there just trying to make them worth buying for beginners u kno there's nothing wrong with that never the less no1 else had a second car but me so I ended up keeping them and that was about 6 or 7 months ago and there still running like new no1 believes we i tell them what they are and wen i sho them there like ima go grab me a pair just to beat on them LOL yeah right (✌🏼🔈💪🏼🔉💪🏼🔊)
