After a little more testing I think the bargain priced silicon, I used in these last two videos, will work with the sulfur free clay as well as used in a single pour mold. The silicon set fine with the sulfur free clay but seemed to draw some moisture from the clay that quickly dried leaving a perfectly set silicon. I'm putting the link here so you can try it yourselves. amzn.to/3H2muce
What a difference from the angles of cut, learnt something today about the need for side cuts to make the lure move better Through the water. Although the top cuts had less of a wiggle the side cut caused an imitation of a fast moving injuried bait. Thanks for allowing us, the viewer to learn from you're mistakes.
Excellent under water footage. Please keep your goof ups and fixes in the videos. It inspires us who are not perfect to keep trying till it works. Ideas for future videos. #1 take an old tooth brush and make a crank bait out of it as an upcycle project. #2 I watched a video a where they weren't talking about "glide back lures," a lure that glides backwards when sinking. Not once did they mention "The Flying Lure." How about making a lure that goes backwards to get under docks, in to cover, or cause a reaction strike?
Great job Franco! Sad you didn’t see a difference in the setting of the silicone. I’m going to play around with the stuff I got and see if I can figure it out
Wow! There really is quite a difference in action between the two iterations. Since you are in a soft plastic mood, have you messed around with any fully rigged bait designs? Something like a Storm Shad or Tsunami Swim Bait?
yeah, im fairly certain thats a platinum silicon. you didnt include a link last time so i searched it myself, i found that and several other that looked exactly the same like they were all just rebranded versions of the same product, and some of them were market as platinum.
Great work on improvements and problem solving with that silicone. Suggestion for future project: In stead of deep diving floating lure, how about a fast sinking lure with inverted lip that darts to the surface on retrieve?
Will be nice to have the engineer trouble-shoot and figure this out. Could work in saltwater - like shrimp, baby flounder or sole... Good challenge for action and to avoid snags.
Hey man no it's not about this video but I've got a lure question I don't have a vicette twist the lawyering harness making like some microbades or it's like some micro Bates or what it'd be better to use hook hangers Didn't know if you had a video on how to make a wiring harness for fully wired lures for you know for the small stuff
Franco, I took a quick look through your video list and didn't see a jerk bait design. Think there would be a general interest in them. From watching fishing videos jerk baits seem to be effective but also quite pricey - which makes them a prime DIY lure.
and a tip for your clay and silikone, search for a shop/brand that sell everything you need and help you with problems. instead of trying this and that, from here and there, and waste money to create trash.

Genius my friend! That bait had a great "being chased" action!
Definitely had a real unique shake to it
"Son of a sailor" - the Jimmy Buffett drop was great.
I'd love to see you carve/make a Franco lure to mold for soft plastic.
Beautiful workpiece 👍
I really like this 'fix on fail' follow-up, it's inspiring to see the thought process in this step, and to see the side by side results at the end!
Thought process of a lure making genius. Excellent rebound. More common item builds, please.
Coming up.
Enjoyed watching you fish more with your creations. Now a whole video on redfish and a whole video on bass fishing your crank baits creations.
Great idea

Great video!
I would love to see you build some kind of jigging spoon. Maybe for crappies or bass?

I’ve used plane old childrens play dough for years and never had any problems

Good luck!
I used white r t v rubber compound also to make my plastic molds and red for my low temp metal molds

I have found that baking a slimy mold at 350 for 30 minutes to an hour will cure it out. The clay issue was a problem but this solved it.
Thanks for the suggestion

Marling Baits tried that
Like the "riser" lure that already exists in the jdm?

What about a ring worm type shad

I have a quite a few vids on the topic: ua-cam.com/play/PLEVBv_zywucR1daeR5wwkcZeqU-GomrKd.html

Great suggestion!
How did you get the darker eyes on them?
Watch the previous video.
How about 1 side cut just in the middle about 1/4 back from the head? And keep the other side cuts where they are
Thanks for the suggestion but, I'm done with this design...time to move on.
How much do you sell some of those lovers for I would like to buy some Acacia in Jacksonville Florida
Sorry, I don't sell any of my lures, at least not yet.
Again. This method works well with silicone, gypsum .
why are you making everything so complicate? a stupid simple one-part mould, and sinus-cut to cut in half.
