I had the honor of visiting Frank's in March and my first pair just showed up 2 days ago. I am beyond impressed with the quality of the boots. Frank, Michelle, and Jr treated me like family when I was at their shop. Frank also provided an amazing tour of the shop. I cant say enough good things about Franks. I still have 2 more pairs of boots on order and I'm sure there will be more!

@@GentlemansJourney I got a pair of service style toe cap boots in #8 burgundy chromexcel. I have on order Wilshires in W&C Olive with a toe cap and I also have on order some Lace to Toe service style boots in their Tan Teton.

I have two pairs of franks as well as a couple of pairs from their competitors. All are high quality but I felt franks went above and beyond with costumer service and their product is excellent.
It’s my goal to one day make it out to Spokane and visit Franks boots and his team. Sincerely the nicest people to work with and they stand behind their product 100%. I currently own three pairs of custom franks boots with a fourth in process and a fifth/sixth pair in mind. If you’re on the fence of getting some Franks just do it already damnit! 😆
Franks doesn’t mass produce boots and you can basically order any model with any leather from their site. I’m glad we still get to enjoy American craftsmanship. God bless

Last August I ordered my Highlander boots. I went through both the fit sheet and try-on process with Junior who was awesome to work with. By January I recieved my boots and they were a beautiful show of craftsmanship. I didnt want to use them for work (Electrician, Commercial & Industrial). The boot fit very well initally I had some breaking to do but not much for the upper, the foot bed however.. by Month 6 I could where them for a week without alternating boots. Though it took a Hell of a break in for the footbed, these boots are amazing. I use them from everything from work to casual to hunting. Only downside is they are heavy but they are stout and the rigid build will last much longer than off the shelf brands. I can say that my knee pain, back fatigue & hip tightness are gone when wearing these boots.
When I can, i will reach out to Franks to get a custom wedge sole boot to replace my outgoing pair. Custom made fully rebuildable & resolable boots are the way to go.

I live in Spokane, work on my feet for hours at a time and am recovering from cervical fusion surgery. I also have the honor of having one leg longer than the other from hip replacement surgery. I'm looking for an everyday boot to wear that helps my orthopedic issues while I go around as a case worker for elderly and disabled folks, as a DJ at local farmers markets, and as a dad of a 10 year old. I'm really appreciating the deep dive on custom options, and loving the Spokane style attention to detail and down to earth vibes. You guys are awesome.

Absolutely fantastic.. I have to laugh and cry.. I grew up not far from there. Many many... to many.. years ago and I never knew they existed. I am very impressed with them through this video. I am at a point where I can afford them. But to that, I have realized that spending anywhere from 100 to 200 plus. For a new pair of boots every couple of years. You can purchase these and basically be the last pair you "need" to purchase... otherwise your purchase is just a matter of wanting an additional pair. So thank you for this. Very good and helpful information. 👍

@@GentlemansJourney When you start at 29:40 with a headphone on you can hear it switch from left to stereo and then back. I don't know what happened there but that might give you some clue. There are other segments where the sound is fine but those seem to be "overview shots" where no one is talking.

this reminds me of when i was a kid and you would go into a shoe store [ not payless] and the folks working actually new what they were doing and could properly fit a boot shoe to you , it's a lost art besides in specialty shops like this ...

Much love to ya up in Maine. Bought my truck in Bangor! Got my LL Bean boots when it gets cold, check out that video from the past. I really think these boot makers can do you good and Frank's team is so great to work with!
Things might be less tired with an arch and high heel and "ankle support", but I'm not going to assume I can redesign one of the most complicated levers in nature developed over 400 million years of bipedal experimentation and think I'm not going to cause some serious damage over time.. the ankles don't need the support of a cast, they've been developing for millions of years to support the weight of your body in a timed ground strike... otherwise I think this man has a true passion for helping people and I commend his efforts.
Well you certainly got great points for the other side of the story. Lots of people are actually looking for flat feet shoes. I’ll be showing some flat foot style boots in the new year. Nobody said wearing these boots will fix the human foot or its perfect design. If one must wear a boot, like we do working fires, this type of boot support will keep your feet comfortable for longer periods carrying heavy loads. These are the ONLY boots I wore working 16 hour shifts in fire.
@@davidbarton1451 yup.. you're the only one who's ever worked wildland fire.. the whole time I did, I was wishing for a zero drop version of a lace to toe fire boot that wasn't 5-6lbs.

Dear frank or vid guy
I’m a drywaller. Sad I kno. I’ve come to learn that drywalling is super hard on boots for some reason. Could it be the mud and dust drys the leather out? Is it just me hard on boots? I know they don’t compare to these but this year for example I’m already on my second pair of thorogoods this year and abt to send them back for warranty fix or replacement as the sole is peeling off after 4.5 months. The last ones started to split at the welt. It’s not thorogoods fault I don’t believe. I love the boots but all other boots I’ve tried (under 250$) split, crack, or separate the welt or outsole just the same. I believe thorogood is among the best at their price point. What is going on? Doesn’t seem right that drywall would be so hard on boots. WE DO CLEAN AND OIL OUR FOOTWEAR ) anyways is there a product someone could recommend that I try? Or a type of leather I should look into? Or brand? Thanks for the time and thanks for the vids. Those franks boots look awesome.
4.5 months seems super fast. Yes the drywall dust is no good for it and excessive washing, though necessary, could add to the breakdown of the glues, still seems fast. Are you bending down a lot and this bending the boot? I always recommend guys in your line of work to have two pair of work boots so that one pair can be used while the other is being cleaned/dried/conditioned/dried. Gotta say, you commented on my Franks Video, given them a try. Tell them to emphasize the strongest glue on the outsole. Thanks for watching🥾🥾

i'm only a few years into my boot obsession, but already have graduated to PNW boots, BUT....F these guys and their random sizing. oh, this boot in this last is totally different than this boot in this last and all that garbage. infuriating. why cant they just take the Bannock and SAY the size? if you know your 9.5 fits like a 10.5..just say its a 10.5. makes me want to just stay clear of these boots. but i just ordered a pair of JK's based on their sizing guide and in a few months will know if it fits. fingers crossed.

Arch support comment Sorry sir you are wrong. Before lasts existed with arch support in them. No special arch support was needed. Those lasts are not made anymore because it made costs much higher for production. I know my father had them.

Everything is great except the terms high arch and low arch It should be low medium or higher heel. When arch is used it means something else. For this you have to be real professional in the shoe trade.

GREAT job! I'm hoping you can help me. I am retired and I live a casual lifestyle. I don't do any "work boot"-required type work. I live at home and I'll go out to stores and places to run errands but I'm mostly a home body that enjoys going to family and friend's houses for social gatherings on the weekend. I've been an Allen Edmunds dress shoe type man for many years. Last summer (Aug 2021) I discovered how cool work boots (Heritage) boots can be and I invested $350 in my first pair of boots...Red Wing Iron Rangers 8111. After entering the world of boots I've watched a boatload of UA-cam videos on high end premium boots and consuming all of this social media brought me to the following conclusions. Number 1....my Red Wing IR is probably the best "entry level" boot I can buy....if I really want the best I need to graduate to a Nicks, Whites, JK's or Franks' boots. (all pacific northwest) I've really been itching to pull the trigger and get a pair of Nicks but every time I think about spending $550-$600 on a pair of Nicks I can't help but think if I should get the Whites, Franks or JK's??? I'm mostly torn with the following conundrum and I'm hoping you can help me with this one problem. As I said in my intro I live a casual, retired (at home) lifestyle and many times I think I'd be wasting all that money getting a premium brand (PNW) boot whereas I should just be happy with my Red Wing Iron Rangers (hey $350 is nothing to sneeze at...it's not like I got Walmart special for $89.99.) Do you think I'd be smarter to simply enjoy my top quality (entry level) boot and save my money and not take the plunge into a pricey Nicks, Franks, Whites boot? I really appreciate your thoughts, advice and impression. Thanks a a lot. (Love your channel...I've been a sub for a long while now)
Having the Iron rangers (see my video) I’d still say you’d see a ton of improvements from going with one of the PNW guys. In particular I’d say grab some Franks Wiltshire boots! You can do them up how you want with are we type of outsole and leather to suit your style! Really app you watching and taking the time to comment, means a lot! The rest of you question is how deep you want to go into the boot world, you are climbing the mountain but redwings are not on the top. Cheers 🥾🥾
Quality of construction & materials mater regardless of the paces you do (or don't) put them through.
Also, these boots provide an arch like nothing else you've experienced, and IMO that matters more and more as we age.
So I say do it.
Call'em on the phone, they are very easy to talk to, tell'em where you are at, and they can suggest what they think would be best for you personally in how/when you wear shoes.
