I think that the criticism given within this video is fair except for the clip of that one streamer/youtuber talking about their experience with the game. In their full clip talking about it, it just becomes very apparent that they just did not know how to play stalker. I will say in fairness, if the game itself cannot teach someone how to play the game, that is concerning. However from what I have heard everyone but him had a good time with the demo. It feels like that clip was cherry picked, when there are many many many times more clips of people talking about their time with the demo being one that they enjoyed quite alot. I do think that it is fair to ask the question of why this project is so important in the middle of a war, seems like priorities are mixed up. However addressing that I believe that pride is a factor along with a sense of Ukrainian identity. Another factor could be that they need to keep working on it so it can release, they get a monetary return from their investment into the game, and thus can provide for their families and their employees as well. Factors like that could explain why they focused on the game.
Yea, I mainly used the clip from Luke to point out the bad decision of giving out bad demos for people to review. Well. When I want critics about product - I want constructive critics with well placed arguments *about product*. Expected/reported performance issues? Compatibility issues? Critical bugs or crashes mid-demo? Bad writing and/or excessive linearity of the game? It's my IMHO, but I expect from critics (it doesn't matter whether it is professional or amateur criticism) surges of critical information. I've got none here. Sincerely yours, Positively toxic. =) P.S. While I do agree with some of your statements regarding GSC studio, your video was about STALKER 2 game. Not Studio past sins.
It's about statistics. If they have had years of bad business practices & they are still making bad business practices till this day, then statistically stalker 2 could have some major issues...
@@Bran.man24 problem with statistics is - it is not reliable and easy manipulated data (with an exception of statistics with raw absolute numbers). That's what interest most of target audience you talk to.
Hey dude I'm skeptical as well. A few weeks ago I was overhyped, I even downloaded and finished the OG vanilla Stalker games in preparation. But so far, all I've seen that is interesting is the visuals and absolutely nothing else. The game just went gold and they've released the 'Smoking Barrels' trailer, which while looking good, doesn't show anything new. Game looks pretty, but the AI seems to have an issue in taking cover, in the OG they went into cover as soon as you looked at them funny, they were lethal and flanked you with ease, I didn't see that happen in any trailer so far. I didn't get to see the factions either, I think we got to see bandits and some loners? Could be wrong, but I don't remember seeing Freedom, Duty or military guys whatsoever, at least not that I could recognize. I wish we could get a sample of how their A-life 2.0 works in practice, so far they've just talked briefly about it and didn't touch the subject again. Modding support is also something they said they were working on, but gave barely any details. Interface 2d icons looks sharp and good, but the inventory/trade interface itself looks much poorer and have no details compared to Call of Pripyat or Clear Sky. I was just about to preorder it because of the hype and also because I want to help them somehow, but these lack of details are worrisome to me. On all the gameplay they've shown us so far, I didn't see much life sparkled into the world, Stalker, while very desolate, always have some sort of firefight or little events going on. On the other hand, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 just released some new freeform gameplay footage with lots of dialogue, combat, game mechanics being shown and explained and they are two to three months away from release. We are 11 days away from Stalker 2 release. Let's see if we get more details closer to release, here's hoping
Exactly. I'm still completely confused why they have decided to show very little of the game. It sucks what they are going through, but I can't just spend my money on something that I don't want or isn't good, just because they are going through a war. Thanks for watching & your response, buddy.
i played a 1 year old build of the game. and lemme tell you, taking cover is not a problem for the ai at all. i even noticed how they instantly seek for cover once they need to reload, they dont just stand there and reload. so yeah, they do be taking cover

Honestly, I don't see a lot of your points. My only real concern is that a lot of the developers have changed sense the first STALKER games, I just wonder if it will have that same "feel" to it or if its just going to be a STALKER themed average game you would pay a AAA studio for. When it comes to things like delays, or working on the game through a war, I don't see a problem personally. I'd rather a delayed game for decades than a rushed game.
@y0h0p38 you just named all the points I was making for this video. I want to get people thinking about the game like you are doing. That's why I gave as much info in the video as I did. I people to make their own decision about the game after seeing all the information I have laid out in the video. Thanks for watching
@generalagony I know you were just giving me shit & its cool. Im not all sensitive, I don't get my feelings hurt as easy as most other people do. I just heard that they aren't letting reviews go out until the same day the game releases. That gives off some bad vibes, like some cyberpunk 2077 vibes. I've already heard that the game runs badly on Xbox. I also heard the game is large as hell to. 143gb base game & then it'll have a day one patch of 138gb. That is crazy file sizes. Thanks for watching
Idk this seems like you tried your best to find anything negative about the game that is not even out yet. The "incompetence" being stuff like an old demo for press, like you somehow think they would build a new demo every tiny update to the game. And frankly any game going through delays would have issues with preorders, your entire point of "they should have delayed it more because of war" would only increase those issues you are criticising them for. I think what you are trying to do with this channel could be good for the industry. Just for the love of god don't discuss non-issues in games that are just about to drop. Also you even posted a guy saying the feedback on new demo is good, but you still try to be as negative about it as possible. You sir are incompetent. Not the devs. It's funny that you mention being out of buisness, because this is exactly what this channel is about to be if you continue whatever this even is.

What you can see below in the comments is typical fanboyism. We are at 9 days of the release of the game so the idiots that pre-ordered the game only wants to hear positivity about it so it would validate their choice.

Anyway i'm not gonna pre-order that game nor buy it day one. In a year or two the game will be completly patched by the devs and the community.

"comrade" How it feels to deepthroat a dead empire and dead ideology? Way too many "comrades" enjoy the pleasures of the western live, instead of moving to their beloved communist countries. I've heard North Korea is especially pleasing to live in.
@Bran.man24 that's petty manipulation. Your point was that GSC didn't manage to do literally anything since CoP. Cossacks 3 is much more than anything. Also you used Redux remasters as a point of 4A being more productive than GSC
4:20 this guy is the only person who didn't like it because he was new to stalker and got tired of artifact hunting. and if the game is ass the mods are going to be amazing

Good points you make there dude. I also think its gonna be a bit of a mess at launch, not to mention the internal problems they had, that led to the founding of 4A Games and the Metro series.
Yea, im kinda expecting alot of issues at launch as well. That's mostly why I wanted to make this video to make people aware of that. Thanks for watching & your feedback about the information in the video.
I'm worried that the new game will inaugurate a new era of woke S.T.A.L.K.E.R, with the anounced international presence in the zone, plus GSI's anti-Russian stance, Ukraine being painted in western media as the LGBT and minority-friendly side of that conflict -- never mind all the neo-nazi grounps that were incorporated into Ukraine's armed forces, they're led by a zionist Jew after all... It just feels like bad timing, politically and geopolitically speaking, for a new installment in that specific franchise, on top of it coming through as pretty much exhausted story-wise already after SoC (CS had the same exact story as SoC and CoP had no story at all, I doubt they will be able to come with a plot that isn't a retelling of SoC's except dumber and also woke, like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ick!)
Only thing I agree with you on is that the studio is clearly using the war in Ukraine as a shield to deflect criticism, you'll see it on release. They'll be talking about the war in their reviews instead of the actual game, the trials the developers went through instead of the actual game and then give it a 8/10 and a participation trophy even if it's a buggy POS on release. It's a perfect storm, what better way to sell a product.
A way to sell the game ? They're Ukrainians ffs, their country, fellow citizens and families are broken and torn apart, and they have to deal with the fact that Russia has been occupying their minds and cultures for over a hundred years. What else do you want them to do ? It's currently their lifework, of course they're talking about the war in THEIR country.
Exactly. It's definitely not the kind of way we need to support the game. It's not good to give somebody toxic positivity because that will just encourage them to make slop & expect it to sell because people accepted it once before. I made this video to get people thinking about the situations surrounding this game. It's working really good & I'm surprised how many people actually see where I'm coming from. Thanks for watching, buddy.
@@_Hyda_ nope, not yet. Just going off their reputation & statistics to make the conclusion that stalker 2 could end up the same way. I will be streaming & reviewing the game if you wanna come check it out. My other YT is @Branman Gaming & my Twitch is branman86.
You are right. I said it before myself, they should've let people know that they can't move on with the development since the war broke out. Or at least give a realistic ETA, not overpromise and underdeliver. Personally, I haven't pre-ordered this game and I'll stick to the "Never pre-order a game" rule for the exact same reason: they can't be trusted. And they're not the only company to use this strategy, we've heard of bigger names out there doing the same thing. This game has a very big risk of being bad or a second Cyberpunk 2077 in terms of bugs. I'll see opinions online about it after its release and then I'll think about buying the game. A realistic approach to this would be: the game is bad unless proven otherwise.
That's exactly why I made this video. To make as many people aware that there might be a high likelihood that the game will have alot of issues at launch. I mostly cover the bad & negative practices of the gaming industry on my channel because I'm fed up with these gaming companies taking advantage of the consumers. If they can't do the job right, then they don't need to do it at all.
I'm a person who lives by the motto: (do it right the first time so you don't have to deal with negative outcomes by doing it wrong the first time). Thanks for watching & understanding some of the points I was trying to make with the video.
Sincerely yours,
Positively toxic. =)
Learnt statistics myself enough not to trust it unless I know how displayed data was resulted.
And again - statistics might be relevant for sales. Not for quality of disputed game.
@@baho6475 was that older build you played as bad as Luke Stephen's was making it out to be? I usually see what he has to say about things because he's pretty frank about if a game is in a rough state.
@@Bran.man24 it was pretty bad ngl. had some bugs, voices of chars where only ai. but my guess is that this build was just to test the map/locations. had no story elements, nothing. also can confirm that all the bugs i had and problems i had, seem to be fixed from the gameplay trailers we saw
@@baho6475 Really glad to hear, that's one less thing to worry about. I'm on the fence, but willing to give the benefit of the doubt and buy the game to support them
Honestly, I don't see a lot of your points.
Syfy stands for science fiction. Saying syfy fiction is redundant just like atm machine or vin number.
Yea yea. Can't be perfect all the time in life. It's all about getting the point across.
@ just giving you a hard time. No hard feelings. Good video. Hoping the game is good. It’ll be my first time with the franchise.
@jonek3183 just laying out all the facts for people to decide for themselves. People who aren't emotional actually understand the video, while the emotional people see the video in a delusional way....
@@Bran.man24 while spicing it up with some wild bs like "incompetence" of the studio. Don't be acting like you are some kind of a reporter. You misrepresented the facts for reasons beyond me, but calling it "laying out the facts" is even more delusional that I seem to be.
@jonek3183 If you can't see that the studio has been incompetent over the years, then you sir, are the delusional one....
I own all the older games yet i have never played them lol, and it's odd i want to play this although i want to play on PS and that won't be possible till sometime next year so i may just pick it up on pc.
What you can see below in the comments is typical fanboyism. We are at 9 days of the release of the game so the idiots that pre-ordered the game only wants to hear positivity about it so it would validate their choice.
Exactly. I can't stand when people do that crap. If someone makes a bad decision, just own that shit.
So you’re both dumb huh?
My two main concerns are :
- Every Stalkers games have very rough releases, like borderline unplayable.
- I'm afraid that the war in Ukraine is going to affect the story of the game and i'm not interrested in that kind of sh*t.
- I'm not even sure that the same people that released Call of Prypiat.
Anyway i'm not gonna pre-order that game nor buy it day one. In a year or two the game will be completly patched by the devs and the community.
Yea, that's why I wanted to lay out all that info to show people the track record of the studio & that there might be a high likelihood the game will have major problems at release. Thanks for watching & for the common sense replies.
lol, yeah sorry there's a war going on that's inconvenient for your consumer opinion. Wtf are you even saying?
@InvictusProductionsX my point proven. People have become so weak that they will hand over their money for nothing....
@@Bran.man24 If your point is to prove that you're in idiot with absolutely no understanding of how anything works outside of your mom's basement, then you're right... you're proving your point.
I'm skeptical about Stalker 2 because I'm skeptical about all game industry and every game released these days. Let's see the reviews and how it holds up before opening my wallet. Let the weak minded be carried away by all the hype and fomo.
I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for watching, buddy
well said comrade, it's refreshing to hear some down to earth reasoning, couldn't agree more.
i wasn't aware of the studio split, and that this group of devs haven't released anything since the og stalkers, that's very concerning
Yea, a lot of people aren't aware of this studios past. Also, anytime I cover something, I try to give the whole picture/info of what I'm covering so people can better make their own decision if they want it or not. Thanks for watching & giving some feedback. I really appreciate it.👍
"comrade" How it feels to deepthroat a dead empire and dead ideology?
Way too many "comrades" enjoy the pleasures of the western live, instead of moving to their beloved communist countries.
I've heard North Korea is especially pleasing to live in.
Except they released Cossacks 3 back in 2016 and were releasing a lot of games before S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
@@n1flung that was a remake of cassacks 3 in 2016. So that isn't an actual new game...
People buying the game helps their economy. helps the ukrainians economy. helping the war
i finished only Shadow of Chernobil i liked it very much but next parts not so much ... lets not expect too much eh the guy have a point here, nice vid 10x
@@Radostin-us7uq Thanks for watching & seeing where I was coming from.👍
This has gotta be the most brain dead take ive seen on this issue
@@CappityDappity just speaking facts big dog....
Get ratioed
This is sort of the MO of the company and how the first game was released. But keep being ignorant.
Are you talking to me or the other commenters? I can't tell because how you phrased your comment.😆
Do you know how buggy S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl was on launch?
fkn kid.
Yea, all their games have been buggy as hell.... The studio has a reputation of modders having to fix all the games they have created....
@@Bran.man24 So you have played S.TA.L.K.R 2?
@@_Hyda_ nope, not yet. Just going off their reputation & statistics to make the conclusion that stalker 2 could end up the same way.
I will be streaming & reviewing the game if you wanna come check it out. My other YT is @Branman Gaming & my Twitch is branman86.
Sounds like a cyberpunk2077 situation
Did CDPR also delayed their Cyberpunk release 4 times or did they released it even when it was clearly not finished and polished at all? :D
@@ghstproject it was announced 7 years before release and they did delay it numerous times and still ended up releasing it unfinished
Big thanks for watching the video & understanding where I'm coming from. 👍
