Arn Anderson said it different a few days ago on his podcast he said paul beat up vader and when vader got up and pushed paul into the wall. That Meng was the one who broke them up
It would have been SuperBowl 14 (1980) supposedly, but I don't think that's true. There is no record of him ever lacing up for a pro game at all. He was drafted in '78 by the Rams, he would have got a ring if he was on the practice squad, injured or even cut during the season www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/ram/1978_draft.htm
BS, don't believe him. Bullies always get scared when their 1st action fails. He started it but was too scared to end it. vader was 6'4/ 450 lbs, paul was 6'/ 200 lbs.
Why would Paul block him from going to do the interview if thats all he wanted from him in the first place? Sounds like that's the spot he skipped over the truth. Arn Andersons version of this seen the most logical. 😑
Not when you hear about other Turner contracts - Nash & Hall famously got 'Favored Nation' clauses in their contracts, so no one that came into the organization after them could make more than them, they would receive a salary increase. INSANE
mrbadguysan I've heard about 20 shoot interviews where guys bury Vader. He was a prick to whoever he could get away with it and was very disliked. That's why when this fight happened there was a collective cheer and Vader was painted as the shit disturber who got his ass handed to him when that wasn't what happened.
barry bolder You mean you've watched a bunch of UA-cam videos where guys are telling stories about the past 2, 3, 4, 5+ decades in a niche entertainment industry and you've ASSumed where everyone stands on this guy and that guy and that group, probably with a little influence from your own feelings as well. No, just because someone tells a story from x amount of time ago about an incident that they may have not even been involved with doesn't mean that this person has feelings one way or another about the person in the story. Really, why the hell does this have to be explained? "Someone told a negative story about someone else - guess they really must hate them", No shit you know that human interaction is more complex than that.
I love Big Van , and I love Mr. Wonderful. But at the point of each of their careers at this point, Vader was bigger and stronger. Yes he performed stiff, and did a lot of bully shoots, and Van has admitted to that. But Orndorff was lucky to still be breathing. Just my opinion. Orndorff’s health was shot.
Haku would be the most honest about the story he broke it up. A lot of people hated Vader. Penzer did say Vader wanted to continue before Haku came in.

man I don't think I've heard anybody say they can take Haku which is crazy in the wrestling world were everyone bullshits just because we'll new jack said he'd hide in a bush and hit him with a cinder block but he was probably cracked out of his mind so he don't count would've loved to see Haku in his prime fight 3 random guys in a bar
I never believed Paul's story about this fight. Vader would have killed him if he wanted to
he was a very mobile athletic 100 lbs heavier than him.
Wtf?? Those that really loved wrestling in the 90's KNEW Vader EARNED that money. Jealous ass Flair. Vader was so fucking believable man. He damn well deserved what he was making
Oh, how Vader was misused at the end of his WCW run and his entire WWF run. He was extremely talented and had a great character and persona. I think both he and Sid Vicious (He'll always be Vicious and not Sycho Sid or Sid Justice to me) were dealt bad hands. Both of them featured prominently in the WWF Attitiude era would have been nuts. Vader v Foley, Sid v Taker, and various combos between those four would have been fantastic. Vader in HIAC would have been brutal. I could see him going up top but falling off would be another thing
It's so weird seeing him without the mask.
On stone colds podcast he said Paul caught Vader with a left and dropped him and then stomped him out with flip flops on
Yeah, I am going with Leon on this flip-flops at a TV show, Paul was already having medical issues and no strength in his arm that he slapped him with, love Mr.Wonderful but not buying his story.
The pinnacle of Vader's career was when he guest starred on "Boy Meets World" as Frankie Stuccino' father.
Hey Hannibal, if you ever interview either Haku or Eric Bischoff in the future, please ask them to tell you their own side of this story, because they were present at the time of the incident, so maybe we can finally have a clear conclusion of what really happened that night.
Bischoff refused to do one with us but we are hoping to get Haku soon!
I've heard Eric's response to what happened that night. He took Paul's side of the story. Plus Vader went back after him after the meeting and Paul took him out again. Even with his crab arm and wearing shower shoes.
Any chance in getting Bob Holly? I'd love to see you do one with him.
Might be down to the fact he's done quite a few already now and doesn't fancy doing anymore.
I’ve always noticed that the bigger a guy is the bigger heart he has. Vader was a class act. I don’t think he really wanted to hurt anyone.
I think Orndorff had loyalties with some of the guys they didn't want to burn him.I believe Vader's story yea he took some boots but totally beat down don't think so plus like he said Paul was hurt. Many were jealous of Vader he was stiff and he was getting paid$$.Vader was not one of the boys.
Vader is the man!!
Ok, so the majority of “flip flop” story teller wrestlers clearly disliked Vader. They all viewed him as a jerk and/or bully. So by jumping on the bandwagon together with the laughable story of Paul getting the upper hand, they get rid of a back stage jerk, a stiff worker, and headline spot holder… or they could be honest and perpetuate his tough guy rep over a sickly back stage manager. Come on, I think we can all see what happened here.
I don't know other wrestlers collaborate Paul's rendition
Vader would be such a cool uncle to have.
Yes.
He would get on the kitchen counter and Vader bomb you through the dinner table on thanksgiving.
Arn Anderson said it different a few days ago on his podcast he said paul beat up vader and when vader got up and pushed paul into the wall. That Meng was the one who broke them up
I think a lot of people hated Vader backstage and used the story to bash hin
I believe Robert Fullers version, he didn’t have a dog in the fight and was a unbiased witness
I totally believe Vader! I don't believe the myth of the one-armed Orndorff LOL
"He hit the ground hard! I slapped the shit out of him"! 😂
He was saying it as I scrolled past your comment.
I believe Vader , he didnt want to hurt Paul ... Paul use this story for years to build his ego .. RIP to both of them though , good memories
Vader was a good heel in WCW with Harley race as his manager.
Vader and race were a great team.
What's the ring he's wearing as not in the HOF yet?
His NFC Championship ring. He played in Superbowl 24.
Wait Vader was on the Rams team that played the Steelers in January 1980.
What position did Vader play?
Was he an offensive lineman
Dan Livni he was a center/Guard
Pauls arm at that time was in terrible shape from continual nerve danage. Could not train much and was no longer 265 pounds.
WOW, never heard this version of the story.
For the ones who think Paul beat the shit out of Leon is absolutely crazy. Not many men could whip Leon in his prime.
Joey styles knocked out Bradshaw..anything’s possible
Big Van wasnt lying
BS, don't believe him. Bullies always get scared when their 1st action fails. He started it but was too scared to end it. vader was 6'4/ 450 lbs, paul was 6'/ 200 lbs.
Why would Paul block him from going to do the interview if thats all he wanted from him in the first place? Sounds like that's the spot he skipped over the truth. Arn Andersons version of this seen the most logical. 😑
I agree. He even said Steve said to him "how does it feel"....he outtted himself with that too...nobody say that unless u got your ass kicked.
Holy shit he had 6 years guaranteed left? That is hard to believe.
Not when you hear about other Turner contracts - Nash & Hall famously got 'Favored Nation' clauses in their contracts, so no one that came into the organization after them could make more than them, they would receive a salary increase. INSANE
great video
Vader is more believable than Orndorff. Plus you can't always go by what Orndorff says.
lol it's obvious Orndorff started the shit but the fat prick deserved it. He treated anyone he could like shit and karma bit him on the ass.
mrbadguysan I've heard about 20 shoot interviews where guys bury Vader.
R.I.P..Leon
I love Big Van , and I love Mr. Wonderful. But at the point of each of their careers at this point, Vader was bigger and stronger. Yes he performed stiff, and did a lot of bully shoots, and Van has admitted to that. But Orndorff was lucky to still be breathing. Just my opinion. Orndorff’s health was shot.
Orndorff knocked the shyt out of him…everyone confirmed that. Rip to both legends
Vader comes off very honest and genuine. I believe his side of the story
so you saying the story told to Steve Austin was BS???
Both gone but both legendary.
I was surprised to hear that orndorff could take on vader and beat him... glad Vader Cleared that up!!
Lmao Funny how Vader is the only one with this story? 🤔 Everyone else says Paul kick his AZZ! 🤣
Haku would be the most honest about the story he broke it up. A lot of people hated Vader. Penzer did say Vader wanted to continue before Haku came in.
