BMW E23 Blower Motor Removal - 1985 735i

Starting a HVAC revamp on this 85 735i. It has the normal issues of a dead blower motor (before I replaced it), inoperable vacuum pods, and water leaking in from the firewall at the seal to the evaporator box.

Hi David, I'm embarking on a similar mission with my 1884 e23 733. I'm glad I found your channel! I heard you say the expansion valve was inside the cabin. Any pointers on what I need to remove to access it would be great.

you can access that the expansion valve and get it removed if you remove the glove box and that small trim piece to the left of the glovebox. The valve will be encapsulated in a foam block that you'll open up as it's folded around it. Then pull that foam block down and out, it'll be a tight fit as it's wedged in there. from that point you can get wrenches on it and service it.
