The criterion collection needs to release a Blu-ray of all of his short films and the tale of the fox
Starewisz work is so inspiring in it’s moth eaten diary soulful re animating of the dead kind of way.
Currently my favourite channel of all of youtube. Your video essays like this one are simply amazing. Thank you for taking the time for doing them.
Thank you so much for watching!
AGREED!
The idea of using taxidermied animals as stop motion puppets is morbid at first glance but at the same time oddly fascinating. Mixing animation with the macabre to make something surreal, twisted, and yet at the same time whimsical lends a lot of creative potential for authors to explore. I would love for another film of it's caliber to be made in modern times, just without the animals being killed by the artist to make the puppets, and a warning sign that says something along the lines of (the following film using actual taxidermied animals that have all died of natural causes and where not directly killed during development of this movie, viewer discretion is advised.) in order to avoid controversy.
You should make more content like this!
He’s a interesting man, who created for what I considered the first stop motion animated feature film, I even had a opportunity to watch The Tale of The Fox for my lifetime.
Thanks to him, Cameraman’s Revenged is my favorite stop motion animated short.
Thank you for the video! I have a few pet bugs myself and seeing their cousins reanimated is amusing to say the least.
Lovely work! Informative and so much fun to watch. Perfect for animation nerds like me. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
