I put a flatbed on my ram, 3500 removed factory bed. Did a lot of research cm are cookies stamped. I’ve heard a lot of people complain of rust. After a couple years I went aluminum as I said a lot of research I went with Bull Head Flatbed. Out of Kodak Tennessee very well-built had a lot of welders. Comment on how good the weld are. And they give you good personalize service.

Nice video and editing. I have a 3rd gen Cummins 2wd with an 8’ bed that’s beat up, but still pretty solid. I’d love to fabricate a flatbed for it at some point.

Maybe bedlining/raptor lining the bed would minimize or eliminate rust?

I regret not buying a flatbed 5years ago for mine it’s my first truck but with 56k miles I’ll have plenty of time to get one I just wish I had gotten one back then

Our flat bed has issues at the gas station. The filler neck is relatively flat when compared to a standard truck bed. Love the flat bed but that is one CON.

Oh yes!!! It takes for ever to fill sometimes. I need to do a video on fixing that. Thanks for the comment!!

Good video, looking at swapping my factory bed for a flatbed. My local dealer offers cm. Glad to hear another opinion on them. Seem to consistently be hearing they chip and rust easy. Part of my thinking is either using a different brand, however I like my local dealer. Purchase a lot of trailers from them. So I may check into cm aluminum bed. We plow and salt with my company vehicles. I agree on all the pros. I like the added work space. Larger bed area with out wheel wells protrusions. Great gooseneck hook up access without climbing up into the darn truck bed. I have an L tank and I don’t like how trapped and gross stuff gets in the corner of the factory bed. The tank nozzle dribbles after use and covers the bed. Flatbed would be easier to clean and what not. Thanks for making the video

Thankyou. I want to put one on my 1969 f250 fwd. Alit for looks and of course usability. Anyone have experience with putting them on older trucks? Got me thinking about doung it on my 2013 f450. But it is a platinum, seems wrong but an aluminum one may look really good. Thanks again.

It cost a lot to fill. But it’s nice to not have to stop for fuel. Thanks for the comment.

Modern trucks are too big and too tall for regular sized people doing real truck work.
