This is a review and/or a mini demo of the Spectra S1 Hospital Grade Double Electric Breast Pump with Rechargeable Battery. I have been using this breast pump for close to four-months now and I liked how it’s always seem to work really well for me. As compared to other brands out there, the Spectra S1 is really great, and value for money.

Hi Ellie, thanks for this detailed review of the S1. I bought the S1 in the US (where I live). But I am returning to SG and now have no idea if my pump power adaptor will work in SG. Do you know where/how I could buy an adaptor head? Or will a simple international wall adaptor be enough? As I understand, pumps should be able to be used internationally, in the case of traveling mums? TIA!

1. How often do you clean your tubing & the back-flow protector ?
2. Do you wash with warm soapy water and sterilizer the parts ( breast shield, bottle & valve) or just wash with
warm soapy water?
3. Can we sterilize the valve?

Hii! How much time does it take to express milk and how many ml??
Hello Ellie thank you for sharing. My sister gave me her Medela Swing which the tubes and accessories need to be replaced. Instead of doing that, I am thinking to get a new pump either M1 or S1. What do you think? My biggest concern will be low/no milk supply especially in the beginning. I am pregnant with my first child and want to make sure I will be able to BF even if I might have latching issue.
Kim Suan Lee Hi dear! What I did initially was to latch exclusively. The constant latching definitely helps to build up your milk supply. It was only after 2wks (when I was having painful engorgements!) that I decided to get the S1. I find that the S1 is stronger as compared to the M1 for sure. Hope this helps!
Hi, could u teach us how to clean and sterilize the pump after each use?
Emily Ng I'll wash the parts with warm soapy water and either air dry, or put them into my sterilizer. Leave the tubes alone, to prevent water droplets from getting inside! Hope it helps!
