How to Change and Replace Ceiling Downlights - Step by Step

In this video I show you how easy it is to replace your downlights.
A lot of downlights these days are fixed units, which means you cannot change the bulb, instead, you have to but a whole new light fitting.
These types of light have a LED in them, which will last for thousands of hours, but when they do go, it's rather annoying.
So instead of replacing like for like, I have opted for a fire rated version that allows you to change the bulb, and it is far cheaper - cool!!

Best to turn all the power off as, especially in a hallway in older properties, you could have a borrowed neutral from the upstairs circuit ( or visa versa)...and although your circuit is off, if someone was to turn the other circuit light on you will get a nasty supprise via the neutral. It is usually when working upstairs you find this out....ha
To be double sure turn the lot off.... And make sure the cable clamps inside fitting clamp onto the sheath of the cable not the inner cores...and there are no inner cores showing outside the fitting.
