George seeks his mother's affection by doing what she wants in the beginning even then he didn't get her love. Mary instead gave it freely to Sandy causing George to envy her. In some ways Mary IS responsible for what George become at the end. After Mary got her own ambition of power, wealth and position, she left him alone in the hands of the power hungry Bacon who also manipulates him but thats the price when you play the game of power, there is no middle ground.
Julianne, Nicholas and Tony play their roles so incredibly well! STARZ need to promote this series more for the Emmy's season especially since only 1 episode left, to get the rewards, even nominations was great especially with how tight the limited category this year is BUT it seems like this series will be lost in the streaming.

This show should get awards in all areas. It has been outstanding. And the performances, especially Curran and Galitzine, have been complex and breathtaking.
