It's really funny to see your experiences, but you could really save money and time or buy better transmitter/receiver combos if you first buy an airplane built like the "easystar" and really learn to fly in a relaxed manner. PS: hope you don't lose the fun, because as written, it's really entertaining!
Subscribing to see you crash the p-39 Racing Cobra in about 5 seconds. I agree with your mentality about having fun, I just don't think you're aware that fun is enjoyment x time, not just the intensity of a short burst of enjoyment, and you will end up with more time flying and more total fun in the long run if you get a trainer, join a club, get an instructor and prevent yourself from failing out of this hobby. Good luck either way, I'll be watching for the trainwreck or the glory, whatever may come.
Hate to see you loose a plane like others have said a recovery boat is a must. It might not seem like much but that front gear needed to go it throws off you c.g. and digs into the water, You really need to be good at landing on the ground to try water landings and personally I wouldnt do it unless the plane had reverse thrust to that helps get it back to you better luck to you its a fun part to get into I recently got the fms Cessna I am loving it
Half the fun of flying is venturing into the unknown, but too bad about the Ranger. I know you were liking that plane and hopefully you can get it back someday. That Cobra in both sizes looks like a fun plane though! Looking forward to it
Live and learn but you are learning the hard way buddy with the loss of a plane. Years ago I lost a plane when we had only FM or Am radios and someone turned on their radio with the same channel as I had. A dog walker found the plane and I was able to repair it after working on it for a month when it was made of balsa wood. The guy who turned on his radio with the same channel said he would give me a few bucks but never did. He was a jackass and I never saw him again.
Hey man I’m in the same boat. I’m from CT and new to flying. I bought a cheap $35 Amazon plane to practice on and I did good then I bought a Strix nano goblin and I can’t keep it in the air. If I break it my next plane if I break the nano goblin will be a zohd drift dark breeze. I seen it’s easier to fly
@oscarvandale7775 the whole "no gyro", you MUST do it this way angle is very short sighted and people pushing that agenda are adding unnecessary stress on people which may ultimately push them away from the hobby. You can start your own channel if you want to push people away.
TRULY a high wing trainer will get you there fastest...im at 10 weeks😉 loops, rolls and spectacular crashes! I've got floats for my Maule m7 (and a boat to chase it with) but I'm totally not ready. I can glue the crashes, but when the electronics get wet 💸💸💸
Water flying is awesome but a whole lot different to land flying. I love your enthusiasm you sound like such a nice guy, but you need help you are 1 flight from disaster. Please respect wind direction, you never seem to do this. You must take off into wind and land into wind, especially on water as the plane needs to break off the water, it starts to plane like a speedboat, the float tip comes off the water. You need a method of retrieval, i use a cheap rc boat with a coathanger on the front to push a stranded floatplane back. Hope you got it back, its probably floated to another point, !
Find a local club and get some training or you will continue to stack up wrecked and lost planes. Much more fun to fly when you are successful. Cheaper too.
I don't know anyone that's flown off of water and doesn't have a retrieval boat. I guess you thought you were a good enough pilot to take off and land on the water and taxi back to you. Oh boy just don't hurt anyone. 🤠🤠🤠
My man, can you explain something to me? You need to be careful where you fly. You have competing airports there with major traffic. It sounds funny, but your model can get out of shape and end up in the flight path of a major airport with real traffic. You have two majors near your launch. Just be careful. You are flying in NY's most heavily flown approaches, LGA and JFK!!! Actually, you have no business flying there. There is a very real reason why you start with a TRAINER at a certified flying field. If you hit something or someone and they are "SUE" happy, you will be flying nothing and maybe even do a Bid. Just sayin
Never go fly a float plane with out a boat to retrieve it, sad to loose it but lesson learnt 🥲 If your going to star flying more technical planes think about a Radiomaster radio wity ELRS recivers. Painless 360 has some great videos.
He will, because the TT Evo - despite being one of the most awesome UMXes, if not THE most awesome - is brittle. He should stay with EPO foam for a while. Consider the Apprentice STOL 700 - or better: a sim 😂 (ok, I stop with this)
Both are more fragile than an EPP profile plane from Twisted Hobbies, or similar. My UMX Timber doesn't work well on grass which might not work in the ball diamond in the city. I'd expect the UMX Apprentice would do the same. Both of those UMX planes have the unreliable linear servos that Horizon continues to use despite their long history of catastrophic failures. The linear servos don't match the price point. If I knew about them before I bought my UMX planes I wouldn't have bought them.
I love your spirit, Bris. Keep up the flying. The planes are beautiful, and flying them is a challenge. You'd be a great addition to any RC club.
Thank you very much, Daniel 😊
You crack me up man ! Been there with my wife too, I totally get you 😂🤣😂
😂

The moment I start losing joy, I change habits. This is fun and money is made to be burned 🔥 🙃 😂
Ahh sucks about losing the other plane... but then-BOOM racing cobra. 🤘😂🤘
And, hopefully this one doesn't go BOOM! when I maiden it 😂✌️
I think you need to change your channel name from "bigbristv" to "Big Risk". 😊
😂🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for this! Finally, someone listens (if you didn't like the video, hit the thumbs up, AND subscribe! 😄
sad about lost plane dude 😢 maybe you will get it back 🤞 those two new ones look fantastic though 😀👍👍👍😀😀
Thanks. Maybe she'll come home, I was just out there. No sign of her 😔
I hope the Ranger finds its way home. Cobra looks awesome too, the journey continues…..
Thanks! Hopefully a better time will be had with the Cobra...

Thanks man 😁
I see you like yellow planes, have you seen the e-flite super timber?
Yes, but I didn't realize I like yellow planes 🤔 maybe a Big Bird thing? 🤔😂
You putting the wagon in front of the horse flying jets before trainer planes😅
😂

Sorry for your loss. I feel as tho I got my money's worth with that plane and have learned a valuable lesson.
Yeah mine was fun. Flying and enjoying, then battery dies and it drops like a rock into the river.
I got me a kitchen timer. Always forget to set it tho, so there's that.
Thanks
Dude you just eating through planes. Get something like a turbo timber and stop the bleeding😂😂
🤔 nah, imma just...😂 Thanks
@@bigbristv love your don't give up spirit, keep pressing forward bro.
@D-Slowpass 😁

I feel you man, keep at it. Not familiar with the rigs you've mentioned, but I'll take a look.
@@bigbristv I will definitely keep at it

Stop buying planes and buy a transmitter.
🤔 that's the plan if I decide to keep going. 😄

You know, I was just thinking, shouldn't a plane that comes with floats have waterproof electronics? 🤔
@@bigbristv nah-- they assume we can fly 😂
And you can forget it anyway after that salt water

Nope get another high Wing bra let the mid and low wing chill or delta wing like a zaggy
Nah, gang or go home 😁

Brother man if you're just learning you should get yourself a glider and quit messing with this small stuff it's way harder to fly
That's how I like it. Difficult out of the gate. Sink or swim. Wait 😶
@@bigbristv right on brother just have fun
man you don't play games do ya in for a penny in for a 100 lbs

I’d say 4 in 1 and can always get ELRS module that’s better than built in ELRS. Flysky receivers are $10 and pair easily.
@wayne8300 yeah true the 4 in 1 is good. I'm looking at the Radiomaster MT12 4 in 1 for my RC cars sI don't need to throw away the old recivers.
Thanks
Thanks
So now I need a boat, too? 😂
Get the umx turbo timber evolution you wont regret it.
🤔
You'd want a switch for low rates on your transmitter otherwise the throws will be WAY too big.
