@ Tony Stewart I’ve got a Kuiu Pro LT 5500, and it’s good, changed from Tatonka, definitely notice the weight saving with it but the biggest advantage over the Tatonka is a Load shelf for carrying meat. Faarking expensive though! Wait for a sale
nick sullivan Thanks Nick, as comfy to carry as they proclaim and does your gear fit in it well. Yes they aren’t cheap, I want to make sure they are worth it before spending $$$ cheers
@@tonystewart7287 They are a quality pack. Carbon fibre frame with heaps of room. Mines the ultra 7200 which is approximately 85+ litres. What i like best is i can compress it down as a day bag when ive unpacked camp. Its approx 1.7kg which is pretty light. Id suggest looking at stone glacier aswell ill probably buy that next.
@@tonystewart7287 yes they are nice to wear, there’s heaps of adjustments in the frame set up to make it right fit. Carried out 20kg plus of venison with it last night and gear and it’s like it’s not on your back with the weight. You know the weights there but it feels effortless for the shoulders, doesn’t stop the legs burning though haha
its a shame that he leaves soo much meat off that animal just to rot in the field. The front shoulders, neck, and rib meat are all great for slow cooked dishes, burgers, or sausages, but this guy is just too lazy to make the second trip to get the rest. off those two animals, the wasted meat could have amounted to at least over 30 kg of edible portions for people to consume. Even if they themselves did not need the meat, it should have been recovered, processed, and given to families that need it. Such a shame, puts a really bad look on hunters in the country, especially when there are lots that do properly respect their quarry in life and death by utilising everything off them.
You ever shot a deer in the shoulder? You like eating smashed fragments of bone? 30kg off the neck and ribs? You have no idea what your on about stick to the supermarket.
@@BGHNZ shot a yearling red hind a bit far forward last November down near lindus pass and yeah that was true. But, I just took the time to trim out the bone and bullet fragments out of each shoulder and it ended up being fine. takes time and effort, but you should really give these animals the time and effort. And btw, I've only eaten wild game for the last year and a bit, so I don't go anywhere near the supermarket meat isle, that domestic stuff is the real nasty stuff. So don't talk to me like I'm some city scrub. 30 kg should be around right if you take all the neck, ribs, flank, and shoulder off the two animals, you just need to be careful with your knife that you don't leave stuff on the bone. may be a 4-5kg's less but around that much, depending on the extent of the bullet damage. I know this because I got around 15kg trim of that small hind and a nice size fallow, so that calculation should be around
@@nareshclark8916 30kg of the neck and ribs is absolute crap. More like 3-4kg of quality meat max. 30kg off a red stag back leg yes i've shot some that would be closer to 40kg each leg. Yes you could trim a bit of shoulder meat if you have the room to carry it out. But if you don't I couldn't careless what's more important is you make a clean kill and carry whatever your capable of carrying. 90% of the hunts are back pack public land like I said tent, bag, rifle, up-to 8hrs one way to the hunting location. I'm not turning around to walk 8hrs back to collect 4 more kgs of neck meat I can assure you. As for eating wild meat for a 1 year good for you. What about the rest of your life or are you only 1? clearly you have replied on shops in the past now you've done a year and you've climbed aboard your high horse to preach to the world. Mate if you are the problem with hunting, you're to busy attacking other hunters for not taking "neck" meat rather than actually doing anything positive for the hunting community.
That's a flash looking tent m8. Very nice. And that was a bloody good shot. You couldn't do much better than that. Excellent.

How do you find the Kuiu packs?
They aren't bad mine maybe 6 years old now and will probably be replaced next year.

At the end of the day they're a pest to be controlled. Knock em over, take the best bits and move on. Stag in the roar tastes like shit anyway
