This is great. As a ZLE owner and serial SRF owner, you have convinced me to move to HTC64. Question - why not have SS brake lines installed? I’m sure a lot of us would welcome content related to the install of it.
The brake linings from the factory are actually rubber coated stainless steel braided, so there isn’t a “need” for it. Now, is there an improvement from aftermarket solutions? Yes. Is it a “required” upgrade? No. If I ever do the install on them, I will for sure make a how-to install video on it.
@@AllIsWell_22 I’m not sure either, I kept looking for it. You are absolutely correct and I misspoke. They are Fiber reinforced lines, not stainless. I think now I need to make this purchase and install video, “for science.”
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Brembo fluid. I've only used type200 and SRF on my CTS-V so far and both left me wanting a firmer pedal. Was thinking of switching to endless for my next flush since it's supposed to be the best in that regard.
The Endless solved my pedal needs. I’m on my trying the Brembo out because it is highly regarded by some friends of mine that race in WRL and participate in the Nürburgring 24h. If I don’t end up liking it, I will end up back at Endless. I’ve also heard great things about AP R4 and PFC 665.
@@FollowMyLine17 a friend said the same after swapping SRF for Endless. Yesterday tried it on track and said it was way better. So at least good to see that on road behavior is good/the same.
Great video! I'm getting my 1LE ready for it's first track day later this month and was planning to put in Castrol SRF I've read good things about it, especially its longevity over a year. I have about 4 track days and a few road trips planned between now and when I put it back into storage in November. Do you think 650 will last well and what about the brake pedal feel on the 650 do you like over the SRF? Thanks!
I’m excited for you, for your first track day! PLEASE let me know how it goes. The pedal feel with the Endless RF-650 was firmer than with the SRF. Don’t get me wrong, SRF is very, very good fluid and used by race teams across many series, but I prefer the feel to the RF-650. Also, I have had zero issues with running the Endless for an entire year, but I also store the car in winter time. For someone tracking their car, this really should be a non-issue, as you should change your fluid at least once a year, or more, if you do a lot of tracking.
Yes, it is all connected and flows through the brake master cylinder and ABS modules (when equipped) and circulated through the calipers. I am getting ready to flush my fluid this weekend. I’ll let you know the reading at the caliper and at the reservoir to help ease your mind!
Well done, as always! I’m also interested in what you find at the caliper (if there’s any difference from the Master Cylinder). I also just switched to the Brembo fluid. Had one track day on it so far. Pedal felt good. About the same as Endless in my opinion.
Awesome info!
Thanks for watching!

@@FollowMyLine17 Not sure what happened to my previous reply but the stock lines are not SS braided inside.

After making the swap, I can say the pedal feel is the same as the Endless. This is only based on “around town” driving and not on track yet.

Does this also test brake fluid in the calipers? So if you test the reservoir fluid it is the same as caliper fluid?

I swapped my fluid yesterday and tested again at the master cylinder and at the fluid that came out of the caliper. It was the exact same.
You wouldn't trust your fluid with that low moisture level for a track day?
I absolutely would! I was in the process of swapping out fluid to try the Brembo. Spoiler alert, I’m going to switch back to Endless next season.
@FollowMyLine17 thanks for the reply.
