I'm loving there being a consistent upload schedule, I hadn't even really thought about Nightreign too much and this is making me more interested in the game.

As far as leveling goes, I most certainly did not work backwards. It was the first souls game I genuinely played, and I just read the descriptions for what each stat did and allocated points according to my current build. And when I felt like switching, the game already showed me I could respec at Relanna

Same, I love to collect all the stuff even if I am not using it but i think it's the second playthrough you going to notice it's not optimal.

Yes I do think the second play through and beyond is where this system really falls apart most clearly

@@LycheeGameLabs Yea, working backwards is primarily how I go about NG+ builds

You are probably right, it could have being even more fun with the Sekuro system.
As I was watching Sekiro that was really fascinating too see the Lper always had to be better by himself not by stats.

In regards to the Sekiro section and how the developer can keep track of the player's strength, I really really love how Terraria does it's class building. First of all, no levels at all, so no time wasted on trying to understand stat bonuses, everything is equipment based so you're as strong as your armor and weapons. Second of all, the thing you get most over actual equipment is crafting materials, and those materials go towards making your equipment. You get the choice of making the armor that scales towards your weapon class (melee/ranged/magic/summons) and vice versa. Third of all, the most important part, most of your weapons are made from boss drops, so you can only be as strong as the strongest boss you've killed. If you categorize all the bosses in a list from easiest to hardest,(with some wiggle and flexibility between a few that can be tackled one over the other) you can make sure whatever you're allowed to craft is going to be appropriate for whoever is next. I would absolutely love if Elden Ring had a similar system, I find the weapon upgrades and the levels and allll the scaling stuff to just be redundant. It's cute to try to take 1 weapon from beginning to end by progressively upgrading it to keep it on track, but equipment is meant to be replaced. There's a bunch of great swords and as a great sword build you should be getting the next best one every couple of bosses, that's a lot more proper rpg to me than what Elden does. We know night reign isn't going to work like Terraria like I would want, but maybe there's a chance the next open world game they do does. If I could will that into the world at least I would with every ounce of my being. Oh also, super excited for night reign too :) I think it could be a very interesting and arcadey action experience, my one gripe is the meta stuff, I think it makes a lot of roguelites too easy or blocks off important stuff that you should just have right away, so I hope that doesn't affect too much here.

Hi, your Lychee companion here. Just wanted to thank you. I was thinking about using an AI Clone for my videos but after hearing you with your calm voice and way of speaking, I decided against that. I'm watching your videos because of you, and less for the content actually. I want to achieve something like that too.
    And Keep eating Lychees

This is a strange video. I am hyped for Nightreign, and I dont think people appreciate what it is doing and why it is cool, so I'm glad you are helping to hype it up. But im kind of like scratching my head as to why you talked about the flaws you see in Elden Ring for so long, comparing it to Nightreign, which is just a completely different genre of game! Saying Nightreign fixes the flaws in Elden Ring is like saying Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fixes the problems in Pokemon Fire Red, or something. I dont think a complete genre shift counts as a "fix" for a game. It becomes apples to oranges. Nightreign will be much more replayable than Elden Ring, but it isnt an epic RPG, which makes it kind of a moot point imo.

The change in genre indicates they understand the issues with elden rings and will likely find ways to improve them in their future games. If they make another open world RPG, I'd expect it will probably have a rather different set of character building mechanics
