11:24: when I was young I thought that Luigi laughed and cried because of Mario's face, I did not understand that he is happy that his brother is alive. And it took ten years to make a sequel!
+Laurence Hecquet The way he points at Mario when he laughs tells me he's laughing at Mario's face, but the very start of the laugh, where it's lighter and that tear rolls down shows that there is also that feeling of relief and happiness, so I'd say it's a mix of both emotions going on. What a wonderful ending to a great game. :)
In my opinion the most fun game of the Super Mario franchise and it's the only one that gives me chills. Luigi's tears of joy really symbolize the bond of their Brotherhood. It's a beautiful ending to a great game.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 nearly comes close to feeling the same, especially near the final boss. Mario should’ve joined in that fight, throwing punches at King Boo to distract him and help Luigi
If the polterpup tried to save Mario, he wouldn't stand a chance, and if he tried to save all three of them, he would've been caught in the portrait too. That's why the potlerpup had to shove Luigi out of the way.
I've seen and heard of a fanfic of the world of Light where an 11 year old girl, mnaged to survive Galeem's massacre with Kirby, after they survived, the girl was consumed by the despairs of the world of light, turned bloodthirsty for vengeance, even at the risk of taking her own life in order to kill Galeem and Dharkon, but when she survived and witnessed the trillions of souls flying home in the sunset sky, The girl just broke down wailing, not tears of sadness, but tears that push everyone forward; she was wailing incredibly loudly and so much, to the point where some of the fighters decide to stay with her so she could recover from her emotional and psychological trauma; and go back to being the happy-going cheerful kid she is.
I’m 13 but a lover of all mario and luigi’s games and I remember that my grandfather bought me this when I was 7 years old after 8 months of reserces. Now it’s not here anymore and I can only say thanks to him for buying me this game.
10:40 Watching Luigi cry and laughing after reuniting with Mario both surprised and made me emotional and smiled at his joy, this scene literally shows how much he loves his brother.
I mean, going through a haunted mansion, enduring all that psychological and mental torture that nearly made you pass out from fear, and seeing this really hits hard.
Did any else find Bowser's head coming off kinda disturbing as a kid? Lol And this game is still awesome in 2024. I always liked the atmosphere of it and how threatening of an antagonist King Boo is :)
I played this on my Game Cube and reached the final level but I NEVER was able to pass it. I didn't know how to as much as I tried. UA-cam wasn't back then what it is now, so I couldn't really search how to win. Years later, it's nice to know how it ended. This is probably the BEST video game I ever played.
Love that ending so much, it's just so nice seeing Luigi finally save Mario after all the scary stuff he's been through. I love the little music that plays as he picks up the painting.
13:07 I just noticed at this part, if you have headphones on you can hear that there’s two people whistling. So it’s both Mario and Luigi whistling the tune

Finally beat this game at the age of 24 years and honestly seeing Luigi cry and laugh after saving Mario gave me such conflicting feelings of happiness and sadness, thanks Luigi you’re a great brother ❤️
Thats one of the nicest endings I’ve seen in a game. The shock and look of how silly Mario looks just makes Luigi cry and laugh with joy and relief. After all that horror, he has finally saved his brother... yeah let’s just make a sequel to make that moment again... BUT WORSE! But cool. :)
I like the fact that in this game they need a whole machine to get something out of a painting but in modern games it’s just a little add on to the poltergeist
Do people actually think this ending is meant to be heartwarming? Luigis is not laughing and crying because he is happy to see mario. He's doing it because mario has made an ass of himself with his head stuck in the grate, causing luigi to laugh and cry tears of happiness. It's meant to be symbolic considering luigi has been scared shitless all night, and now he gets to laugh at something for once.
I never played the game but I had a promotional magazine for it and it had shots of this battle. That shit alone was terrifying. My ass would NOT beat this game.
I like the final boss of this, but people keep on saying Luigi is sucked in (which is part of the game) and sent to the underworld. But that's just ridiculous, I doubt it's the underworld.

I'll never get how Luigi has Mario's glove, shoe, and hat with him, but in the painting Mario has all of them (at least I think he has his shoe on)
Mario is probably wearing spares
He probably brought a change of clothes, he probably thought it was a normal mansion
This is supported by the fact that the hat is in the washing machine, he probably tried to give it a wash.
