They perform really similar. But when I tested both, I just prefer the TSI. It feels much more alive, more grunty, angry, you give it beans and it just revs and revs and revs, but TDI hates high RPM. No benefit from dragging the engine above 4k rpm. It just seems boring compared to the TSI. I was honestly surprised that petrol engine has 0,5 liter disadvantage and it performs actually better. Love that little engine.
@@MannmitHut-p4o engine reactivity is different, gasoline engines goes high rpm for having max hp and max torque. Diesel can get maximum between 3000 rpm. So yes same hp but different range of rpm and reactivity of the engine. Even if the TDI weighs 100 kg less, the gasoline still wins for the high rpm efficiency. Diesel is not made for race, if you want a good diesel remove egr and dpf and it will literally destroy that tsi
Not much in it really, apart from fuel economy which will be much better in the TDI. I had a 2016 TDI Golf and it would often do 62- 65 mpg and that was when I did use its performance potential. I seriously doubt if the TSI would do 50 mpg.
@@Deki757 The diesel engine is more traction. It has much more torque. If you compare a 150 hp gasoline engine and a 150 hp diesel engine, then the diesel will have much more torque. Therefore, diesel loses to gasoline

@@gladarider5703 new TDI engines suck in consumption and reactivity. And about high rpm it's just all diesel engines that are like that
Natürlich funktionieren beide ähnlich bis identisch, denn 150 PS bleiben 150 PS. Noob.😂

That's a very slow 2.0tdi is it the 110hp version?
No, but it is 5 years older than the TSI...
I always put the links of the acceleration clips in the video description, you can have a look 😅
lol is not gtd mate its just 150hp tdi, what u waiting to be a rocket.
Very good. Difference was not bad. Its a diesel, will drive twice as far 😉 Stage 2 it and we done.
Yeah I mean till 170 kph they are quite the same but then higher speeds are where the petrol mostly wins
I have a 2.0 tdi stage 1 185 hp and it runs better when the esc is turned off.

Come fai a paragonare un benzina a un diesel !!! è come bere acqua o birra
Same HP, similar price...
Shame on 2.0 tdi, losing to a smaller engine with less torque

@NikitGrand0206 speak english
Remove FAP, EGR and Adblue and 2.0 Tdi will eat that 1.5. FAP and EGR are the cancers of diesel engines

Its about weight😊 100 kg tdi heavier
if the diesel turned off the esc it would win
To 100 yeah
