  • In less than a decade, from An Education to Wildlife, Carey Mulligan has become an actress who can be counted on taking audiences farther into a character than they expect to be taken. She took a moment to chat with David Poland about her latest film, Wildlife.

Our mics didn't work... so she sounds okay, but I, behind the camera, is a mess. Apologies. But she is the voice that matters.

I am excited about Carey's upcoming project "Promising Young Woman" , a thriller that was written by and will be directed by Emerald Fennell . I had the pleasure of meeting Carey at the Chicago Premiere and she seemed disappointed that two other films that she is attached to have not gained traction yet. Independent films tend to fall apart sometimes . She is a lovely , talented woman who deserves more film work.

Was your mic inside a fishtank ? Or were you both inside the fishtank with it?

Thank you for the video. I appreciated the character she played in the movie Drive.
If possible I recommend editing the audio so that it is more clear and there's less background noise. It was difficult to hear the questions you're asking and there was some kind of mechanical noise in the background. I don't mean to be skeptical these are just some things that I observed.

It has been edited as best it can. The recorder didn't work right, so this is the camera sound. Unfortunate.

I totally agree with the interviewer that Carey's had an impressive filmography in that the roles have always been age appropriate for her. One thing that bothered me about Jennifer Lawrence's early success was that she was being lauded for roles in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, but those are roles that absolutely should have been played by somebody ten years (or more) her senior. Her energy and characterization etc. was good but it felt like she was a student at drama school playing dress-up and trying to prove her range.

don't really get why people would want to watch this in 4K ... it's not a Christopher Nolan movie or BBC wildlife documentary .. it's an interview. I think 4K is a bit excessive in this context
