Edit: ok so they did bring these characters back when Zoe Kravitz hosted but there was so much potential here so I'm still bitter they only appeared in 2 sketches, especially now Kate and Aidy have left the show there's very little chance we'll see these guys show up again 😔

Kate and Aidy make a great pair. I also like Kate doing a more subtle character, it's funnier than some of her over the top stuff

@@Tweetyresm technically, yes. They’re ageless in the sense that their cells duplicate faster than they die, so its constantly just cycling through. However, it is still a jellyfish, so it’s incredibly brain dead and susceptible to anything that could hurt it😂

Kate McKinnon is brilliant at every role. Sometimes the roles aren't great, but she's still brilliant. Even at playing herself. Weknowdis.
Who? Kate? She had a recurring character on The Big Gay Sketch Show who was a boy (Fitzwilliam) and she's been playing men and boys since she got here on SNL.
Looks like she has a better time playing a girl that is a tomboy tbh. You only see these types of people in movies

Btw: Many, _MANY_ years ago, I volunteered at a reptile rescue & rehabilitation charity here in the UK, at the height of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles craze. [Incidentally, it was renamed Teenage Mutant *HERO* Turtles in Britain, 🐢 because this country was apparently terrified that the youth of our nation would be irreversibly corrupted by the word 'Ninja', inevitably leading kids to violently assault members of the public in stealthy, pizza-fuelled random Ninja-related attacks 🍕🥷🏻, armed with illegally obtained nunchucks, & even throwing stars!😳🤦🏻♀️]
So we were absolutely *INUNDATED* with masses of surrendered Red-eared terrapins (or Red eared sliders, for US viewers?) for _years,_ once people realised just how specialised, difficult, fast-growing & expensive it was to correctly provide them with a suitable environment...but we had lizards, skinks & snakes of numerous species - &, _of course,_ *GECKOS!!!* - as well!🦎🥰🙂
@@lornaginetteharrison7168 that is so completely awesome!!! I absolutely love reptiles. I'm not afraid of snakes (but of course wouldn't make friends with the poisonous ones). I find them truly fascinating. I've had two baby bearded dragons before but ended up giving them away to a good home because I had a difficult time transporting the crickets to feed them. Reptiles fascinate me....but insects I LOATHE. Yuck. Except bees which are amazing.

Well, as the old saying goes, "If you love someone, whisper an interesting jellyfish fact in their ear. If they reply, "Wow, that's so cool, thanks for telling me", they're yours to keep, if they get up, and abruptly leave, it was never meant to be. In other words, looks like you dodged a bullet there my friend, because life's too damn short not to spend it with someone who appreciates cool jellyfish facts.

I loved the writing in this skit. From the gecko habitat to the hand magnetism. Lovely stuff. It actually treated each character with respect and they stated consistent throughout. The actors were wonderful and cared about their roles and it was clear they got the subtle humor. One of the better SNL works I've seen.
The sheer amount of sapphic self-awareness is what will immortalise this sketch for me
