Whenever there’s a Alan Ross upload, your day just gets so much better 😊 This should be a fun video though Alan. A more balanced sound or warm deep bass??? Hmmm….. It’s hard for me to choose right now.
@@alanrossreviews Couldn’t have learned from a better teacher. And continue to learn til this day 🙌🏽 So fun to watch these videos when you know what’s going on about audio, and what to look and listen for.
for sure, its not just about what i think with my ears, taking measurements gives a better understanding if indeed you took the time like yourself to learn what they mean 👍
Love from India Good comparison always I bought anker soundcore motion plus after watching your videos and oluv's videos. You make videos up to viewers satisfaction
Both of these speakers are legends in their own right and now compared by the living legend of the bluetooth speaker world. Thanks for another outstanding review, Alan! 😁👍👏
Alan Ross Reviews Top Picks: Pound for pound world champion: Soundcore Motion Boom: geni.us/motionboom Amazingly deep bass to 40hz for its size and price. Budget Loud Boombox: no clear winner but my pick for fun outside listen would be: W-King X10 geni.us/wkingx10 Travel Speakers: Marshall Stockwell 2: geni.us/stockwell2 offers a decent immersive sound with full and tight bass. Beware though it does go very loud JBL Charge 5: geni.us/jblcharge5 Only mono but has a very clear and dynamic sound at low volumes and can go reasonably loud but will become a little screechy over 80%.
@@alanrossreviews Having a Onyx Studio doesn't mean you can't have other speakers that are balanced 😝 Balance is key to a good sound, but for bass performance, Onyx is better for me 👍
@@alanrossreviews Ah yes. It's made for home use, which is completely dumb because if you leave your audio stuff at home, you're more likely to use wired than Bluetooth... If only HK would put a battery that correspond to the outdoor tuning of the Onyx Studio line, it would definitely be great !
Well... that's what i also aid a while back, but the sub bass is ONLY bass you get on the onyx 6, sure it's monstrously deep but whenever you get mid bass or high bass it doesn't perform at all! even my PL5 has way more high bass than the onyx
Hey Alan, great channel. So, I’ve bought an Onyx Studio 6 for £220 AND a Citation 200 for £255…! I’ll have to send one back, have you tried the Citation?? Reading lots in the comments on your videos and other similar reviewers about the Citation being better than the OS6!! I did buy the Soundcore Motion Boom from Amazon for £62 as per your recommendations, for the money it’s fantastic but lacked clarity and the floor rumbling boom boom!!
Studio 6 is brilliant. Love your reviews as always Alan. Do you think you could review smart speakers? Recent ones like Echo 4th gen, Nest audio have decent sound but I'm curious to know how they would compare against these portable heavyweights.
Well I'm glad you firmly pressed Harman about actually needing to take the time to create a proper Bluetooth speaker well even tho I've rant about them but on the Studio 8 needs a bigger battery, actually charge by USB type C,have full power without plugging it in,IP67,JBL or Harman Partyboost and refined sound btw idk why in the world I thought you had 2x of each speaker 😭
@@alanrossreviews It really is a shame they refuse to increase the size of that battery. It has a good sound but what's the point of a portable bt speaker that won't last?
Hey I find a wird thing on my jbl extrem 2. If i connect my to it and I play music i can heard a noise. Even if put the volume to 0 I hear it. But if I pose the music it stops after about 10 second. Is it a default, is it on other jbl ?
@Alan Ross Reviews Thnx for your reply mate...I wanted to buy motion boom after binge watching your reviews past 2 days 😁but its not available in india😑... importing it, is costing 200$ approx..😣 So stuck at what to buy for good quality portable bass speakers
You should definitely give a try listening to boat stone 1500 it matches with quality of motion plus at same price with heavy bass😃😃 but is bigger in size so not easily portable 😕
I have 2 HK studio 5,s.Love pairing them together.Love your comparison of these two. When i close my eyes it"s very close and almost hard th tell which is playing.👍
Great comparison The JBL sound goes for upper bass and for the onyx studio 6 i feel like its move on clarity at vocals and lows @ bass but left behind in overall sound against JBL . 😎
I do not understand why you complain, on one side you say "they dont change it" on the other hand you say the "older one sounds better". So if they change it you dont like it and if they dont change it, you like it but complaint about that they did not change it?!? I never liked the design of the Studi 6 and the older ones seems tohave some issues with the feed breaking off, so the Studio 7 is a good improvement.
They added a second tweeter but stuck a handle in front of the tweeters. They didnt upgrade a single thing of already old tech and left yet again a battery snaller than cheap chinese no brands use in speakers a quarter of the size. They even removed the ip rating. The onyx 6 has a tad more bass. If you call the onyx 7 an improvement then awesome for you but allow me to have an opinion why dontcha 😱

love the wide open stereo seperation on the go+play...& the deep bass of the st6

I will ALWAYS choose deep bass over mid and upper bass, so for me Onyx Studio 6 is better for bass !
but sometimes balance also counts 😁

somehow giving customers what they actually want is not the harman kardon way 😣
what is Studio 8?!?!? Is it out already?
Naw xd just my wishlist for it lol the JBL Flip 6 comes out within 2 months 😁
and maybe reatin that style of a bag thats nicer than the onyx 7 like a Saturn planet big af😂
Hey Alan! Nice review! I totally fell in love with the studio 6. I am just unsure about the battery life. Can the speaker be used while charging?
yes you can play with mains lead connected/charging 👍👍
Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 6 bottoms out a lot.
It has the same problem as JBL Boombox 1 PL model.
It can break in the long run.
ill take both balance for go &play, some deep bass on the onyx 6..i have the onyx 5 and a M boom im very satisfied 😊
yup you are covered 🤗
"We can make it look a bit prettier if we put a handle around and it looks like a planet, instead of a hand bag" Hahahahahahaahhaha
I gotta say it like it is 😜
@@alanrossreviews It really is a shame they refuse to increase the size of that battery. It has a good sound but what's the point of a portable bt speaker that won't last?
hum, its one of lifes great mysteries! they simply do not want you to use this mobile, maybe they want the onyx for home use and go play for travels?
Can you review the Sony XG500
I read rumours, that HK is going to release a new go and play at CES january of 2022. I hope its correct :)
You heard that from me😉
good! now i can compare it to the old version 😜

Yes sirr Alan🏆
yo! 😁😁
I’m very impressed with harmen karden bass.
yup! they know how to milk the bass!
Their low end goes impressively deep but doesn’t feel controlled, maybe due to long throw woofers?
The studio 6 is my big friend for its bass😁 but to be honest, i would be more than happy with both...
yup! on the money again! 😁😁
I have both the HK go+play and the Onyx studio 5, and I haven't sold them yet, so they must be good 🙂
cant say more than that 👍
Overall, both are great...Hard to choose...
for long term listen i would go go+ play 🤗

😁😁
Hey mate should I buy motion plus at 65$ or max sound plus at 45$ if I like good quality sound along with bass
for bass go motion boom, motion plus beats the maxsound plus

yup for deep bass there is nothing to match without paying double the price, well uk/usa price anyway.
hum, im not convinced of that 😝
Ok, to say a Mess and Wacky, I suspect would be a compliment; there's really a lot going on here, cacophony and kaleidoscope of stuff... everywhere.
pretty much sums up your comment! 👍
make Harman Kardon Citation 200 revew is nr 1 under 500 $ it piss on bombox and onyx 7 and all
Can you do the UE Hyperboom? love how it sounds in a corner my friend has it
