А в этом ua-cam.com/video/ZB3Q1d1x4H8/v-deo.html наоборот? Так где больше нижних басов в 7 или 8?
@@videokropka 8 могут воспроизводить более глубокие басы при питании от батареи, но это близко к этому, и многое будет зависеть от того, как вы прикрепите их к своим ушам.

This is the ONE video that needed to be done but never thought anyone had the courage to do it 😮 Thanks, Alan 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
or the wallet 😆
Exactly what we need! You're the best Alan!
thank you 😎😎😎
Dude you're an absolute legend for this video! My parents bought the 3 years ago and it's been my absolute favorite wireless speaker I've ever heard and knew I wanted to get my own. Once I found out there were 7 other models I was completely overwhelmed with indecision. This video clarified everything for me. Thank you for this video! Peace and love brother
Thanks for watching 😊 👍
Which one you think is the best?
Alot of time and effort went into this!
Currently testing a 7th gen after hearing the 1st gen in 2014 and I’ve been curious ever since!
✅🍿
Thanks for watching, i was curious as well 😁
Nice one Alan, knocked it out of the park yet again. I've only ever owned the 5 and it proved to be a bit too much for my small apartment, the deep bass resonance was overwhelming, so it got returned. I loved the smoothnes of its sound however in a larger room, a very fun listen 👌
you might like the 6 which is almost like the 5 but with a tad more clarity and tad less resonance in the bass
I returned the 5 also as it was to much bassheavy for me.
@@petervdveenmuis what did you end up with?
@@alanrossreviews The 8.
Listening to this recording in studio 8. Sound recording is amazing.
The ultimate onyx video I didn’t knew I needed. Was having second thoughts buying an Onyx 8 having an onyx 4; now I’ll enjoy both.
they all offer something different ✔
@@alanrossreviews is it possible to pair an onyx 8 with an onyx 4? I can’t seem to find a way. Thanks
@@Juano182 i doubt it unless you mean samsung dual audio
Excellent review! 10/10
Cheers 👍
I just bought my second onyx 4... I love the sound that comes from these speakers.
its been a great series only hobbled by the silly battery they sue to protect jbl sales. The O4 was the standout as being able to connect to other JBL speakers and having its own app 👍 for me i love the 5 for its deep warm bass. warmest of them all.
The 4 is my favorite as well. I've had one for about 6 years now and it's still kicking.
@@alanrossreviews what’s the brightest of them all
Alan Ross: the audio authority.
Thank you very much for this hard (and expensive $$) work.
I had no reference when I purchased version 7 a few months ago, but the value was unmissable: $128 in direct conversion, which for the country where I live, is an excellent price.
As I use it in aux mode, I made the appropriate equalization adjustments.
It really is another world for those who came from mid-range Chinese boxes, without underestimating the great Anker and Tronsmart.
Greetings from Brazil.
for sure, its a serious speaker 👍

I still have my Onyx 3 from Sprint, too. It still sounds great, but the battery doesn't recharge anymore; it has to be plugged in during use now.

I'm still loving my pair of Onyx Studio 6 speakers. 🙂 One thing that has stayed consistent is a pitiful battery regardless of which model you choose, though. 😥 Outstanding comparison between the generations, Alan! 😁👍👏
have you thought about the battery upgrade?
I might consider doing a mod once the current batteries are pretty much toast (as poor as they are at least everything functions normally) but I don't want to risk it until that point.
👍
Missed your videos buddy!

I'm watching this on my Studio 4 lol
Definitely appreciate your reviews Alan! I've heard firmware 2.11 for the Mifa Wildbox is much better than previous, would be awesome to see you check it out and see if you still prefer the Motion Boom. As a huge basshead who likes V/exciting signatures I've been really debating which one to go for and I really like that the Wildbox has aux in.
thats the [problem how can i review a speaker when we dont know what firmware the buyer will actually get 😆
@@alanrossreviews Yeah very true lol, most you can do is show the performance of firmware versions vs each other. Though seeing you do that with some speakers has been really helpful.
@@BarryMcBangerz i can understand some tweaking but the likes of mifa often completely change the sound, sometimes for better sometimes not
Thank you for this video. I had the onyx studio 1 and after the legs broke I decided to upgrade to the onyx studio 6. This video validated my choice to upgrade from gen 1 (upgraded with 4 additional 18650 cells) to gen 6. I also do not agree with the design of the 7 & 8. I can’t imagine packing it in my luggage or backpack.
its weird how they have been all over the place with the design of this speaker. at least the 8 sounds nice but the 7 sounded off to me.
Well you officially reviewed all onyx studios👏. The Studio 5 for me was my first proper deep bass speaker coming from the Xtreme 2 which I still have today. About two years ago is when my studio 5 got melted on the fireplace do to mom putting it there since thats where I listen to my speakers in my den when its off. I always did miss my studio 5 until I purchased the Studio 6. But once I got the studio 7 I really didn't use the Studio 5 that much since the bass was pretty dirty at higher volumes. And than the same thing happened to the studio 7 when I got the 6. So the main Harman Kardon speakers I use is my Studio 6 and citation 200. But as a at home speaker the citation 200 makes a lot more sense it's just more convenient. It comes with Google Assistant, wifi and I could always add citation speakers to create a 5.1 surround sound setup but the other ones are very hard to find and very expensive. And another fun fact we first start communicating when I drop my Studio 7 versus 5 video😅
your mum (mom) put your speaker in the fireplace????? was you short on wood or something?? 😆😆 if you liked the 7 im surprised you never tried the 8? are you telling me to try the citation? 😁😁
@@alanrossreviews we have a indoor fireplace and she sat it on top of the mantel which is cold 99% of the time but when there is a fire inside the outside gets really hot and she naively left it there😖 I like the seven for a while until I got the 6 and my citation 200 I like to use around the house lol that what is the speaker I was playing off of while listening to this review. But I would get it honestly the charging makes a lot more sense since the battery still sucks in general but it comes with a charging dock so as long as you put it back it's always charge and you can use the USB type-c port to charge it as well but it won't activate AC mode
i bet she wont do that again 😊
Ive got a 5. The bass is quite something. I use it outdoors once a week and its great. As for the battery, its never run out on me. 5 hours at around half volume and no sign of it dying so thats enough for me. Thanks for the video Alan, great stuff 👍
yup wasnt expecting the 5 to be my preference over the 6 👋
mine is empty after 3 hours of full volume music
@@P0Lak2012 3hrs at max is very good going. the battery in these speakers is the size you normally get in compact travel speakers. its pathetic.
Nice One Alan👈👈✨✨
thank you 😁
@@alanrossreviews ✨✨✌✌👈👈
I say the Onyx Studio 6 went off the deep end with the bass they just jumped off the cliff with the bass response and that's the reason why I love this speaker
But the 5 is actually more bass heavy
@@alanrossreviews Hmmmm.....🤔🤔🤔🤔
Hey Alan, how about a speakers tiers list video?
i already have a list in description of each video
Woah wasn’t expecting you to compare whole Studio Series. This is why you’re the best in the business Alan 😎😎😎.
And I always personally thought the 5 was the best of the studio series (not by much of course) Glad to see this video confirmed it 🔥
yeah i was a bit surprised as 6 was always a great listen for me. but the way they have changed the setup with drivers and the sculpted bass was interesting. aiming for deeper bass as they moved up in numbers but at the cost of upper bass and messing with mids. but never thinking a bigger battery would be handy 🤣
The tables at the bottom showing the latency saved me wasting money on 5 & 6. Seeing the 50ms for my 4 via aux is a relief
just remember this is my result on my devices, your result may vary.
Hi Alan👋, nice test! 🎉🎉 It looks like a full time job! Would you like to test the Boombox 3 WiFi (also has bluetooth) and compare it with another random speaker (such as the Boombox 3 😉)? Thanks in advance 👍
i dont fancy paying £500 for a speaker i already own just to get wifi and some marketing bullshit like atmos 🤣
@@alanrossreviews No no Mr. Ross, you don't know what you're missing: This is undoubtedly the superlative of the undefeated Boombox 3! 🤪 And that for only a few hundred pounds 😌 Aaand don't forget, we (from JBL) "would like you to be happy with your product - so we offer a 30 day evaluation period during which you can return your product" 🥳🥳
@@harrymeme4637 still not excited 🤣
I have the Studio 4 and I still think it sounds better than all of them. I was considering buying another Harman Kardon and I'm going to have to go with another Studio 4.
they all offer something different. with the 4 you get an app and connection to other jbl speakers.
Exactly 🎉🎉
im still so impressed by my studio 1
the whole series still holds up 👍
Hey Alan, I just found out that there is another version of the onyx, called "onyx BT", or "onyx wireless" which came out back in 2013 with the Uranus design. Could you try find it and give it a review too? 🤔🤔
if it ever pops up on ebay.......
How long does the onyx 7 battery last max volume

Wow!8 speaker links together!!!!
not together 😂
Just imagine if can links together that's wow
or just get a pair of boombox 3's 😂
I had the onyx 5 and two of the 6. The bass is so joyfull, but I missed somehow the clearness / loudness in voices. Partybox 310 (my reference BT Speaker) managed this better, Bass and Voices. But is a liiiittle larger and more expensive, maybe not comparable 😅
right not really a fair comparison. All these speakers have trade-offs as the sound is very sculpted to bring out the bass.
Ive had my onyx studio for around 10 years now, it has really served me well. Today I wanted to replace it so I went ahead and bought an Ultimate Ears Hyperboom. I am going to return the Hyperboom, cause I dont think it is better than the onyx studio. Sure, it is slightly louder with more bass but thats about it. I think the sound quality of the onyx studio 1 is better than the UE Hyperboom. Which is kinda crazy.
Yup it is indeed crazy, i never got the hyperboom, from everything i heard its just an upper bass machine.
I purchased the 8. Good balance.
5, 6 and 8 would be my picks 😁
I have the 8 best for me 💥
Can you please do a battle between the studio 7 and the motion x600?
the 7 would destroy it for bass
I have an onyx 7 and an onyx 8, how can I connect them to stereo?
Really looks like the 6 has the most neutral response, besides the bass boost of course. That slight bump at the 7-8khz region might bode well for off axis listening and it doesnt have that 4-5khz dip seen on the 5. I always yearned for a little more highs when I owned the 5s. The 6 is the nearest to textbook which is impressive. I might get one solely for outdoors since it is so cheap now, and its water resistant.
The 6 is probably the sweet spot but I jump between the 5 and 6

Hey Alan I’m currently using the motion plus and I was looking for a speaker with some better bass, but I’m in an apartment, so are there any speakers you think could get me some more power while also playing well at the lower levels (15-25% on IOS volume bar)?
Motion boom for bass on a budget. Marshal middleton for bass at low volume.
@@alanrossreviews I was thinking along the lines of the boom as well. I also asked about the Stormbox blast turned down and everyone I’ve asked including Tribit themselves said it would work in an apartment but, I’m skeptical. What do you think? (And thank you for answering of course)
@@OldManD222 the blast wouldnt be so good at low volume, bigger drivers move more air. the middleton is nice below 50% but boom simply great value

mr Ross did u try already the Sony srs xv900???'?'

@alanrossreviews would you say it’s worth paying $50 more for a studio 5 ($$200) vs a studio 7 ($$150)? Or are they relatively comparable. I see you saying the 5 is better bass so how much better??
they sound quite different, o5 warm sounding, 07 quite sterile no character
Ok so I guess I’ll ask this, if I have 150-200$ to spend on audio for my shop, would you say go with an onyx studio and eventually get another one, or would you say I’d be better off with a traditional sound at w/ woofer combo…. I do have neighbors at my shop so I can’t really play at max volume atleast until after business hours… also I do like music w heavy bass…. I really don’t NEED it to be portable, just curious what your optimism would be
@@alanrossreviewswhich is better onyx 6 or 8? Pls reply me😢
@@josefranciscopanuera5395 6 for deeper bass
I have the 4 and 5. I prefer the 4 for my bedroom as the 4 (plugged in) is always on. That’s important to me because my work Desk is 10 feet from the Onyx 4 so I don’t need to turn it on when I want to use it with my PC or IPad. The Onyx 5, on the other hand, turns off after a few hours of idle when it’s plugged in.
For travel and outdoor use the 5 is best because of the handbag design
For indoor use in small rooms the 4 is best for me because the bass in the 5 is overwhelming and less clear on vocals
none of them are duds, they all offer something different, well apart from the 7 i guess 🤔🤔
Your are right 👍
Me too..exactly same conclusion. The 4 is a perfect bedroom speaker. I sold my 5 when I got 2 tribit stormblasts The 4 is so clean Ty for vid Alan that was some work
I’m having a hard time deciding to gift my studio 6 to a friend and get a studio 8 open box on eBay for $130 USD…. Or I can get a brand new studio 6 for $100 USD. I find my studio 6 to be very bass heavy (impressive for the size) and the mono aspect wasn’t a huge issue but noticeable on some tracks. I never travel with it or take it outside. Considering the similar price, what do you think is the better purchase? Studio 6 or 8?
o8 would suit better but they are all bass heavy
