  • A model showcase video for this vintage 1990's ESCI M60A1 MBT. The model was built mostly out of the box but I did change out the tracks and make other mods to the model. In this video I give the model a thorough in box review and I go over many of the mods and upgrades that went into the model bringing it up to the condition you see in this video.

Great to see a new video of your drop! I have a Leopard 2 from that same company I picked up in the early 90’s when in France. Someday I’ll get around to building it… don’t want to rush these things you know…

The "access cap" on the torsion bar mounts, is actually where the end of the opposite torsion bar would be located and secured. AT least this kit hull has them, though they are undersized and a bit out of location. I have found the AFV club M60A2 and Dragon M60 'slick' to have them properly sized and located. *Former gunner M60A2 74-78

🤣🤣🤣I just love your "TTT" (tank track tantrum) 💗💓💕
But you've got to take it down a notch, or one unsuspecting day it will give you a heart attack

you don't have to worry about a coronary on my indie link tirades, it's pure pleasure for me and I'm as calm as can be when I take a dump on those tracks.

Great build and a very entertaining commentary! Thanks again, John. One question though: are there any more OTRs coming? I could use a little help with my 40 year old Panzerkampfwage II, the Sturmgeschütz III, the M3 Lee, the M3 Stuart, and the M4A3 Sherman. Maybe you have one of those already in the pipeline?

I do have several OTRs done and are on the schedule for editing. Because of their nature they take longer to edit then the standard model showcase and project update videos, however they will have their premiere. P.S. Some are the same vehicle types you requested ;)

Link and length tracks (and tons of fitting issues) are also the reason I trashed my DRAGON M1A1 kit. Link and length tracks are cancer.

Hi John! Your comment about Esci not having 1/35 WWII kits is not necessarily accurate: they had lots of figure kits of which I built a bunch of in the 80's. And I have two unbuilt ones still in my stash!
(This is maybe a premature comment of mine since I'm only less than 8 minutes into the video, so please forgive me if I somehow didnn't get you right🙂)

I should have been more specific, I was referring to 1/35th scale WWII tank kits specifically. ESCI never made WWII tank kits in 1/35. 1/72, yes but in 1/35 they focused on modern era vehicles
