Many people don't get how advanced Medieval Latin-Germanic Europe always was. Too much black legend and post-Roman catastrophism. Thanks for showing the inherent superiority of the Western system since its foundation
I share your perplexity at people thinking (very recent phenomenon and we can understand the sad reasons) that there could be anything competitive about Medieval Eastern Christianity: it regularly lagged behind and was itself completely overwhelmed by/depending on Frankish-Latin Europe exactly at this point. Your videos explaining in-depth Byzantine society or other more specific such as the one sabout the Ruthenian Western weaponry imports as well as the comparative level of population density, urbanism, communication, etc. between Western and Eastern Europe are really enlightening. And people don't even click back to search for your massive doctoral work already uploaded on it. The other thing it impresses me is that there can be someone allegedly being "passionate" about Medieval Western European history and thinking it merely as "feudalism" while completely neglecting the sheer enormity of the Communal civilization alone. Without mentioning the generalized ignorance about the gigantic cultural output of the city of Rome during the Middle Ages. We live in a world of severely under-schooled people
