Keep up the good work with posting these succes stories. It Really helps me. Especially as I was in a flare up when you posted this one. Sometimes I still find it hard to believe my brain is really so strong to give me such weird sensations in my body.
I've been a fan of dr. Sarno for many years and I've been following your channel as well as others dealing with TMS. But I have to say that I am still surprised at what symptoms can be psychosomatic! WOW! Another great success story thank you❤
Robert, did you do any Somatic Tracking in your recovery journey? What's your take on Alan Gordon and Howard Schubiner's method that relies on this particular mindfulness technique?
Rob here. Sorry for late reply, it's a good question. I didn't do any somatic tracking at all and I am not an expert on that, but it's a proven technique with scientific evidence and a lot of amazing success stories behind it. I would say it's a matter of what works for you (the individual in question). Dr. Schubiner also recommends journalling and ISTDP, which were very useful to me (I didn't see a therapist but a lot of my emotional expression was based on ISTDP). I see methods, where they are necessary, as being built on the foundation of information. I had to fully understand the mindbody link to get maximum benefit out of my journalling, for instance. Also, Sarno observed that sometimes the info and resuming normal activities were enough on their own.
I get but yet don't get it. I've had digestive issues since 9 yrs old and it's so much worse. Sometimes it just comes on for no reason. Maybe I will try journaling idk
Great interview. I loved the point about belief being the common denominator. It’s so true. I’ve just recently started strengthening my belief in TMS with the help of Jim and my quality of life has improved greatly with my hope of getting better.
Jim does the mind keep a memory of symptoms with TMS that you had 6 years earlier( after abdominal surgery) can then suddenly reappear which seems to have happened with me this year??. Low back & coccyx pain, severe weight loss, groin pain & severe anxiety?
Yes, absolutely everything is stored in the brain and if something has been traumatic are very stressed so it can be kicked up again with anything that has a resemblance to it now
i got bursitis from tetanis inj that was administered too high up on arm. It started hurting more and making awful clicking popping and grinding sounds in shoulder bursa area with any arm movement just hours after. Four months later, its still the same, pain and those crunching sounds. Scans read bursitis. I've read this can be permanent and even get worse into frozen shoulder and losing complete mobility of arm. I'm terrified and this has ruined the quality of my life not to mention fear and anxiety all night and day. please help...
You need to stop the fear and anxiety. Just stop caring about the pain and live your life as best as you can. And you need to keep reinforcing the belief there is nothing wrong with you and the brain is creating the symptoms. You will get so much better this helped me a lot
Just happened to be halfway through Robert’s book when I ran across this interview.! Found the pain PT when going through Rebecca Tolin’s course. So helpful! Still trying to figure out how to apply all of this info to MECFS. Exhaustion/depletion and PEM seems “different” than pain, wish more would write or talk about how Sarno’s work relates to this. Thanks for bringing to this interview a spiritual component and additional insight.
Rob here. Thanks for your comment. My two cents as someone who healed chronic fatigue, pain and a whole raft of other symptoms: The physiological pathways and manifestations may have differed but the underlying unconscious causes and solution (information and methods) were the same regardless of the symptom. For me, anyway, reading Sarno and journalling worked on the fatigue, the pain - all of it.
I was great absolutely nothing for over a week , what I convinced myself any pain wasn’t going too hurt me , but I started feeling it come on for three days building up , on then on the 12 th after 6 in the evening it started too ease , the 12 th three yrs ago when my mother passed away I tried too safe and couldn’t , 6 o clock esh is when she passed , on the 11 th in bed the night before I had a Terrible nightmare I was terrible I felt bloody awful , my pain is very mild now , I know it’s on it’s way out many thanks Jim and your guest glad for him
But this Method is the opposite from "Feel it to heal it" which you have explaned in another Videos. I thought you should also feel the physical Pain not only the Emotions
I am a chronic pain sufferer and I listen to a lot of your content Jim. I want to thank Robert, not only for his story but for giving the credit to Christ! So many people are afraid of offending someone. This gentleman made a promise to God and is keeping it by spreading God's wonderful work in his life. He's not afraid it will hurt his book sales or that people won't turn to him for coaching. The was a comment made that "the universe is powerful" but let's please give credit to Christ the way Robert was doing. Let him praise THE Jesus Christ himself and not turn it around to be the universe. I love your work Jim and I will continue to listen. I just felt the overwhelming need to stand up for my God and Savior. Thank you for all the hard work you do! Keep it up!
Love this and love that you are now a believer in Christ and are spreading the good news.
yes great, ordered the book
Keep spreading the good news of what Christ has done for you!
I listened to this nodding at everything! Symptoms bullying, fear people pleasing. Thank you excellent video. All the best to you Robert x

@@spiritmindbody... Thanks and warm regards.
Thank you for this video !!!!
Thanks for this interview. So worth the listening.
Agree cutting food types out creates more fear! Something we want to avoid with TMS

I agree we need more practitioners in this field!
I like the Ambush idea… might use it in my recovery. Great interview!

Wonderful interview. Have😢vGI issues. Don't know the emotional part of it yet
Great story and very true. What you believe happens but we need to investigate what we believe, then we have a choice.
This is very helpful. Do you see a lot of success with people with migraines ?
