unrelated but your voice and the way you pronounce words is so calming also thank you for having such a clear video on the minolta! i bought the exact one recently and it's my first analog.
Is it possible to set only one ring on specific value and the second on auto? for example I want to shoot at f=8 but shutter speed ring on A so camera can set shutter speed automatically and according to aperture I set. Or is it only full manual or full auto?
This is a super helpful video!! Thank you! I just found this camera in some old stuff and cleans it, and changed the battery. But the shutter won’t open:( do you have any tips on how to fix it?
There's UA-cam tutorials for taking this model apart and using lighter fluid to dissolve the oils which keep the shutter stuck. It's pretty easy I just did it last night, at first I feared it made it worse but I think I just used too much fluid, and it started dissolving oils within the mechanism, more than I intended, and once the lighter fluid evaporated the shutter worked perfectly. Remember to use compressed air to clean it out too because I noticed after the cotton swab had left some fibers near the lense
Thanks for the video. I'm about to grab one of this. Since there is an A setting for both aperture and shutter speed, does that mean that the camera offers aperture and/or shutter speed priority or it's only full auto and manual?
Japan Vintage Camera Do you happen to know if this goes for the “7”model as well? I wish all camera video’s are as informative, short and to the point as yours. Keep it up!
It's interesting that the user manual mentions nothing about shutter/aperture priority as an option. Just full manual and full auto. I've read that it defaults to a specific shutter speed when in "aperture priority" and to a specific aperture when in "shutter priority" and that it's not an actual option. It's just that the camera controls make it look like it's supported.
There’s a video on UA-cam showing how to take the camera apart & use Naptha or lighter fluid on the shutter leaves. This will dissolve the oils that are making the shutter stick. This usually fixes the issue.
Hello - a question if I may. I have one of these I picked up from ebay, and it looks good, except there seems to be a little "play" in the lens, like the mechanism is a little sloppy, for lack of a better term. Is that normal, or should it be tighter and this camera is defective? Thank you.
One of the best film cameras channel & seller :)... Did you checked your ebay store recently? I sent you a message and still waiting a reply! Thanks and please keep this excellent content.
Those are your film ISO or the speed of your film, for example porta 400 would be ASA 400 or fujicolor 200 would be ASA 200. You set these number so the camera know the amount of light you will need to have a correct exposure
Thank you. Every other overview and review was basically someone cosplaying as a 50s beatnik while filming themselves walking around taking photos and narrating spoken word poetry with too much added bass in the mix.

Just purchased from you! Excited to use a fully functioning version as my previous had a faulty light meter 🍥 it's a beautiful camera.
Thank you very much. I'm excited for mine I'm buying now. I'm enjoying my Minolta SRTs and my X-9 and now a rangefinder too!
Great video! Can you make one "How to clean and adjust the Rangefinder in this camera? Thank you!!
That would be a great video. The minolta in this video looks pretty clean.
I just acquired one and all seems to be working, but the vertical focus is waaay off. Would love to see how to adjust.
This was a really helpful video, thanks!!
What battery can I buy to use it?
A Wein PX625 or an LR/SR644 battery with a PX625 adapter.
To bad it is so huge and heavy for a fixed lens rf. Might as well get the dx11 slr which is smaller and lighter, and have lens choices.
may i know what size is the lens cap?🙏
Thank you! Where do I find 35 mm film? What's the best kind to get?
When I press the shutter after winding it has this spring 'TING' sound after. I don't hear that in your video, is that normal???
Post a video
How do I unlock the aperture ring to set to "A"?
Planning to get one to start film photography. Anything I should check to see if it works before purchase?
have you got yours? i'm in the same situation
@@ainanazira3362 yes. I now have 3 and 1 in the shop. Just want to try film. Might let go of a few.

What is that little metal tab we can see beneath the word "FILM" and above the film spool?
That is the reset lever for the film counter.
@@japanvintagecamera8869 Ah! That's why the back pushes it in when you close the it. Thank you!
What battery can you use since PX625 is no longer produced..
how do you set the iso on this one?
It's on the bottom of the lense
Do you need a battery for the shutter to work? Mine just arrived and shutter and crank doesn't work. Need a battery
Mine worked great with a PX625 adapter and a LR644 or SR644 battery. Or you can use a Wein PX625.

Thanks for your comment, the Minolta 7s could be operated in full manual, shutter priority, and aperture priority modes.

How do you change out the lens on the camera? Mine has a dent. I was going to purchase a new one.
my aperture blade is not moving.... why is that?
Bought one of these, I think the leafs inside the lens are stuck together, is it possible to fix it?
i bought one with the leaf stucked and was pretty cheap to fix

A little play is normal, as the camera is designed to be used in hot and cold environments.

You forgot a part of the lens from downside that says ASA and DIN with some numbers. Can someone explain to me what are those ?

How do you set film speed pls......?
The film speed dial is built into the lens body, on the bottom side.
What size is the lens cap cover?
It's a 55mm screw in, or 57mm slide-on.
My dad got a camera like this when he was in Vietnam and I am trying to use it. What type of film does it take and what battery? Thanks!
This camera uses a PX625 battery, and ordinary 35mm film,
@@japanvintagecamera8869 thank you!
I can't get the "As" to line up for automatic mode. Also, is there a way to take the lens off? Thanks a lot!
no its a viewfinder camera

@@Zetaphotographydid you get it?
Minolta 7s or 7SII, got a preference? Or is it apples and oranges? Thanks.
What’s the difference between the 9 version?
The 9 is shutter priority so not as manual as the 7
I have 1 for sale too
what film does it take?
35 mm
I have owned one of these.. it is amazing
