So I just Picked up a 7s and it seems like the shutter blades are stuck and will follow your video. Only thing is that my film advance lever does not return to position when advancing and I see that yours slaps right back. I searched all over the web but no mention.
I have some haze in my viewfinder and want to disassemble and clean. I'm a watchmaker and have experience with small mechanics, but have never disassembled a camera and am unfamiliar with the pitfalls and do not want to cause damage to a machine that is important to me. Can anyone point me to any guides or technical documentation?

Yes, I think PX625A is probably ok - it can also be called V625U or LR9. There is also the S625PX (it produces 1.55V which is a bit higher than the original mercury PX625 of 1.35V)
I have a problem, i've used the Zippo lighter fluid and it unstuck my blades for 4 or 5 shots, and then it only worked 1/2 and now the blades are stuck again... The times the blades moved correctly the lever was very smooth but each time it didn't i felt a resistance, the lever was harder to push. Do you think the problem is not the blades themselves but located somewhere else ?
You might have to do the cleaning more than once. When the blades starts to move they might also move the oils and dust on the blades. Of course there might be some problems with the shutter mechanism also but I would try cleaning the blades again. Good luck!
Thanks! Just followed along with this and got the blades unstuck from mine too. Gonna try a roll of film with it now.

Ok, sorry to hear about that advance lever issue. Does it advance without returning or does it not advance at all?
