My opinion : paper was easier than last year no doubt, but won't cross the 86 mark for general. I hope so, and can be wrong.

I skipped this attempt, and that was probably the biggest mistake of my life 😭😭😭. Probably the easiest paper in years.
Pichhli baar apne kya cut off bataya tha
Last year it was blundered. And Unfortunately it was my last attempt. But sala ye UPSC life tak saath rehti hain. And this year even without study I scored 100+ in GS. So students please do your study seriously even in your first attempt because when time passes you have nothing in hand than regret which is biggest truth & with it you need to live your rest of the life.
I scored very good marks in mains test paper but never get a chance to write actual mains.
Covid + blundered.
Though I am working professional in IT but most of you don't have such luxury to have job.

@@shaileshkumar1056bilkul nhi. Even before last year, 2022, cut off was 87-88, and even a blind would say that this paper was harder than that. Seasoned guys who cracked prelims before are stuck in 85-95 margin. No.way above 87 at max, and I would say 83 -85.
Bro. I also cleared GS1 (80marks) in 2023 but got 60 in C sat. In 2024 I am clearing C sat easily (90+) as c sat was quite easier this year. I am getting 106 marks as per vision ias anskey key in GS 1. Many of my friend ( almost all) are scoring 90+ in GS1. This year polity and geography was very doable. Let's see but my calculation say there is no chance below 90. My go upto 95@@Akash-tl6rm
@@shaileshkumar1056 that doesn't matter at all. If you surround yourself with an elite circle, that won't be an apt reflection of entire cross section of population writing UPSC. Paper was familiar but it is just an underestimation due to 2023 paper. I scored 84 GS in 2023, and qualified prelims too. In 2022 I scored 92 in GS, compared to those, I would say that 2024 is difficult. Same for most of my friends who cleared pre before, and those who are in the rank list.
But yeah, the paper was more skewed in favour of factual understanding which can make a section top scorers, like you and your friends who are scoring 100+. But that doesn't mean all will, many usual scorers in a more conceptual paper has suffered. So cut off won't be drastically high.
And CSAT too, my score last year was just 66.68, and this year I'm scoring 98. But that also won't be an apt redlection of entire population, but my better preparation (same for you too). For example my friend, who is in the liat scored 90+ in 2022 CSAT, where I scored just 50 as I was grossly unprepared. She said that this CSAT was balanced with 2022 if not harder due to difficult reasoning and English (though personally I don't think so, my own performance bias, ofc).
You are entitled to your opinion, but I doubt that. Let's see what happens.
