A man of many talents! I love the fabricating! I was a welder for almost 15 years, right out of high school. Gave it up to sit behind the wheel of the big rig for the next 25 years, then BOOM, heart attack at 60 and now at 71, I just watch these videos!! Keep up, you are what keeps me going!!
That is an enormous amount of work on the step deck Big Guy. It always seems to be the bloke in the European car that wants everyone to know how important he is. Another excellent video buddy.

What a great job you do bringing these videos. Feeling the welds, locking the load, showing the rotting bridge piers (what could go wrong?), checking the load's safe, avoiding the roadway idiots, and those roadside street vendors - at least they have the decency to try to rob you while you watch and give you something in return. More roaway idiots, but still getting the job done. You and your antique truck are what America used to be about and I hope you never stop.

Your step deck is really starting to look viable. It will have to earn its keep now. At least those street vendors are willing to work for a living.
I've trucked quite a bit but I must admit never paid much attention to the structure of a trailer . Is this an above and beyond build ? Like better than what's out there . Would be nice to hear what the grand plan is from your experience.

Yep, that's northern Jersey My old haunts in the early 80s. I have even been in that yard!
Sadly, most drivers have no idea what the strobes and flags mean. Combine that with the general NJ driver attitude of "everyone should get out of my way" and I can see why truckers don't like driving in this area.
You can truck too . I'm Canadian so I'd rather battle snow in the rockies than all that crazy traffic and staying on the right course . Baltimore is starting to look like Detroit .
That was Jersey City. It's way worse than Baltimore or Detroit.
That central ave you cross over that's the spur industry for NS 62V and 63V. Every railfan in NJ calls it the Vomit train. The US 1-9 south local lane is the P&H Branch which connects the CSAO Lehigh line from Oak Island in Newark travels west through Union Cranford/Clark area, Piscataway area and Manville/Bound Brook area where at Port Reading JCT. CSX Splits down to Phila and NS all the way to Allentown/Bethlehem area. Lots of homeless in the City of Newark I seen it alot when going to Prudential Center or "The Rock" for a NJ Devils hockey game via the NEC Train as seen on 21 known as McCarter Highway until the road bens and you were next the Newark Penn Station which other people in my family told me it's a Ex PRR. I'm Guessing on a whim the Gearwrench vendor driver maybe a fan of you channel. Yeah idiot drivers in NJ don't understand the repsect of truck drivers on a tight road just like my pickup. I don't tow stuff. I use it to see trains and yeah I need a lot of room between the Jersey Barrels and a narrow road and bridge and tunnel. It's a pain for traffic in the Northern part of NJ next the NYC area.
Do you know what it weighed new, vs after you rebuild it? Inquiring minds want to Know…stay safe Steve.
It is JDTCo with the tool truck that has a UA-cam channel. They are the ones who make boots for Milwaukee tools so they last longer.Maybe something for Chris to look into so his tools last longer.

Wow, I haven't been up McCarter Highway in a long long time. Even the westbound leg of 280. Those were some very not nice places back in the day. Driving along 280 they had abandoned housing projects, which seemed like something from a dystopian horror movie to me. They knocked them down in the 1990s, I think

Cabover's often have shorter wheelbases than hood trucks.This is what makes them easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

Speaking of swing bridges one in Brooklen NY "BROKE.: I think thatshow PD recived it so PD called FD with just that info so FDNY sends out a Major incident response come to find out that the bridge wouldn't close all the way due to it being so hot so a PD & FDNY boat start poring water to cool it enough to close. One of those odd things.

Hey we are heading to Wisconsin to deliver a customer's vehicle they purchased at a auction here. That's what we do all the time. Deliver vehicle's customer's buy at the auction in Dallas. We hate it when they get Corvette's Lamborghini's and Ferrari's cause Jesse can't get in them. To drive them he can get in the passenger side (He's 6'5") and is average size built. Had to do this for our Hotshot driver's. They had to quickly fly out to another state due to 2 family members getting runner over by a drunk driver. Both of them are severely injured. Driver was arrested and then later attacked in the holding cell. Jesse told the driver's (Husband and Wife) they will get paid for the load. We will head to the location where they are at after we head to another location and pick up a load.
I never seen so many bridges in all my life.

Over privileged NJ Mercedes driver would have been a unicycle. Apparently he couldn't wait 10 to 15 more seconds nor be aware that a few things were going on at the same time. (construction, that wall that closed the left lane in further, and... hmmm , the big thing in the right lane with flags and strobes all over it)
Looking good as usual Steve. I haven't driven in so long that jersey traffic would give me an anxiety attack. But some good news here. It's all gone!!! No more "C" meds and long Dr. Visits.
