    Hi, is there a way to program a keyboard command + trackball for smooth vertical and/or horizontal scrolling?
    My scroll ring is loose, resulting in coarse, unrefined, scrolling.

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  4 місяці тому

      There is the Wheel aspect of it, but that only adjusts the scrolling itself, but not sure if the ring is that loose if it will be able to help with that as much. Depends where the problem is, in the setting or in the device itself I'd think.

    The kensington app has a posibility to add an option for the two lower buttons pressed simultaneously, the two upper simultaneously, etc. is there any way to do this in steermouse?
    Awesone video btw!

    • @ANAKCreates

      Yes!! In the Steermouse app it’s under the Chords tab, so you can do different combos of buttons together.

    Do the application specific layers change automatically when you switch to that application? If I have to manually change what "profile" it is each time I want to use that app that feels counter intuitive. Stream Deck does this really well

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  2 роки тому

      Yes! Once you set the shortcuts up, it knows which application and such is being used, it’s all automatic and seamless, otherwise yes it would be annoying and basically useless haha

    Excellent information. Thanks! I'm looking around for one solution and not finding it - any info? How to setup a modifier key (or click) in steermouse, to toggle to slow pointer, like in Kensington software, for precise trackball movement when needed. Thanks again for this.

      For your question, I don't believe stearmouse has that functionality (I have never found it). BetterTouchTool has it, however I haven't dug deep enough to get that one to work with the trackball. But maybe theres something in there. So unfortunately I don't have any more info on this at the moment!!

    Do you know of any app like steermouse but for keyboard? I have steelseries keyboard with extra keys but their mapping software is useless on Big Sur and they still fail to deliver any solution or update. Thanks

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  3 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure if there's one that's the same for keyboards in the same way, HOWEVER I do use Keyboard Maestro and its good at dealing with extra keys and devices (I have mapped my Streamdeck to stuff with it before) so it's a bit different purpose, but possible to use with other keys. Worth checking out and see if it would work for you! Hope that helps!

    Amazing! I work in a studio and each egineer has his own way of working so I am loking for a way to have different layouts for each users. Is there a way to save the layouts? Is there a folder somwhere that one can access to switch configguration between users?

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  2 роки тому +1

      Yes! There is a way to save different sets of settings for each program. It's not the cleanest, but it works! You will just have to create a folder in the OS somewhere that you can find to save the settings files yourself and name them accordingly.
      But what you do is select the program you want to save (so, pro tools for instance) then you click on the "Edit" button beside the program selector, you will then see the list of programs and the + and - button to add or remove programs you'd like to setup specifically. Go to the gear icon beside those +/- buttons, and you can select Export (save the current settings for the selected program) or "Import to ..." and it will have the name of the program you're importing it too. That's how you can save the settings for an engineer and load them back up later.
      Hope that helps!!

    How does the ring work

    • @ANAKCreates

      The ring is the just scroll wheel on a normal mouse, so you can scroll up and down (or on a mac you hold shift and scroll side to side as well, not sure about windows but I’m sure there’s something like that as well)

    Is there a way to make it so one of the other functions is included in the keyboard shortcut? E.g. it says 'Application Switcher'... Is there a way to have switching to a specific application be part of the keyboard shortcut?
    Thanks for making this!

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  2 роки тому

      No problem!! Glad it helps! And yes, in the function of "application switcher" there is a "specific application" option. I have not actually used it. I don't know if you can make it part of a string of shortcuts, as it's something that takes up the "whole function" of the one button, but it is possible. If you're looking for more macros, paring this with something like Keyboard Maestro (my favorite app for this that I use alot) might get you there, which can do strings of things like that, which you can then trigger using a button in Stearmouse. Hopefully that makes sense!

    What are some of your macros and shortcuts for protools?

    • @ANAKCreates
      @ANAKCreates  3 роки тому

      Most of the ones I have are to my workflow, and I do program them for what I’m doing at the time.For instance, when I’m in Melodyne I use it to do Command+L one one button to shift between tools. When I’m doing drum editing, I have other shortcuts like quantize (Cmd+0) and one that triggers my trigger creation macro series in Keyboard Maestro. As well as I program the “B” button to cut regions with one them as well, since it’s faster them moving my hand over to the B button on my keyboard. Extremely small, but i find it helpful when doing a lot of chopping. Then I will also create some for specific jobs, like copying selections and moving them to different tracks if I’m doing that a lot, like for vocal comping for example. They are so easy to create, so some types of tasks that are repetitive I will figure out and create macros for that in the moment the wouldn’t really apply to any other job after that haha - I do plan to create some editing videos where I will show a bit more of these as well. It’s all over the place but very helpful! Hopefully that made some sense and gave you ideas!
