For my grandpa. I use to sit in my grandpas truck listening to this song with him. I never thought much of it, my grandpa passed away 2 days ago and now I can't stop listening to this song and not help but to cry. I love you and miss you grandpa.

God blessed us with the Judds and my thoughts and prayers are with them with the news of Naomi’s passing. She’s is in a much better place than I could imagine!
My Dad passed away 4 months ago. I have a time out & listen to THIS song & cry. I also was brought up on country music. Please take as long as you Need.🙏🏻
This song is one of my favorite songs.. My grandpa was a strong man, and provided for his children and grandchildren.. We love and miss you Grandaddy..
Peggy same hear dear.. such a nice and heart felt song.. it makes my day to hear this song.. My grandmother used play this song every morning during breakfast..
God this song is needed more then ever these days. It speaks to the heart and tells the truth 🥲 what happen to family’s? They just…. Don’t get along or together anymore… and it’s normalized
Amen, yes it does speak the truth ....truth told there families don't get along any more I know,,, families don't even come around no more like they used or at a family reunion unless it's at a funeral anymore
Rest in glory Mama Judd, thank you for giving me the many years of hearing your beautiful voice of music and memories better still, I pray 🙏 ❤ our Father sent your sweet angels to carry you home, where there are no more worries, no more stress or pain or tears..you have finally found peace and love for all eternity ❤ 🙏😔
Lost my Grandpa yesterday. Still in shock. I couldn't sleep so, instead here I am listening to this song. My Grandpa was 94 and my Grandparents just celebrated 67 years of marriage a few days ago.
It was such drudge work to spend summers working on their ranch. But many of my best memories came from it. It was years later, they were out on their porch just after sunset watching cattle pass by and were laughing. Grandma explained. Cowboys used to herd the cattle pass in the morning and take them to a pond to water them. At sunset they would bring them back to their corrals. She said there's no cowboys anymore but the cows still take themselves to the pond and see, they're bringing themselves back. She was right, no one was leading them. They're both gone now, I hear this song and my heart breaks.
My grandpa would've been turning 80 in a couple weeks. He passed away in 2009. I miss when we had the cottage on the lake and he'd show me how to fish, and I loved driving around town in the car with him listening to the old music on the radio with the AC on full blast. and not having a care in the world. He may have looked intimidating but he was one of the most caring men I ever met. Grandpa loved to tell jokes and get us to solve riddles and brain teasers. He loved every one of his children and grandchildren and especially my grandmother--he was heartbroken when she died, then he got sick a short time later. They are forever reunited in heaven now.
Mine was crazy. And mean. Raised his kids to be violent. Lived in abandoned buildings when I knew him. Me and my siblings suffered from his legacy, tried to overcome it, and mostly survived to do it, but still got not much of anywhere with what we were given. The good old days was also when a violent drunkard could make 13 people suffer and pass on that suffering to another 68 people.
+Robert Miller it did get me to try to be a better father, and maybe grandfather, when it was my time. I learned about violence begetting violence, and not having to be perceived as manly by others to have value.
My great grandparents raised me. They were both just put in a nursing home. My grandpa has Alzheimer's and is progressing quickly, but growing up without a dad, that will not stop him from waking me down the isle when I get married in the next year, and this will be the song that plays during our "grandfather daughter dance" ❤️
RIP Naomi! You are truly an angel. Thank you for all of your music. My favorite is this one. My grandparents raised me and this hits hard. Thank you Angel, RIP!!!❤️🙌🏼❤️❤️
R.I.P Naomi Judd! You will be missed by your fans, family, and the world. We played your song at my grandpa’s funeral and now your singing for the lord.
Even at the age of 40, and being in the army, this song still makes me teary eye. I had the greatest grandparents, who loved me and sacrificed for me. I miss all of them, on my mom's side and my dad's side. I thank god for them, and for them being parents to me when they didn't have too. Love always your Grandson
I'm remembering now why I cant listen to the great country classics like this, the tears cant be held back. I cant believe the way the memories come rushing back when I hear songs like this. Such a pleasant memory to hear this.
Just lost my grandma but this sings reminds me of her. She passed away this morning. I'm miss her so much already. Oh grandma, tell me about the good old days. 💔
One of my favorites- I just wanted to hear this today after hearing that Naomi has died. Very sad ~ my deepest condolences to her family and friends. A huge loss to the world… she was always an inspiration- a bright light. We’ll miss you.
I don’t have to have a grandpa to fully understand the magnitude and depth of this song. It’s one of those songs that will stand the test of time because it personifies the wholesome past we all long for and know may never have again. Thank You, Judds.
When I was a kid my grandpa had one of those big old sliding cassette holders that had three sliding sections in it. On the left side, he kept the tapes that he would listen to when I was around. Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, some old Du-Wop groups, and the Judds. The rest was filled up with tapes like Conway and Loretta, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and others that he didn't think a young boy should be listening to. I listened to this song a million times throughout my childhood and seeked it out this morning after my wife and I have been having some problems. The words ring as true today as they ever have.
Miss you papa 71 years strong 💪 , blessed to have shared 21 of those years with you ❤️ Seen as my best friend , protector , and a wise father.. filled a space in my heart that my father would never want to fill.

This song never ever fails to make me shed some tears I still remember back to my grandads funeral and the band played this for him and I seen the drummer and I became a drummer because of that and everyday I miss him so much
+Joseph Roman ~ you are soooo blessed, and you probably do not even know just how much. I so wish I could have had a grandfather and a grandmother, how diff. my life might have been.
I lost my grandfather two days before my 20th birthday and when he died it just about killed me. He was always the family rock, he kept our family mended together. I remember going to his house during weekends or even for summer. Believe it or not I'd look forward to waking up at 6:30am to go help him feed our ducks and take care of the garden. I loved it. So many young kids these days don't know what they have. I miss my grandpa so much and would do anything to be able to run up to him and him wrap his arms around me. He used to callme "Pig" bc when I laugh I snort. Idk if you heard it but the song, "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" reminds me so much of him. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. God Bless

Many years ago I printed out these lyrics put them in protective plastic and hung them on my grandfathers grave marker. I loved both of my grandfathers dearly. Today when I heard of Naomi passing, Just had to play this song again and it tore me up because my dad is gone to. Lyrics from this song 👏are priceless and mean a lot to me. 🙏🏻 I may have awful depression like Naomi had and on top of that, Chronic Unbearable pain. What I am thankful for in my younger days was the family values she sings about, cos my father was nothing less then perfect in my eyes and loved mom, giving her 67 years of marriage. ❤️🌼Rip Naomi 🌹✝️
RIP papa. Tomorrow will be one week that I found out you went to be with the Lord. You couldn't suffer anymore. Even though you had the most will power that I have yet to see from anyone. You used to tell me stories about "the old days" all the time. I loved it and I know you loved to tell me. I have so many good memories of you. I'm sad now but I know you are better off. And at peace. I LOVE YOU PAPA
I will never forget how kind you were to me on set of this video. Rest In Gods peace beautiful, sweet lady. May G welcome 🙏🏼 you into the kingdom, and May God bring peace to the broken hearts 💔 of all who love you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My Pawpaw use to keep a small box Radio on the kitchen table. We always listened to music and sit around the table and talk. Everybody that came thru the door went straight to the kitchen table just to talk and listen to Pawpaw. Miss you and Mammaw. Lol Harold and Allen's Beard. Those were the good ole days. I no they are sitting at a table in Heaven listening and waiting for All of us to come home with my sister Anita.
Enjoyed going to my Grandpa on my Mother’s side. Big Sunday dinners, all the men outside around their cars talking about hunting, fishing and of course the cars.
Dam I sure miss the good ole days, when I grew up we sat at the table and bowed our heads to pray before we ate, such timeless memories that I miss so badly with my family, I was always taught to respect your elders and live and love life to the fullest, God Bless those good ole days.
My Grandfather died when I was 11. That was back in 1984. I died inside that day. my father has sun never put time to play with me and listen to me and my grandfather took me fishing and he showed me how to walk when showing cattle in the county fair. He also love the garden and watch birds. He never told me any stories that I can remember. Put my grandmother my mother's mother she was the one that had real stories that I that we're worth listening to I wish that I would have lived in the generation she did. The simple days with no technology.
I'm completely understand. I lost my grandpa when I was 16 & I died. He was an awesome person & was everything to me. I can't even write this without cry.😔 Sorry you lost your grandpa 💚
Never had the privilege to meet either grandpa.. I love them and hope to see them one day in Heaven... Can't wait to hear the stories about the good ole days...
Sandy Merimee I sympathize with you. Never had the opportunity to know any of my grandparents. At over 50 years of age, I only became aware of a couple of their names just recently. Only picture I have of me with any of my grandparents is a picture of me with my mom's adoptive mother. I was a newborn in that picture. Don't have any pictures of me with any of my biological grandparents. So yes, I sympathize with you. It's like a part of you is missing. That's why I take so much time interacting with my two precious grandchildren. I don't want them to ever have that emptiness in their souls.
+ourenergyfuture, So sorry to know! I loved my grandma's. They both were widowed at a very young age. My mom was 11 and my dad 16 when they lost their father's. Your grandchildren are very blessed to have you and know your love for them. I have 4 grandchildren and one on the way due next month. I am not allowed to see my oldest two because my daughter doesn't want to be in my lie anymore. 7 years now and I grieve for all 3 of them. I can only pray my daughter comes back to me before I leave this world. We aren't getting any younger and I am missing so much of their lives. My daughter started back in church and taking the kids...There is hope....
Sandy Merimee I can't even imagine how it would feel not to be able to see my grandchildren. I am so sorry for your situation and will be praying for you and your daughter. I pray that your daughter comes to understand just how important it is for her children to know their grandmother.
ourenergyfuture God is working in my life. I know in His sovereignty He will take care of my hurts for His glory... It will be okay..Thank you for your prayers and may God bless you my friend..
ourenergyfuture , that hurts. Being the very best granddad ( and dad) that I could and certainly with my grandchrildern to be not included in the member and knowing part really hurts. And you did that.
I never listened much to "country" music until I was assigned to Marine Corps recruiting duty in Muskogee, OK, in 1989. I spent around 7-8 hours a day, (weekdays) driving between the small towns in my territory. Garth Brooks was just blowing up the airwaves, followed by Clint Black and the rest of the "hat acts". I liked the Judds and Allison Krausse when I heard them., especially Alison's version of "baby, now that I've found you". I didn't know it was a cover until I found Kieth Whitley's original on youtube.Well, not really a "cover" The "country" labels buy songs 4 some of their acts who don't write their own songs, Like Kelly Clarkson does. IIRC, she wrote "a moment like this" just for "American Idol".
My father passed on October 5th, 2016, and I don't know how I will ever cope. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. He has 8 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grands. Thanks, Judds...We are playing this song at his memorial service today. R.I.P. PMR1. "In our hearts forever, daddy."
Almost 6 years ago, I got together with my family clan, and we decided to have a family reunion. It was a surprise for our grand parents/parents. I asked my Aunt, and her daughter to sing this song for our grandparents....they learned the song together, in 3 days, and on that day nearly 70 of us celebrated our roots in Kansas. A little over 2 years later, both our grandparents had passed, oh, but a day..when that song was sung, on the Kansas prairie.....
My grandpa's around his 105th birthday now, passed away in either late 2001 or early 2002, he died believing he was Irish, even had a World War II burial service on St. Patrick's Day (his favorite holiday), though after his death, the family found out that he was Scottish. He was a cargo aircraft pilot, an interstate builder, a semi driver, and likely much more. He had 10 or more children, around 50 total grandchildren, and then now some great grandchildren are coming up in age. I am in my early twenties and already in extremely bad health, while in the best physical shape of my life. I bow my head to pray, and always remember the vows I make (such as to love someone eternally). I never cheat, always stay true, and am an old fashioned romantic.
Oh wow i wonder why he thought he was Irish and not Scottish was he evacuated as a child ? Many children were and never went back home this story makes me think that is possibly what happened got to say 105 is a amazing age. Im sorry about your health i truly hope it gets better i know how it feels to have rubbish health take care stay safe xx
Absolutely 💝 the Judds. This is my favourite Judds song . Reminds me of my grandma & grandpa . Learned a lot from them both and miss them very much everyday . Young people would do themselves a favor by listening to their grandparents wisdom . There are life's lessons to be learned if your willing to listen . 💝 you grandma & grandpa , miss you both very much .

This is one of my all-time favorite country songs rest in peace Naomi 🙏🏼❤️
My grandpa died many years ago. I just moved back to my old neighborhood and Grandpa's old house is around the corner. Love ya Grandpa.
Just lost my Grandfather on the 2nd of April. He was 90. I'm 36 and shared a lifetime with him. Truly miss him. A great man and family inspiration.
+Joseph Roman sorry for your loss bro!
God Bless

Tammy ~ you were greatly blessed to have such a man in your life
Many years ago I printed out these lyrics put them in protective plastic and hung them on my grandfathers grave marker.
Tori Leann I didn't get to meet my papa he died before I was born but I miss him
Dustin Angus My grandpa was sick for a few years before he finally passed away. And went to be at peace. Stay strong.
RIP Naomi. We will miss you for sure. Deepest condolences to Wynona and all the family and friends of Naomi.

Hello, how are you doing over there?
RIP Naomi. This will always be one of my favorite songs

My grandpa died when I 14 too. I wish he was here. People now days. are just mean.
@@aprilwooten5557 I completely agree about people now days unfortunately. Sorry you lost your grandpa 💚
I'm completely understand. I lost my grandpa when I was 16 & I died. He was an awesome person & was everything to me. I can't even write this without cry.😔 Sorry you lost your grandpa 💚
@@Kindness-always. thank you so much
@@aprilwooten5557 you're welcome 💚
My grandma would be 96 years old. She passed in 96 its been more then 20 years and It still feels like yesterday
My grandpa is a retired truck driver and I would go on the road with him during summer breaks. It was a lot of fun and wonderful memories
RIP Naomi Judd… thank you for the music 🌹🥀
Almost 6 years ago, I got together with my family clan, and we decided to have a family reunion. It was a surprise for our grand parents/parents. I asked my Aunt, and her daughter to sing this song for our grandparents....they learned the song together, in 3 days, and on that day nearly 70 of us celebrated our roots in Kansas. A little over 2 years later, both our grandparents had passed, oh, but a day..when that song was sung, on the Kansas prairie.....
January 2020 and I still love this song.
i love the song so much .I love old songs
Hello, how are you doing today over there?

Rest easy mama Judd 💔 😢
Your book "Love can build a bridge" changed my life. This song reminds me of my grandfather and is one my favorite ❤
I love her singing. She is an amazing lady. I think of my Dad when I hear it.
Hello Donna
Funny how this becomes more relevant as time passes.
This Song Alone Brings Back All The Memory's Of Family Member's That Are Gone, And Your Love For Them Will Alway's Be With You.
Those good old days seem to be like an eternity ago. When we respected each other and took care of each other.
