I’m on a frenemies rewatch journey rn. Ethan definitely is a “pusher” and can take things far, the crazy comments about her definitely hurts since she has openly struggled w mental health. BUT Trisha goes low when she feels attacked. She deff does a lot of self projecting onto Ethan without realizing it.

This is a good assesment, I think Ethan sometimes goes too far in pursuit of being funny for the show resulting in him being insensitive. But I think Trisha, when she feels cornered, can be much more deliberately cruel like trying to say Ethan and Hila have an unhappy marriage or talking about how he has had substance abuse issues. Also Ethan is more honest about his intentions, Trisha will make those deliberately cutting comments and then be like "oh I'm just trying to help you work through these issue" or "I'm just trying to be nice" etc
this is the first time i’ve ever watched the show after seeing clips/memes from social media before and she went sooooo low and was clearly extremely angry/triggered but refused to admit it, the things she kept pulling out at the end to try and hit a nerve made me so uncomfortable lmao 😭

Bipolar disorder makes you have manic episodes not constant mood swings back and forth. It's obvious she has every single defining symptom of NPD plus she's done many hard-core mentally alterating drugs, best example being meth, so even if she does have BPD (which she's admitted not being diagnosed with even tho she lied and said she WAS diagnosed with it in the past) it clearly isn't all she has she's a bad example of BPD. Also when you have a manic episode you might accidentally say something mean but you still feel guilt and are capable of apologizing after. The way she acts at the end of episode 5 makes me terrified that people think that represents bipolar disorder. I do NOT want to be grouped with her

But I do personally think it would be 1000% better if they outright said "Hey, this is not a topic I want to discuss" or "Hey this is not a topic that I want to publically discuss". It would be really good to have some UA-camrs, especially ones who are talking drama or have controversy, to start showing the etiquette of respectful conversation between two people to their audience.

I never watched the first 3 or 4 episodes. I didn't used to like ethan or trisha. Trisha for obvious reasons and Ethan because he was a bit of a dick in the past. Now I'm a huge H3 fan because of frenemies and I watch all their stuff.
I think Trisha obviously and admittedly has mental health problems even before she said what they are and having her on a pod was going to be risky and he should've been more careful. And honestly she did have a point because the first episode was uncomfortable with how Ethan was going deep on the personal stuff and he can be a bit pushy and dismissive at times. I actually don't blame her for blowing up at him. Being passive aggressive and whatnot isn't cool but I understand where she's coming from in the beginning of the episode.
I'm only talking about so far in the podcast. Stuff that comes later is not included in my observation.

@@TheCatsMeow771 I think it probably was noticeable for most people before tbh, I just remember at the time I felt validated as Trish was ‘representing’ BPD at the time which I struggle with myself, so at the time all I seen was one friend having a meltdown and the other trying to remain a good friend and be helpful/disengage (which is why I have remained a fan of Ethans, when he thought Trish was genuinely ill and struggling he had great levels of empathy and made a major effort to educate himself and learn how to help his friend), but since Trish admitted she has never actually been diagnosed with any mental illness and I have now since frenemies ended became aware of the fact she was mocking and self diagnosing BPD the same as she did with DID and schizophrenia I am now seeing the real picture, which, in my opinion, is one person using false MH diagnosis as an excuse to be a shitty person and another person having huge respectable levels of patience and empathy where it was not deserved.. long explanation so I apologise for that 😂 ur comment just got me thinking!
@@vicx8300 I haven't actually seen the reason things broke off at the end, I'm just watching these as entertainment for the first time from beginning to end so I still don't know what happened at the end and what Trish did that made everyone suddenly decide that they were faking everything. From what I have heard so far and based off of what you said it seems clear to me that she is very sick and mentally ill regardless of whether she's been diagnosed or not. These are not mentally healthy behaviors. Even though she might believe she's been using this as an "excuse" to be a bad person, I think she's clearly suggesting from sever MH issues and needs help. Obviously that's not anyone's responsibility but I find it odd that the general public had turned their back on Trish just because they don't have a diagnosis and have been lying about these things.

Yes, she actually used the word trolling to describe herself.. not mentally healthy behaviours that’s for certain, but she is damaging and further stigmatising and invalidating whole communities of specific mental illnesses just to avoid accountability and actual real life mental health treatment which she is so much more fortunate than most and can seek her own means of private mental health care, rather than faking illnesses, diagnosis’ and treatments to then admit later on that these things never happened in the first place and that she is trolling etc. I agree, someone has got to have something wrong with them to carry out these actions and be a consistent compulsive liar like what Trish has throughout her 10+ years on UA-cam, the problem is that people only get so many chances when it comes to society and the general public and although some people (usually the ones who don’t know the whole story) may still support Trish it does not mean that those of us affected by the abuse and stigma that have been thrown our way in comments section by people whose only ‘education’ on said mental illness comes from watching Trish trolling online whilst pretending to have said illness just to later admit that she was trolling. It’s like the boy that cried wolf, even when she eventually comes forward with a real conversation about her MH the general public who have watched for years will just automatically think ‘here we go again’ bc it’s impossible to know when she will ever tell the truth💁🏽♀️ I stopped watching Trish after the episode of her own podcast where she made this admission bc quite frankly I was absolutely torn apart by people in her comments section back when I defended her so I not only felt insulted but also betrayed and very stupid. So that is why I turned my back on Trish and I think anyone else who went through the same on her behalf have the right to make that decision after 10 years of support and being consistently lied to.. I hope she seeks help privately away from the internet and keeps her business about mental health to herself bc at this point it’ll only make her decline by seeing what others have to say about it and it certainly won’t help anyone who has these disorders. So many amazing MH creators online who positively represent mental health and this BS isn’t the way to do it. Also the documentaries about other lies narratives and stories that are extremely damaging to anyone involved in or seeing it. Idk how much u know about all of this but yea there’s 10 years of this BS how much do you expect the general public let her away with? Mental health is never an excuse, it can be an explanation (when its true) but never an excuse to be a terrible person. When I start seeing people talk about positive changes she is actively taking to work on herself and get actual real life help then maybe in the future I may give her another chance, but I am not wasting any more time or stress being a fan of someone who no one even knows what they’re REALLY like. The one thing she’s been told openly by psychs !!on camera!! is that she has high levels of narcissism which is a mental illness in itself but NPD wouldn’t suit her narrative, again until people see positive and active change what is the point in letting someone have a negative effect on ur own mental health when they don’t even give a fk about u or ur illness.. that’s just how I see it and I know many others are the same 💁🏽♀️ Trish had undying love and support from the BPD community until she started lying about and undoing all the positive work other creators who have seeked actual help and diagnosis have done to destigmatise the disorder

You can see as the episode progresses how Trisha’s attitude changes. She was prepared to fight for herself, and Ethan clearly took her off guard by being so reassuring, patient, and understanding. You can tell that meant the world to her. It brings tears to my eyes!!!

Looking back at old episodes, I see the biggest problem is that Trish doesn’t see that 2 people can be wrong. She always has to retaliate with the same level of hate. The whole “2 wrongs don’t make a right.” Watching back I also feel like she doesn’t have any kindness in her heart and she’s only polite so people don’t hate her.
Have you noticed (specifically this video) that Ethan will try and move on from the convo and Trisha twists something he says to argue some more. She’s super manipulative and contradicts herself saying she genuinely like Ethan and then a few minutes later will say she does not care for him. She also is a good example of someone who gaslights.
She's a narcissist. She's highly insecure and miserable and she wants to bring others down to her level. She's mean to Ethan because she's actually envious of his life.
