- This week we cover Genesis 39, where we pick back up with Joseph, sold by his brothers into slavery and taken down to Egypt. In Egypt, Joseph is purchased by the captain of Pharaoh's guard, Potiphar. Joseph is blessed by God in everything he does and quickly is placed in charge of all of Potiphar’s household. Potiphar’s wife lusts after Joseph and makes many, not too subtle, passes at him. Joseph refuses and flees and ends up in prison as a result. This week we look at 1) God’s fulfillment of his promises, 2) Joseph as an example of a man who truly trusts God in everything, and 3) Joseph’s example of how to deal with sexual immorality (flee)!
