- I have a lot of commentary after the fact, but this is how you can make your character a Queen Grey Warden. Eventually, I'll put together a video to have a King Grey Warden. We'll get to that later. EA and BioWare own the rights to Dragon Age: Origins, not me.

Honestly if Anora really cared about her people, she would notice what her father was doing to the country and try to stop him or something like that. But instead she just sat back and let daddy in control of her kingdom

That’s because actually running a kingdom is actually a lot of work, and from everyone else’s perspective Loghain was a war hero who barely made it out of Ostegar with his mens lives
So whilst Anora ran around putting out political fires that were lit when so many Nobels died at Ostegar, he was in charge of military matters
They went into a civil war! Anora is partly responsible for that as the sovereign. If she let her father take control she was hardly the expert ruler she thought she was.
@@Leonnie13 she wouldn’t have had a choice, her father was seen as a War Hero and genius military commander, whereas she was just the Queen Regent, she didn’t have any blood claim to the throne and after the Blight there would’ve been a whole process to selecting a new Royal Family
Whether or not she remained Queen after the Blight would really depend on how she managed the Nobles during the blight, and appeasing them by putting her well respected genius war hero father in charge would be one way to begin securing the future of her family as the new Royal family
@@3adgamd3r She appeared to be doing NOTHING for the whole year the Warden was running around trying to gather allies and solving the problems that Loghain was creating. Alistair, being part of that effort was better suited to lead, especially if hardened. To me, Anora appeared to be self-serving and only after power.
Name one thing she did prior to being “captured” by her father’s ally to prepare her people for a Blight. Even her dialogue about Howe, which was one minute, “my Father is in his thrall”, and another minute, “Howe is a lackey” was inconsistent and suspect.
She sided with the Warden because she is not stupid. She knew which direction the wind was blowing.
Additionally, a lot of plots went forward against Cailan and those loyal to him prior to the events at Ostagar. It is plausible that Anora knew some of them. My Cousland came to the conclusion that Howe would never have attacked Highever unless he was sure of support. Namely, Loghain.
Anora also greatly mishandled the Alienage before and after the events of the Blight.

Ironic considering her father nearly sacrificed all of Fereldin to the darkspawn just cuz he’s bitter towards Orlais.

And Cailin was planning on cheating on Anora with Celene, the Empress of Orlais (if you take Loghain to Ostegar in the DLC he’ll comment as such when finding the letters)
Cailin was a fool, and Loghain was right to pull his troops from the field because he’s right, they would’ve been slaughtered by the Darkspawn, however by making the tactically correct decision to save as many lives as possible, he committed treason, and then tried to cover it up, which is ultimately what got him into trouble at the end
@@3adgamd3r true I don’t blame Loghain for his bitterness towards Orlais and I see his treachery at Ostegar as a more grey situation given what was happening around it.
But all that said, Loghain lost any support he might have had from me the moment he started seizing control of the throne, brought civil war against his own nation in the midst of a darkspawn invasion, and even went so far as to sell elves, his country’s own citizens, into slavery and his reasons to justify it are totally hypocritical.
Loghain: Fuck Orlais! They made me a slave in my own home land! Lemme protect it by selling my own people into slavery.
I agree Orlais is shit and undeserving of trust. But be that as it may, in the war against the darkspawn who want to eradicate all life, you can’t afford to be choosy. Better dealing with the threat of Orlais than the Blight. At least with Orlais you’ll likely still have a land to fight for.
And no I do not care that Loghain disregarded the darkspawn threat as “no true Blight” just because there wasn’t any Archdemon sighted or “Cailin’s vanity demanding it be so”. Blight or no, historical precedents point to darkspawn marching on the surface as ALWAYS a bad sign to be taken with upmost seriousness. If anything, darkspawn attacking the surface in such a large horde without an archdemon leading them is just as bad as if it were a Blight because that would indicate darkspawn are likely to start attacking the surface much like how they attack Orzammar
@@thenethralking6032 that’s true, what I mean is I think after the initial attempt at a cover up he began to spiral, needing more and more money to continue the war meant he simply took it as a national expense, however he was ultimately stealing it
As for the elves, well it’s pretty clear that they get shafted simply because nobody cares that it happens, the level of racism the elves go through in Ferelden is pretty nuts, the city elf prologue has many examples of it, so when it came to choosing between financing the war and some second class citizens the majority of common humans won’t miss, the dark but logical choice is clear
Everything he did was evil, but I like how BioWare made sure to make all of his actions make logical sense if you think about it like how someone who’d spent his whole life at war would think about it
He was used to sending people to their deaths, and so when he got power over the people, sending them into slavery didn’t bother him

+William Haskins If he has been hardened, you can persuade him to keep you as his mistress. But honestly, you can't expect a king to marry anyone other than a noble.
You can, after all is said and done you're the Hero of Fereldan. You have a title enough to warrant being a noble which technically in a real world scenario (yes yes it's not the real world) would be enough to allow you to marry a King. Just look at the European monarchy they married anyone with a title whether they owned lands or not, the title was what was important.

This is the choices I just made in origins and was worried about future games repercussions but this is making me feel pretty good about my decisions
Always loved that they have a long conversation as Loghain bleeds out on the floor. Wish they threw in some "argghh's", "ahh's" and "gurgles..." And panned down ocassionally
Well, Anora did not have any claim; she was just the queen to the former king. Dowager queen then, if you like that term, but never destined to rule in her own right.
And btw: wasnt she never able to produce offspring ? no heirs means her line would end anyway.
I dont know there are ways to prevent pregnancy even in medieeval ways so I am not shure About this.Maybe Anora is infertile and in this case it would be a reason to annull the marriage.After all ist the Duty of a queen to give birth to an heir.I dont know which english king but there was one who even killed one of his wifes becouse of that.
The thing that bores me is: if you're not noble, Alistair bumps you because "he will be asked to have a heir for the throne and we both have corruption inside"... but if you make Anora queen, at the end they tell she never merry again because of his father's memory. So, FUCK OFF, It's the same!
Well frankly neither of them has any claim (EDIT: *unacknowledged* bastards have no inheritance rights either). It's basically a situation where whoever has the most support will take over (and probably invent some claim as the descendant of some king 200 years ago). Essentially, it comes down to whether more of the lords support Loghain or Eamon. Plus Grey Wardens are infertile so there'll be no heir regardless of who rules.
P.S. Somehow a male PC is able to impregnate Morrigan without doing the ritual. I don't know if that's an oversight or if he's supposed to be an exception.
Robert R Morrigan tells you if you haven’t been a Grey Warden long it is possible. Otherwise they are infertile.
And she was nouveau where is the warden comes from a royal line the actually predates the current Dynasty

Dragon age really makes you "connect" with the character.
I refuse to play DA2 and DAI because i'd miss the old gang. Awakening is the only sequel to me.

Actually the first time my Character became Queen wasnt planned.I made the deal with Anora because my first playthrough was with a male noble and I did it before.But I must have said something that she didnt liked so she stabbed me in the back in the Landsmeet.I won anyway and after seeing that there is an Option to rule by his side I did it.And btw.I was really pissed when she talked about the plan of ruling together with Alistair after Loghain was killed and Alistair didnt agreed immediatly to become king.
How did Anora know the joining ritual can be fatal for gray wardens? (abt 1:37)
gracieannpinker1492 According to the DA lore, pretty much everyone of power knows that it could be fatal. Not many know about the Gray Wardens specifically, but personally, people have learned that the order can be fatal during its joining.
+CDBookManGaming but in DA:A nathaniel howe said that the howes didn't know about the fatality of warden joining. this was said in a conversation about his grandfather if i recall correctly (or maybe his uncle). and because of this, nathaniel (and rendon howe) resent his grandfather because he never send any word to his family after joining the warden, without knowing the truth that his grandfather had died in the joining. considering that howe is one of the powerful family in ferelden, arl of amaranthine, and an older family even to the cousland. if the lore is correct, they should've known about this.

I would guess that she just thinks logical.Its obvious that not all recruits come back as Wardens so Maybe she combined that what ever it Needs to become a Warden it can be fatal.
Benji Ramadhan I’m willing to gamble that either it was simply Rendon Howe lying to Nathaniel and the others in order to paint the uncle in a negative light. Perhaps Howe did get a notice from the Wardens and he just cast it aside. Rendon was, after all, a lying, vile snake of a man. Would he really be above saying such things to his kids in order to make a member of the family look bad?
It’s also possible that you don’t know just because you’re of nobility. It’s likely that being a noble makes it easier for you find out since that status gives you easier access to things in the world. It’s possible Anora took the time to look into Grey Wardens since her former husband loved them so much and found a pattern of recruits perishing at the joining.
Lol I love the whole ‘won’t be with lack of trying’ line and alistair is all like wow 😅 I’ve never made alistair king without hardening him. So question is: is the epilogue any different with him being unhardened?
If he's not hardened, he would not accept the mantle of king. He'll skip out and Anora would be crowned queen.
Yes, there are two different epilogues for Alistair in each scenario, hardened and unhardened (softened).

You can practically hear the Bannorns drooling over how naive and easily manipulated Alistair will be as king.

Am I the only one who uses the Juggernaut set for my queen warden? You can get it in Brecillian forest(Disturb the tombstones) and the ruins(when in the ruins you must get the ritual note first to get the final piece which is the armor)

Well, either way I'll make him king, but it seems you get much more of a romantic pay off if your warden was with Morrigan than Alistair(if he's king that is).

Looking back at it, I think I would feel more comfortable if the Landsmeet came to a conclusion themselves regarding who should be the ruler. Saying that Anora isn’t the appropriate person to mediate this situation is correct, but neither is the Warden, since we are close confidants of Alistair.
They should’ve voted, similar to how they support either you or Loghain based on your decisions and dialogue options.
Yeah, Anora would have made more sense than a guy who had an illegitimate claim to the throne he didn't want anyway. If they made Alistair less a goof and more a regal type, this probably wouldn't have been hard to accept.

Well his claim to the throne is legit. He is Maric’s son and thus of Theirin blood after all.
And while blood doesn’t automatically make you a good king, I do think it is important to have tradition on your side in some way.
Anora is also a smart politician and diplomat but lacks the “earthy” touch of Alistair who knows what it means to not be part of nobility.
I think them ruling together (with him being hardened) is the best and most stable outcome. The only thing that bugs me with this is that I can’t allow him to fight Loghain.

The game is Epic GOLD! Never been a game even close to the stellar excellence in this game. The humor and dialogue, storyline, companions- absolute amazing.
This could almost be my grey warden Queen I have the high dragon armour and I always make sure I'm wearing the family shield at the landsmeet I think it's the political choice tobide everyone that's my queen is actually actually of a legitimate royal line the dates back further than the current Dynasty I also take Wynne for the circle and Liliana in her Chantry robes and make sure Alistair is wearing the Royal armour
Conquering hero dragon slayer grey warden legitimate contender for the throne in my own right with the backing of the circle and the Chantry Alistair's reign is totally legitimised by marrying the warden
Yeah, it really comes down to your charisma and how you play it out with Alistair, but you HAVE to be a Royal Human.
I never understood the fascination with those massive armors.They take all the stamina in the fight.
They may look awesome but really not worth it.
People were more physically stronger in those times, I'd think. We get physically weaker as a species the more our technology advances, I'd think. Because we become more lazy and have technology help us out with everything. Like how eating cooked food made our jaws smaller overtime for example.

@@gamma2589 Do you think that we ve already gotten significant evolution due to technology since the industrial revolution? 140 years are nothing compared with the amount of time that gets to a species to adapt due its necessities.
They protect from more hits, you are more likely to survive getting hit while wearing that than wearing leather armor

Thank you cdbookmangaming. I do need your advice on armor heavy armor and massavice armor. I have the warden commander armor and the armor of Diligence. But i cant decide on witch armor is better heavy or massivie armor. Witch would be better to save when i fall. Or would matter. one of them is made out of sliverright armor and dragonbone armor. Ik its a werid quistion. But im confusied right now. Let me know i hope to hear from you soon. Also you are best guide on youtube. For answers. Thank you alot.

You didn't show it but I assume that you had them do the ritual with Morrigan? or does it bypass that due to the whole king/queen thing?
Alistair would have to perform the ritual with Morrigan seeing as how the main character is a woman and not doing so would lead to either Alistair or the main character sacrificing themselves. So, yes, Alistair did perform the ritual. Probably should have mentioned that.
Is this non-hardened Alistair? Because when I appoint him the king, he says something like "Put her in a cell, and if I die fighting the Archdemon, she can have her throne."
Also in his next conversations he my Alistair was a lot more confident.
This is hardened Alistair. You have to tell him to denounce his sister or it won't work.

That is the same option I chose after talking to his sister. I will have to play again to check this.
@@kamen42 I know this is an older post, but in order to harden Alistair you have to speak with him when he has 75+ approval and basically confirm what you said at the beginning. If you don't do that he will not be hardened.

You can save the relationship if you harden him and choose nobody can tell a king what to do.
That sucks!!! At least I can try to flirt with Cullen and watch him run... yeah, I got it bad for the character!

my game crashed after the last fight so i didnt get to see this last cutscene :/
+Tycr I had the same issue. Apparently, the auto-save right before the Archdemon fight can become corrupted. Try loading up the save before that one, then beating the dragon. It should work, then.
First play thru, after 70 or so hours my game froze just as I started to fight the Arch Demon. Disc scratched.
Sat on the couch for 10 minutes pondering this turn of events
It would be cool if we could speak to Anora alone as a Cousland noble and convince her to abdicate her claim. Queen to Queen. And express that you will not hesitate to ruin her if she chooses to stand in your way.

You have to be at max level otherwise it won't work.

You would have to harden Alistair's heart first, then not support Anora and kill Loghain or it won't work. The aspect of making Alistair displeased with his sister makes him more selfish in his overall decisions, which is why he marries your character.

I know this is late, but actually if you're in a romance with Alistair *and* you're a female human noble (Cousland, not a mage), you don't have to harden him. That's what I did because hardened!Alistair is a little bit of a dick. If he's in love with you (and you've taken him into your tent) he'll still be relieved he doesn't have to ask you to marry him, but if you respond to the heir comments with, "It won't be for lack of trying!" then instead of being awkward he says something like, "Good thing we got started early, then!"
If you're *not* in a romance with Alistair as a female human noble, then you do have to harden him, since non-hardened!Alistair won't just marry you for political reasons since he's a gooey romantic.
Dragon Age Origins how i love this game :) Aaah i hope one day we will have Dragon Age Origins remasterd because no other DA has ever made me feel so good like this one. Da 2 was a meh... not so great still fun to play. Da inquisition was meh felt empty. The dialogue felt not so free like this one. The only parts i liked from DA inquisition was the talk of asking Morrigan about Kieran and the Grey Warden. Or Leliana asking about the Grey warden.
Dragon Age Remastered, like Mass Effect Remastered, shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for the Switch, at least. BioWare did release Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U long ago.
@@CDBookManGaming and what i also hate from inquisition is you cant cheat in it like getting your warrior do some mages spells. Or giving your mage full plate armor. In Dragonage Inquisition you have not that freedom without mods. And that i find sad also. I want a mage who can wear full knighs armor hell Arcane warriors even wore metal :P
@@wraithking3749 I feel Inquisition's combat moves faster than Origins. To me, Origins doesn't really pick up till the last few hours in terms of being truly compelling.

i know i'm incredibly late, but what happens if you don't have a hardened alistair? Like, does anyone have a video where we see what happens at 5:17 if he's NOT hardened???
If he's not hardened, he won't marry your main character. The whole thing is that not being hardened makes him less selfish, so he doesn't look to getting only what he wants.

Alistair accepted the throne no questions asked as soon as he slaughtered Loghain, so I didn't get the option of saying I would rule as his queen. I guess I messed something up along the way, but I hardened him with his family quest.

Yeah, I ended up going back and doing it where I dueled/executed Loghain myself. I didn't get the wedding scene with Alistair in the end, though. It just said I was Princess-Consort, LOL.
I actually didn't get to make myself either however afterward (he was hardened) when he came to break up with me there was a very long conversation and when I chose no one can tell a king what to do, and he says what have a wife etc that wouldn't be fair blah blah blah I had an option to say "not if you marry me" and he says That's true! They can make me be their king but they can't tell me what to do!" And at the end I have the full My betrothed and your soon to be Queen scene at the end.
I didn't add a mod for added choices for this, I assume you need to have the right answers as the human noble in this conversation because you still have to have the conversation about expecting to have a child once he agrees to marry you.

He was hardened, so I had to duel/execute Loghain in order to facilitate the discussion about who was becoming the next ruler. I got crowned Queen haha.
I didn;t eve get that when I executed Loghain lol I went all the way back through the Landsmeet. Smartass just said, Yup I accept. I said wait...WHAT?!? lol
You have to be the one to kill him if he's hardened. If you soften Alistair, you can have him kill Loghain and then continue dialogue from there.

Your noble will not appear in Dragon Age 2. Alistair will and he'll mention the fact that they're married in a way I won't tell you. Cunning level, I'm not sure I can remember that one. I just know that I had mine maxed.
My character is female noble I did this correctly I think. I did harden alistar but Anora betrayed me now everyone in the lands meet just attacked me there was no choice did I do something wrong? Please help. I’m thinking if it’s because I left jowan in the dungeon and let redcliffe arl send him to the circle but I’m not sure
Really, what matters is hardening Alistair, only having a relationship with him, and making certain that Anora and you are on good terms. You need everyone's trust if they'll go along with this, and you have to kill Loghain. Loghain can't live.

Also it didn’t get to that point to kill loghain, it was when anora walked in said she can speak for herself she turned on me instead of loghain, not sure why lol. But I did harden alistar. I did have the equal love mod as well, and romanced morrigan as well as alistar, she saw my character as a man so that could be it perhaps.

I can't really remember, but I think they were forged through side quests in that town's smithy.
I think the armor Alistair is wearing is a heavy plate armor made of Dragon bones.The armor of the Warden makes Wade the Smith in Denerim out of Dragon scales that you can get from the Dragon at the temple of the sacred ashes.

I need help how to become queen grey warden. I need to know how high does my cunning have to be to become queen and to wed alistar. I need to know what to do in alistairs sisters house and should i give alistars sister money what should i say to alistars sister when i first come in her house. Does that help to become queen grey warden. I need to about the landsmeet to does alistar have to be king. For me to become queen after that what when alistair comes talks to me bout me picking him as king how do i become queen or wed alistar. I need answers please.
I have a video detailing that about it also. You need your cunning to be fully leveled and you have to romance Alistair. The rest of the details are in that video I've posted about it.

Only a human noble woman can be a queen. Alistair's prejudice like that. I've tried it; it won't work for you.

@@Bubbles99718 my city elf rogue had a relationship with alistair. But when we got to the landsmeet, i had him marry anora and had him stay back so i could sacrifice myself to the archdemon. It was pretty sad but i thought it was a good story in my head.

I don't know, I watched a vid with Loghain going to Ostagar for the Return to Ostagar DLC, he's a pretty horrible character too, even beyond what he did at Ostagar to Duncan and Cailan. Loghain had lost his ever loving mind.

If your character is Alistair's love interest and you have your Charisma meter at full, you can convince him to get along with Anora and then, they can have a sham marriage.

From what I can tell, no. You have to let Alistair kill Loghain otherwise Alistair will leave. Only the Anora ending will save Loghain.
No. If you want to become queen,Loghain has to die for Alistair to claim the throne. In case you want both Alistair and Loghain to survive,it is doable though. Let Loghain live,Alistair will hate you and leave the party but you gain Loghain. And Alistair becomes king,alone or with Anora. And then have Loghain bang Morrigan so he can be saved and profit ^^

Yes and yes. Alistair has to kill Loghain so he can extract his revenge and the main character has to be a human noble, not a mage or non-human.

I believe Goldana and Alistair came from the same mother only, so she wasn't of noble birth. That was why she was left aside.

- he send soldiers to hunt and kill remaining Grey Wardens in which include you
- he hire assassins to kill you
- he work with Howe who kill your family in Human Noble origin
- he done all the bad evil things we brought up in the Landsmeet
- even he lost, he still don't want to back down and ask for a duel to death where he won't give a chance to you as you would give him

Anora's hands always bother me in this scene. Because she doesn't have gloves or gauntlets on, their constantly splayed state is distracting, especially when she covers her face to cry.

It's a steady process of "hardening" his heart. You have to make him fall for you before the midway point, convince him to talk to his sister, and make him denounce meeting her after they have their spat. At that point, you then have to convince him after the moot to think of becoming king for his own selfish reasons. You need a high charisma rate, you have to be royalty, and you have to make him think of himself.

The bad side of making Alistair king is that in DA Inquisition he is not the grey warden that you get to meet. So is better to just let Anora be the queen.
