- In this basic question of projectile motion in wind, most of students apply wrong concept while solving. more than 93% students solved the question with wrong concept. Although question is very easy but still while solving slightly tricky questions students ignore some fundamental facts and lose marks in exams. In this video of series Physics in Minutes, Ashish Arora sir is explaining one such question to improve the conceptual mistake usually students commit in exams.

Sir, what will be the net effect of air friction on time of flight?
Sir , I am in class 11th and Love your lectures ... I wanna ask what should I do to increase my level of physics to Olympiad level
sir i have a doubt
i think air friction will act in opposite direction to relative velocity of ball wrt air
please corrrct me if i am wrong ???
sir 11th walo ko toh abhi air friction ka concept nahi bataya gaya
Sir can you explain if a accent>g then why velocity becomes zero at hmax
This actually blew my mind of how question based learning we do jnstead of just grasping the concepts to its real depth ...THANKS A LOT SIR these type of blunders really needed to be corrected hope u keep bringing such eye openers ❤
Yes sir...i was also in that 93% who didnt considered air friction .... Thank u sir for clearing this concept of air friction and would always consider situation given in question rather than based facts 👍
Air friction in general isn't even considered while solving similar problems. It's pertinent to ask when to apply if the air friction is imparted upon the object
Yes this habit is making us to exclude external situation which we must avoid ... especially for advanced
Me too
Sir AP please hme regular pdane lg jao kisi online batch mai
Yes sir
no need sir 😊
Sir teaches in offline... isn't it more than enough that a star batch teacher is teaching for free online
@@DeepanjanBaralJEEhume bhi star batch ke teacher padhate hai
25 cr per annum lene wala online kaha se padhaega
Sir please keep uploading this type of educational content always.
It was truely an eye-opener.
Thank you so much sir
Truly eye opener for me. I really thought there is nothing more to do in this problem other than simple projectile formula. ❤need to practice more such qs
Sir its a humble request to please explain every brain teaser concept in this way .. please Sir its very helpful 🙏🙏🙏🙏 . Please Sir atleast 5-10 minutes a day ❤
Wow,this is really amazing
Thank you Ashish sir for your innovative efforts,Ashish sir is going to revolutionized the era's by his creativity, efforts, and love for physics and physics lovers
Yes sir, I also did not think of the air friction aspect. Thank you sir for giving the clear cut concept.
Your content is far ahead of time sir..Hats off
Yes sir, I also at first attempt thought the case will be just like a normal projectile and forget to apply air friction. Thanks sir for your guidance, from now I would try to look at the question more clearly and deeply
Yes sir I was unable to think about it but now I will surely think more about such types of questions
I didn't even consider air friction i couldn't think of it in the first place but now i will certainly consider each and every point in questions from now on.
Sir i have not thought this way
You absolutely great sir 👏 👍
Hi sir I follow your electrostatic book and it is very helpful
yea sir i also did not think like this , Thank you
Yes sir mai nhi soch paya tha phle but ab clear ho gya.
Thanks a lot sir ❤
I think we need to talk to our coaching centres about how they only teach us 'IDEAL SITUATIONS' which eventually becomes our habit to take every case as ideal situation... i honestly thought that the upward motion would be affected but i got the opposite relations
would love to get these physics in minute videos for the brain teasers posted daily and kindly make a guidance video for 2024 aspirants on how we should revise 11th n all
Nice concept very thankfull to you sir😊😊😊😊
@physics galaxy, sir im in 11th and this question is eye opner for me because i always neglect air friction and sir iam very grateful that you providing this type of material and your books for student and sir iam frequently following it.
This is simple. Its because air friction is negligible we are ignoring it.
Thank you Sir for this wonderful question!
I come in that 93% who thought Ta=Td but I will consider air friction
Thank you sir
Be honest u didn't 😂
@@ProPeeps bro he said he was in 93 percent
i eagerly wait for tbt answers , and when i got the answer of this it totally blew my mind, what a concept sir, i confess that i had this misconception but grateful to you for your clarification, and one request sir , please keep on the onion series those are very helpful for jee advanced preparation because the only source of advanced level theories is your source sir... grateful for our help and need it till jee 2026 sir...
Sir I was one of those who marked the answer when saw time of ascent=time of descent. Thank you for the explanation.
Yes sir I was also thinking wrongly but you made us to understand the qus❤
Sir friction ke baare me pehli baare me click nhi hua tha. But it helped right now. Plz upload more videos like this.
Yes Sir main bhi shuruaat mein nahi soch paaya tha par ab aage se dhyaan rakhunga
Thank you sir i am a jee 25 aspirant and just tomorrow i started projectile motion and this question made me again think to make my fundamentals strong thanks alot 🙏🙏
thank you sir learned new concept
Thank u sir for clearing my doubt
Yes Sir, this was an eye opener question.
Ji sir.... In choti choti cheezo pe aur dhyan dena padega... Thank you for the wonderful explanation 🙏
Thanks sir for i made the same mistake but these very fundamentally important thing helps so thank you
Exactly manai first method sai hi socha tha
Infact earlier i came across a similar ques where neglecting air friction was necessary and was wondering why was this sentence mentioned
THANK U SIR FOE THIS WONDERFUL QUES❤❤
Yes sir . I also had this misconceptions that horizontal component shall remain same for both cases , thus time of ascent and descent shall remain same .
This types of content>>>>>>irrelevant time consuming and entertaining Yt shorts thanks lot
I pass my time watching physics in minutes from ashish sir and phd series from eduniti😂
Bhai tum shorts dekhne ke liye time pate bhi ho?
Sir maine Air friction ke baare me nahi socha tha lekin ab samjh gya.
Sir e concept pata nehi tha .. thnks sir batane keliye
Yes sir, thanks
I didn't have think of air friction
Excellent .
Sir please do something on how to approach questions on physics for neet , please please please please sir .
Specially on those concepts from where there is a chance of getting confusion .
And please sir tell something the sequence which we should follow to make our physics rock solid , the step by step guide , please sir , humble request from a student.
Yes sir mai nhi soch paya tha
Yes sir I wan unable to think it but from today I will think in multiple dimension😊
Please make more videos like this
I also didn't think of considering air friction. Thank you sir
Btw Ta + Td will be still 2u/g right?
There is another way of comparing T ascent vs T descent in such questions:
In linear cases of constant acceleration starting or ending at zero speed, we can say that distance=ut/2 or vt/2
u is the initial vertical speed imparted
v is the speed of striking the ground
and since friction is at work, vt
T descent > T ascent
thank you sir😊
Sir I really didn't thought that answer but that gives an indication to make short notes
I didnt think of this part of the concept, but surely will try to inprove
Sir mai nahi soch paya tha...but now i will take care of every minute details given in the question
Mene ye socha hi nhi tha. Thank you sir
Unable to think in beginning..but now I will pay more attention to this part
Thank you sir I always follow your classes for better understanding
Yes... Sir.. Mere ko initially yahi laga tha.. Par ab samjh me a gay
Yes sir it was truly an eye opener
Sir can you tell me in which part of physics galaxy semiconductor and communication present?
I will certainly work on myself to understand corrct language of questions and to interpret them correctly
Thankyou for this concept sir🙏🙂
Very useful and good lecture
Tysm sir!
Thank you sir
Yes sir I did this mistake
And now I make sure that I will work upon it
Yes actually it never occurred to me like this we are so used to neglecting air friction in the questions until specially written not to that in this case when the actual wind was flowing it did not even clicked me
Great explanation ❤
Yes sir , me bhi nahi soch paya air friction ke bare me
Perfect explanation 👍
sir this was a killer eye opener sir
Air friction nahi socha sir usually in every question ....
Now understood
Awesome questions sir ....
Thanks sir .plz make a vedio that from what we can do to score full on full physics.jee24
Yes sir, great small concept ❤
Yes sir i do not think at that level you explain thank you sir
Yes sir now I am going to follow your series
First I made a blunder by thinking it incorrectly ,then I reader the explanation on telegram given by physics galaxy which I didint understand a lot bcoz I never new about air friction in problems so yes my thinking got evolved I feel that to exponentiallly thanks a lot sir..and i undersatnd it now completely
Yes sir,I also forget to apply air friction.
Thank you so much Sir ❤
sir this was so amazing! pls bring more questions for 2025. its a humble request. questions like these surely will teach to think in a broader manner!
Bro teko isme kuch samaj bhi aaya😂
Btw mai bhi 11th ka hi hu😂😂

Sir thanks for clearing the concept . BTW I was also in the 93 %.
as soon as i read this que , first thing that came to my mind was effect of air friction on g
the real god of physics :)
I hadn't thought that but I will make sure I remember it
Thanku sir❤
Thanku sir
commenting at 2:36 , as i have read that projectile is only affected by gravitational force and thrust is not considered . i dont think that flow of wind horizontally wont affect the motion of projectile
Sir l had watched your jee mains checklist video in which you talked about cases in projectile (projectile on a moving body)
I applied the same concept in this question also however l didn't took air drag into consideration
But l will not commit such mistake from next time onwards 👍🏻
One doubt if upar jaate wakt ffiction hai so a >g but niche aate wakt bhi toh friction oppose karega then time of ascent = time of descent hona chshiye na ?
Very nice explanation
Nice explanation sir
yes sir i missesd the coceot of friction from next time i will analayse the situation properly
I used to ignore air friction. Thanks sir for giving correct concept.
We are grateful for physics galaxy 😊
yes sir hum bhi yehi mistake kr rhe they
thanks for explaining the concept
Yes sir initially we used to ignore these things
Yes sir nahi soch paya tha
sir i was able to think at first glance this and june 15 problem also
very nice sir
sir me nahi samajh paya tha bt now i will be carefull about these small concepts.
Thanks Sir,
thanks sir...i was also thinking the same as 93% students...it was an eye opener
